Cortese speaking to BBC for first time since leaving Saints
Window Cleaner replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Why is Nicola in Milan then, thought he moved back to Ennetbaden. -
OK so let him get on with it and let's get those swans to spend on our team. Totally replaceable as a left back tbh. The board need to man up, admit that he's a gonner, secure all of the rest and buy the 3 or 4 players that we need to really move on to the next level. Just do not see the sense of beating about the bush any more, he's gone OK, move on. Kurzawa or the other Franco Pole from Nice, a striker, a keeper and a CB. Mauricio signs on the dotted line, everybody goes to the WC or on their hols, see you in July.

Jay Rodriguez interview on talkSPORT

Depends just how much money the "board" have available to invest. Perhaps it's not a case of will not but can not. -

Unsurprising, must really have fancied his chances of making the WC squad, in 4 years who knows, we might well have sunk back into obscurity by then and not be the be all and end all of England team selection. I noticed that Morgan told the french press yesterday that Mauricio has made him a completely different player. -

Probably more than one or two actually but as far as I can surmise most of the distinctly antis have had their nose put out of joint by Cortese in some way or other. Obviously a hard man to work for, then again anyone who implemented a strict work ethic might suffer the same reaction in the UK. -
Neither AFAIK, it was just a link that someone posted further up (or down depends which way you read the threads I guess).

Jorge Jesus is 59

Well yes, "things" happen at a rate of millions every nanosecond on a continual basis. Almost none of them have anything to do with Saint's manager situation though.
-
Yakin is rumoured to be going to Bastia strangely enough, bit of a step down for him I'd think.
-
I would like that, means that we'll definitely finish above them next season.
-
Why, have we asked to be voluntarily retrograded to the Championship ?
-
Odds are shortening on both of them, yesterday it was Mancini, day before that Benitez, a while back some other Italian bloke, I do wonder if the bookies give Spurs a cut on their profits for drawing the affair out for months on end.
-
Virtually no-one now but I was once. ....OSA/famous people, same thing, gabbing is not welcomed.
-
Well it does but as in football etc you need to have some basic continuity over a given period there tends to be a greater use of fixed term contracts than elsewhere. Employment law remains the same but it just avoids your senior players, managers etc giving a month or 3 months notice and wandering off into the sunset leaving you with a very specific role to fill. No doubt for non sporting roles contracts are for an indeterminate period as per usual.
-
Yes, put me down for that.
-
Thanks for that but when you are related to relatively famous people you tend to learn not to gab about them, you just fend off the questions politely.

So Reed is wielding the axe with his new found power, is that right ?
-
So they didn't get sacked for being shîte in the staff match then which resulted in RK's team losing 5-1 or something. We all know how much he likes to win.

Morgan Called Up for France WC Squad (Official)

Absolutely the way to go, we're nearer than we will probably ever be again if we let this group be spread out to the 4 winds. -

Well they have but they don't seem to want to pay the price, or at least they didn't on the 30th of January. Why pay 16 million £ when you can get a crocked old hack from Moscow on a 5 month loan. Arsenal's problem is their salarial mass and Wenger being a bit of a scrooge. Then again KL had said we weren't selling so that would have made her look a bit on the flitty side if they'd knocked the price down a couple of mill just to please the Arse. -
I'd be quite pleased actually, but it won't be that so I won't be if you get my drift. There was talk of a Sporting Director at one time, petered out and then Reed came out in the pre-Everton PC and said he was director in charge of football, that wasn't exactly his brief before I don't think. He was more axed on Sports Science and Youth Development. .

Morgan Called Up for France WC Squad (Official)

Here's another take on it, from L'Equipe this time, presumably from the same Clairefontaine interview this morning. . «Pour ma progression et ma visibilité, ce serait mieux de jouer dans un club qui dispute la Ligue des champions, a-t-il reconnu. Je sais qu’il y a beaucoup de spéculations, mais j’ai encore 3 ans de contrat, ça ne dépend pas que de moi. On verra bien dans les semaines à venir». For my progression and visibility (he means noticeabilty there), it would be better if I was playing for a CL club. I know that there is a lot of speculation but I've still got 3 years on my contract, thus it doesn't only depend on me. We'll see in the weeks to come.. -

Perhaps I should have translated that as "I'm not going to ask for a transfer" then. -

Southampton of course. -
Can't answer for Dodd don't know anything about the U18s but it's fairly noticeable that our young stars tend to bypass the U21s a bit. For me there is much too much wastage in that category.
