  1. Qatar Airways and an average 40 odd thousand home gate I expect.
  2. Perhaps he just doesn't know how to be a 4 day batsman against decent bowlers, seems to come in and want to hit every ball out of the ground. Either that or he just can't be fagged to run between the wickets.
  3. And therein lies the reason why we can never ever keep our better players. We don't pay enough for a top side. To really be a top side you need top players and to get top players you need top money not a pîssy 35K a week, especially when the PL gives you roughly 80 million £ a season.
  4. Nice steady start today after being put in, in fact the kind of start I'd hoped for in the second innings last week. If only Carberry hadn't got carried away when he was set we might have won that. Adams and Dawson opening today, giving us a platform to buid on, 81 without loss after 27 overs.
  5. If you say so, I went (ok ok but I got a free ticket) to watch Clermont-Saracens, not bad actually.
  6. Well, the Canal+ experts were unanimous about him against Burnley, he lacks composure and snatches at any chance he gets. It was Remy Garde and that bloke who used to play for Bolton, Habib Beye I think is his name.
  7. We'll see what is to be seen but I am concerned over the number of people who seem to think that the minute Clasie is an adequate replacement for Schneiderlin, for me he'll be way too small for today's PL.There's small and small and Clasie falls into the latter category.
  8. Frustrating is the word that describes our season to me, good season but I just can't evacuate the feeling that we've spoilt the proverbial ship either through stubborness on someone's part or for want of the old ha'porth of tar. Didn't see yesterday's game (day out at t'Rugby) so nothing to say about that.
  9. Ah I don't know there, sometimes there are things you can only see at the game, stuff like movement off the ball, anticipation, comportment over 90 minutes etc. Scouts don't always watch the game, just the player that they're interested in and his interactions. Saw a report on Pogba the other day, apparently if you watch him for 90 minutes there are several sectors where he needs to improve but you don't always pick them up in a televised game.
  10. Campbell is at Villareal, on loan I think and Flanagan had some sort of fairly long term knee injury.
  11. Listening to the BBC Solent commentary myself...seems to be some sensible batting just now, few short balls from the Australian chappie (what can you expect really) though.
  12. Right 378 to get then, 3.5 or 4 sessions, 120 overs or so, so no one day batting required at all thanks lads.
  13. Perhaps the wicket is tricky when there's shine on the ball or something, we had them in trouble early on yesterday and they got into us in the first 20 overs or so, still I do wish that some of our batsmen would give the 1 day batting a break.
  14. Dear oh dear we seem to have been found out as a non-first division side already. Even Worcester managed 311 yesterday..
  15. Ah well, Rome wasn't built in a day.
  16. And where would we find the 10 million or so per annum to pay him ?
  17. Who cares, just another boring procession anyway. 2 Mercedes in front of 2 Ferraris and then 2 Willams. Mclaren seemed to have re-invented the 200 million £ Pony and Cart.
  18. If we get to 350 then we'll have done well, good start and then lost 2, nay make that 3 quick wickets. Dawson,Carberry and Smith all gone, we'll do well to avoid the follow on.
  19. Diana Ross do what, doesn't that song come from a musical comedy about Don Quixote ?? Like You'll Never Walk Alone I suppose, most think that it's a G+Pm original although it's way older than that, Carousel, mid 50s I think.
  20. Same old same old then, to think that we had them at 22/3 and now they're approaching 450. Still some did say that bowling would be a problem again this summer.
  21. Looks like a decent start for Hants then, Sussex 20-2 (or 2 for 20 if you're Australian) after 10 overs or so, especially as Sussex chose to bat first.
  22. That's why he said minimum of course. He just got it wrong..doesn't really matter.,
  23. So as we're on 56 and if City lose they'll still be on 61 so that makes 5 points behind no ???
  24. 01) Are you sure ?
