  1. Star article seems somewhat flawed though, haven't Real already decided against signing Hernandez ? Perhaps no-one has told the Star that yet though, it was certainly in Marca or As about a week ago. Other than that the idea that Schweiny will ever leave Bayern goes into the realms of science fiction.
  2. Strootman may never play again apparently.
  3. In fact the RC Strasbourg structure that sold us Morgan actually ceased to exist in 2010 or 2011. They started over in the lower leagues and have so far made it back to the semi-pro "National"; They nearly got promoted this last season but were pipped on GD or something. I thus very much doubt if we owe them anything as they were totally wound up and everything became nulle and void. It's not like Saints where just the parent company went broke but the FC side remained active.
  4. It's just bolloaks that's being bandied about, every club in the PL, Serie A and La Liga seems to be interested in every player who thinks he might fancy a move sooner or later. During an idle moment the other day I worked out that Arsenal were "interested" in players with a total projected cost of half a billion £ this summer alone.
  5. And with what have we been paying the players, staff and diverse operating costs since then?
  6. We'll have to see how it pans out when the first few applications start to go through. Can't even remember what the conditions were actually fixed at in the end.
  7. But here we seem to be getting thrashed by Worcs, didn't we finish above them last season ? Have they improved where we haven't?
  8. I expect that's because he's not good enough, mind you Subasic is a very good keeper, they might take Areola as back up to him.
  9. Miranda is a work permit problem in waiting, the German bloke and Toby aren't. These new rules are going to bite into the number of transfers concerning non EU players who aren't regular internationals. At equal price clubs are going to go for the simple solution.
  10. All sounds like Atletico trying to drum up interest, Chelsea are supposed to be running after a CB from Stuttgart who'd cost far less than Toby I expect. That's the trouble these days, top,top clubs aren't only looking at the biggest names, they're looking for the best value and anyone overpriced will get left on the shelf, possibly until the selling club knock down the price, possibly until the next window. Look at Milner, I mean he's a good player right enough but he's also a free agent, which makes him highly desirable at even way over the salary that he'd usually merit..
  11. Also at the end of a career which only lasts about 15 years it's what you have to show for it that counts. No-one is going to remember getting beaten 1-0 at some Ukranian minnow in the play-offs for the Europa League. Trophies, titles and caps are all that count when you sum it up at the end. Who can remember who played for us in Bucharest 10 years ago, no doubt a few can but at Wembley in 1976, well even those who weren't there know what the side was.
  12. What is wrong with our batting just now? After a steady start (perhaps too steady) yesterday we have now collapsed to 139/5 again. True there's a nigh****chman in the men out but if our batting starts to fail us we're going to be in the deep brown.
  13. loan deals end at the end of the season as a rule, saw Falcao back in Monaco the other day. Why would they last any longer, it's not for the clubs taking the players on loan to pay for their holiday periods, that's down to the parent clubs.
  14. Never mind Wotton, Ryan Harley was supposed to be better and also a ginger haired rat playing for Milton Keynes.
  15. Cheap and sells shirts and package tours...what's not to like. Old rumour though, been kicking about since last Tuesday. Arsenal are interested in wait for it...about half a billion £s worth of players at this time, every hack and agent uses them to fill space and promote interest.
  16. Well that's Marseille for you, it's not just on football days either, totally lawless place most of the time, ne'er a week goes by without a couple of gangland shootings in the "quartiers".
  17. Isn't Prince Ali the VP of the Asian federation, you'd think his own people would vote for him wouldn't you. I was kind of surprised that he only got 73 votes actually what with the scandal and all.
  18. No he's signed at Bournemouth, he was out of contract at Saints.
  19. Tbf Bertrand was probably always a better player than Shaw, the instability of his situation probably did him no favours with the National set-up, a few games here, a few games there. Shaw is no great shakes and we did fantastically well to persuade Utd that he is. Then again our football last season was very persuasive, more so than this season I think, just because of it's fluency and spectacular value.
  20. Then why did so few vote for him ?
  21. Indeed they did, then again Prince Ali wasn't any sort of alternative really, I mean a Jordanian prince in charge of world football....Even Blatter was probably the better choice.
  22. Platini says that UEFA will decide what's to be done at their meeting on 6th June, day of the CL final. Some member federations have apparently asked that UEFA quits FIFA. Don't know if there'll be a vote on it though, probably just discussions which will no doubt end up with the status quo being maintained.
  23. Or a FM afficionado who has difficulty in separating the real and the virtuel. Yep must be that, he was telling us were prepared to bid 4 million for Ntep last evening. 4 million would be an insult to the player and to Rennes not to mention the intelligence of the common football fan.
  24. While we're on french players, we should have a look at Alfonse Areola, keeper who belongs to PSG but who they loan out every season. Now he could do a job for us whilst we wait for Frazer to get back to fitness. U20 world cup winner as well.
