We don't know what has been offered and how payment was proposed. We probably only got the originally proposed sums for Lallana and Shaw but the payment terms may have been better. More in advance and less adds-on. The press bandy sums about at will, people believe them, the buying club sizes down, the selling club sizes up. At the end of the day no-one really knows. Last years accounts may be revelatory on the sums paid for Wanyama and Lovren but I don't think anyone has really seen the detailed accounts.

No-one from the club has ever mentioned 35 million as far as I know, just the indirect official spokesman Guan 2.0 He started that, people took it as gospel that's all.

Aren't they all. Still most of those that read them don't actually bother to work out what's been said. Perhaps Reed himself is being strung along, who knows. It's easy to believe what you want to believe. Still the sales of Lovren and Schneiderlin haven't happened yet, there'll be plenty of time to reflect on Reed's quotes when they do.

Although some of the actions haven't actually happened...yet. If Lovren is transferred to Liverpool or anywhere else tomorrow for 20 million € then I think we can assume that the quotes and various other statements are just bullsh*t designed to string the fans along for some reason or other.
