Once again it depends on circumstances, even young players have contractual clauses nowadays which enable them to dictate their terms on certain matters. The ease with which Chambers appears to be leaving (if reports are correct) tells me that he had some sort of get out clause in his 2013 contract. In fact so many of our players contracts seem to date back to early 2013 when we weren't doing all that well so they could contain future behaviour clauses. It would kind of explain why despite all of our foot stamping and screaming until we're sick the players leave without the offers being significantly increased. Now take Shaw, Corky and VFFT have always maintained that he'd leave for 27.5 million£ and that goes way way back. OK Chelsea didn't buy him but Utd did and for the same sum. Says to me that somewhere in his contract 27 milion was a key to his departure.

Doubt it, they tried to get Newcastle to take him as part of the deal that took Debuchy to the Emirates but as he already had a release clause Toon didn't want to get shafted any more than they were already going to be. Heard something about him and Leicester but it was only FrenchGunner speculation I expect.

What's mental ? Something that might or might not be in the process of occuring ? There could be a perfectly logical explanation for Chamber's absence this evening. It's as clear as day that something is not right with the club, some players won't just sit in their seats until the inevitable train wreck happens or doesn't but they're not going to take the chance.

Who knows, hopefully it's just a coincidence that he's not in the group for tonight's game after the Twitter rumours exposed here this afternoon. Little injury or something. However if he should be sold to the Arse or anyone else for that matter it would be better to really start laying into the board or the owner, take your pick. He uses a very discreet agent that doesn't seem to do gabbing to the press. Probably doesn't need to though, potential buyers will be aware of the exact conditions of acquisition.

Really ? That seems really petty to me, individual match tickets you can understand but rooking those who are willing to spend 700£ of their hard earned in advance really seems to take the biscuit.
