  1. Same bowlers as last season and the season before, they weren't great then can't see why they should suddenly be this season.
  2. They've used him most for their Europa League campaign, the return from that will largely cover whatever they've spent on Osvaldo's loan. Then there's the Italian Federation who may have incited Italian clubs to take him on on a temporary basis because he's part of their WC group.
  3. Because they're easy to sign due to the fluid nature of the Italian transfer system, you never know who's going to adapt and who isn't. I must say that I feel that our "recruiting department" whatever that may comprise is pretty useless in the majority of cases. A new sporting director may be just what we need because whoever has been filling the role these last 2 years is pretty poor (IMO of course). Now you may attribute that to Cortese or whoever on the board but the guy in charge of recruiting (Mitchell is it ?) and the scouts need a real overhaul because,Lee, Gazza,Foren,Mayuka,Gaston and Osvaldo have cost us a lot for absolutely no return whatsoever.
  4. So a trip to Australia then.
  5. Probably insisted on being the highest paid person at the club.
  6. A very small one then, with all fall out, radiation and other nocive effects stopping dead around Gosport...oh go on then... Titchfield.
  7. But Derby had no real intention of trying to stay up, they were there for the money and the PPs. Didn't they loan out their entire first team group or something to save money and make a record profit ?
  8. It's not about hype, good players don't always adapt, Gaston is just the latest in a long line of players particularly from the Italian league who've not adapted to the PL. English football is different from most other kinds, particularly in it's intensity. Some great players have failed to make the grade in the PL and then gone on to show real class elsewhere again. We saw this last night in the Chelsea PSG game, not one of PSG's half a billion £ side could handle the intensity of the Chelsea onslaught once they'd take the lead, the second goal was bound to come. In many countries a game lasts for about 30 minutes in real time and only 1 game in 3 or 4 is a toughy because of the poor quality of many sides in the league. In the UK every PL game is hard and relentless, there's no hiding place for wishy washy part timers, whatever their talents might be.
  9. Can't really see Bournemuth getting to the play-offs. That would probably be at the expense of Reading wouldn't it ?
  10. Unsurprising because the "science" used was extremely solid, if indeed that's all they had to go on. Pity a lot of time was spent (or wasted if you like) running after plastic junk seen on satellite images which was pretty obviously far too far south.
  11. Can't really take too much information from a game where nearly 2 days were lost to poor weather, never much hope of a result anyway.
  12. That's a serious allegation, I hope you have what you need to back it up then.
  13. Indeed, no Saints fan would even ask questions about hatred for Pompey, it's something you sign up for at the latest with your first match ticket in the home end, might even be marked on your birth certificate from the Southampton Registry Office ..
  14. I see Ramos is signing for Borussia Dortmund then I'll have to cross him off my wish list. Strange isn't it that in other leagues player transfers are all tied up and settled during the current season whereas in the UK we have to endure endless press speculation and bullsh*t rumours until mid-summer at least. Nicollin has announced that Ben Stambouli and Remi Cabella will probably be leaving the club this summer, we need to be in there pitching for Cabella now, not leave it until the last few days of August and find ourselves signing the dregs (like Osvaldo) that no-one else wants.
  15. Game petering out into the expected draw. Bowling carrying on in the same vein as last season, no bite or penetration. Hants 263 all out, Worcs 187-1.
  16. Unsurprisng really, no forseeable future at Saints.
  17. Why on earth would whoever was piloting the aircraft want a safe ditch, you don't need to go down to the Southern Indian Ocean to do a nice non-splasher, could have ditched at any time or tried a landing in the Cocos or somewhere else. The flyer didn't want the plane found so he probably sent it into a vertical dive the farthest from civilization that he/she could imagine and let nature take care of the rest..
  18. Every game is a must win game for Cardiff by virtue of the fact that they're 6 points adrift of the 17th placed club with an inferior GD and yet they've won 1 game out of their last 6 (against Fulham) Solskjaer obviously doesn't know what he's doing and evidently neither does Tan. Being a good manager coach in the Norwegian league means less than nothing in the elevated realms of the PL.
  19. Wright honestly? probably not even as good as Davis and that's not a glowing reference. There are plenty of decent keepers that most haven't even heard of and yet we keep getting the same old hack names trotted out time after time. If I was looking for a young keeper with talent I'd be asking PSG about a loan for Areola.
  20. On the bright side you could give them their pocket money in cocoa beans...........
  21. Vela is a difficult one to judge, last I heard he'd told the Mexican FA that he wasn't interested in going to the WC because he's fed up with football and just wants the season to end. Whether he's changed his mind by now I couldn't say.
  22. But Corky and VFTT have been telling us for months that 27.5 million is the agreed price, thought it was to Chelsea though. However Mourinho doesn't rate young players so United may well have stepped in as Buttner is iffy and Evra is going to Monaco or was it Milan. Probably look like Saintschester Utd up that way next season anyway.
  23. Obviously a bit dim then, they'd have ended up on Christmas Island and you really, really don't want to go there..well not as an illegal immigrant anyway.
  24. Strawberry Fields is what you need then Bearsy, see if they've got any on the fruit trolley.
  25. Personally you could colour me dubious over tha capacities of the UN to detect anything whatsover, any time anywhere. the UN is just a gabfest that does nothing unless they're forced to by one of the security council members. On the calm sea front there was a major cyclone in the region now being searched a couple of weeks back, nothing would have stayed where it was on the surface. Anything that was there at that time will probably be washed up on Christmas Island in about 3 months.
