  1. It's a life sentence though, still look on the bright side, you get occasional bright spots like the last few seasons.
  2. Probably thinks that his best shot is to try to buy players that he knows and has worked with before. Nothing wrong with that really except that most of them have no experience outside what I'd term lower leagues, Dutch, Scotland etc. Being thrown into the PL with a week's work behind you can be a shock to the system. He won't get the best of them either, too expensive or better offers.
  3. It's just press speculation. Says MP wants Morgan and JRod and doesn't seem to be interested in Chadli at all so they make a 2+2=? argument.
  4. Probably what 6 weeks of Hodgson's grandad set up does for you.
  5. He was out of contract Stevy, wasn't doing much and it was probably decided that we might as well try to get some rendement out of Mayuka or Sharp who are in contract.
  6. Does Guan tell us where his information comes from...guess not, yet that's gospel and Crabbie's is to be considered doubtful. Think it may come from somewhere in the Pochettino alliance though, just a hunch. The lad is at Uni here isn't he, plays for Totton?
  7. like Catherine the Great then, except that she had them killed.
  8. they usually are yes, bloke is a student of football. Been doing a series of articles on the complete structure of English football, visiting clubs in lower league etc.
  9. So early and on the face of it so unneccessarily.
  10. Markovic I expect, was to be a double pronger with Remy but now that's gone tits up. Suarez 30 goals last season, SRL and Markovic need to get 15 each then.
  11. spot on, except that more than 100 million will be banked. 91 million and counting from transfers alone as of today, not that we've received it all yet of course, When Morgan and Gaston go it will be up around 120 million. If you believe italian commentators we're even playing hard ball on Osvaldo, Inter want a loan, we want cash now.
  12. the cups are of little consequence in Spain, consolation prize for hard triers. Same as here in France, we even had an amateur club in the final a couple of years back.
  13. what, Wenger has commented on the affair, doesn't do that until it's all sealed. 11 million + adds on.
  14. probably why he's so universally detested down that way then, oh and the reported 6 million € pay-off for being sacked probably doesn't help his case.
  15. Although replacing Lovren numerically with a cheapo dutchman certainly won't cost us 20 million £. Whether the product will be of a similar quality remains to be seen. That's what we're doing you know, selling our better players and replacing them with cheap lookalikes from Holland and Dutch league. I've no ide if Koeman did that at Valencia, probably not.
  16. still there aren't they ?
  17. Krueger is nothing, he's culpable of being nothing except taking a job that he seems to have no qualification for. He's a gab artist and hockey expert, doesn't qualify him in any way shape or form to be an active Chairman of a top flight football club. Don't blame him for anything, he took a job because it was a job, he's nothing to do with the current situation. Turn your attentions to the Grey Eminence that we never hear from.
  18. It doesn't matter whether he turns into a 25 million £ or not, although that said a 25 million £ player won't be much in a couple of years time. He was a player that we had absolutely no reason to sell at this point in time. We don't need the money apparently but keeping the player would be handy. Arsenal don't need him right now although they're obviously keen to get hold of him, whether that was done now or in January or next June probably made no difference to them. Chambers is a better player than Jenkinson of course but Debuchy is solid and won't miss many games. No what we see here is the club selling a player because they had an offer that they just didn't have the gumption to turn down.
  19. Plenty of people have more money than good sense actually, as long as some idiot oliogarch or never never airline owner has profit from eleswhere to sink into some personal fantasy football clubs will find buyers. I mean look at PSG, sanctioned for financial non fair play what do they do, the spend 40 million £ on David Luis, and they'll sign Di Maria on loan for 15 million € a season. FFP means nothing to them unless the sanctions become prohibitive, reducing their CL squad to 21 instead of 25 means nothing whatsoever.
  20. or that he produces a note from his Mum saying that he couldn't play at Bournemouth last Friday because of a head cold or something.
  21. Ah them Argies, Pochettino was working on Bielsa for Vincent Labrune whilst in turn being worked on by Ossie himself.
  22. See him more of a DM myself, I'm pretty sure that's how Arsenal plan on using him, back up RB, substitute DM. He has all the qualities for the job and I'd have liked us to use him there towards the end of last season when necessary instead of the wimpish JWP who needs to be further forward.
  23. We won't be signing Jenkinson on loan, he'll be going elsewhere I expect.
  24. Think we'd be a good buy at 100 million or so myself, Lerner wants in excess of 200 million for Villa and I think they have some debt issues as well.
  25. I was referring to the power vaccuum in those states leading to disorder. Not that the club is like those states.
