  1. To be fair it's not the same thing really. A first team manager/coach has a direct effect on the team, a CEO doesn't really, especially when it's pretty clear that he's the number 2 anyway.
  2. So then never ending unanswered question, why did he resign before ? Presuming that the information that we received that he was working out his notice until 31st January and his leaving gift was already acquired was correct of course. That's one of the problems of this forum, people are always eager to give out snippets of information but never willing to back them up with reasons or explanations.
  3. Could be suicide, could be big bravery from a crew that had been hijacked for a terrorist attempt, knew everyone was going to die anyway so made it so that only those on board were victims and not thousands of people on the ground somewhere.
  4. And the maximum contract length is 5 years, could be just another year and more money I guess. Trouble with Lallana is whatever we may sell him for we absolutely have to give Bournemouth 25%, so if we did sell him for say 24 million (easy math for me) we'd have to give them 6 million. Wonder if we've ever tried to renogociate that with them, say a 3 million £ hand out now for all future sell-on rights.
  5. As you wish, although I think you jest sire.. The evidence is that there is no evidence.
  6. No it didn't, take that as read, it's just made up ******.
  7. Honestly those reports were never sustainable, if an unidentified aircraft had flown that low over the Maldives it would appear on the OTH radars at Diego, it obviously didn't so it didn't. It was always a crock of crap. They might have seen a low flying aircraft but it wasn't MH370.
  8. tbh I told you all that 2 weeks ago.
  9. The exact same theory was being put about from about the 12/14th March onwards, seems the Malaysians didn't want to accept until they had some sort of solid basis to uphold it, they still don't really but I guess they just grew tired of all the circus in KL.
  10. He will get better, he's snatching at his final ball/shot just now, might help if he started futher forward instead of presenting himself around the penalty box after an 60 yard dash.
  11. Might not even be anywhere near those fees, players could easily have release clauses, knowing Cortese though..... I can't see us getting more than 20 million for any player on our books just now.
  12. TBH the Doppler effect of an aircraft travelling at 600 kph and a geostationary satellite at 36000 km altitude would be minute, absolutely minute so they've done some good work there, if in fact that's what they've done and it's not a simple time/distance equation that was being touted on aviation forums 10 days ago.
  13. He certainly did a reasonable job at times last season, can't quite work out why he's tailed off in such a way.
  14. Why focus on the 19 goals away from home and completely set aside the 21 goals conceded in 15 home games ? If anything it's our home form that's insufficient and that needs to be addressed. Our defence is too young, any good defensive coach would admit that and do something about it. Why drop Clyne sometimes and play Chambers, to me Clyne has declined since we started doing that. To me both Chambers and Shaw are raw defensively.
  15. Ings will be in the Prem next season with Burnley anyway, can't see why he'd want to change, not for a mid-table club anyway.
  16. Replacement for Dejan, Jos is a left sider.
  17. probably the same one as we've not learnt all season, when you have fairly simple chances you just have to stick them away. Lallana is a great player but he does miss some sitters, could have put us 3-1 up yesterday and then they'd have been blown away. Just shoots straight at Lloris, Shaw does the same later on.
  18. I like Mauricio's style and hope that he decides to stay on but I don't want to see him having to do it with the weak squad that we have now. It will just go tits up eventually and that would be a shame.
  19. We had at least 3 clear chances to put the match away, Lallana scuff shotted 2 of them and Shaw got over eager and smashed the ball into a Spurs defender when he shoud have just slotted it inside the post, that's inexperience for you, a senior pro would have put that away. Shaw has score zero goals and has 1 assist this season, it's not really good enough for a player of his talent.
  20. Which idiots, the players or the management ?
  21. trouble is many of our better players will have Europe as a short term goal, there is no guarantee that they'll ever get it with us and some will look elsewhere this summer. Those that are 24/25/26 will want to move forwards before it's too late. So either we guarantee them a push for Europe next season with serious investment to counter our obvious weaknesses or we carry on in the all for the academy vein and lose our best players.
  22. And yet we started him in front of any other player yesterday, why do you think that was then. The obvious answer was as many said on the pre-match thread. Maya at the back and Lovren as a DM, he played there plenty of times for Lyon and does it well, that might have given us the solidity we needed but instead MP plays the wishy washy 5ft, 8 8 stone JWP against hard guys like Dembelé Bentaleb and Chadli. Sometimes I'm beginning to wonder if MP really, really knows what he's doing when we need alternative solutions. Going forward it's great, at the back not so much. There was no way JWP should have started as a DM yesterday.
  23. I think you just have to accept that defensively we are just not good enough, to correct that we need another top flight CB and a new LB, let Shaw play further forward because defensively he isn't anything special.
  24. You have to assume that challenging the "big boys" means achieving sporting success. We're not going to enrol millions of armchair fans to buy merchandise or sponsors to give us tens of millions by being 15th in the PL.
