We shall see at the end of the day how many people were actually lost, there is often great confusion on these occasions, why I remember the original estimates for 9/11 were running in the 10s of thousands. At the end of the day it was about 3000 including the plane passengers and unfortunately a lot of the peple who went to save people in peril who weren't actually there. Still I can imagine nothing worse than trying to get a bunch of Korean schoolgirls to stop screaming and start doing what was necessary.

Mauricio puts them on the bench, probably just to please Les Reed, apart from Gallagher they don't ever play. I mean last week we brought on Guly, Clyne and Gallagher, the rest are just there to make up the numbers.

Do kids really need all that ******, get them into a club where they can wear proper kit to play football and not just go round looking the part. People who buy kids kit deserve all they get, people who buy replica shirts deserve all the get and don't get me started on crap like garden gnomes and Saints curtains.

The Guardian: Interview with Ralph Krueger
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I just thought he was a crap manager, totally out of his depth in the PL and even in tough games in the Championship. -
Why is our financial situation difficult ? We owe a few transfer fees but they aren't overdue, that's football finance. We have a mega chunk of money coming our way from the PL. I mean if the board are panicking over a few million that aren't even due until next year that's not really understandable. Few clubs actually make money and those that do invest it in new players and facilities. If you want to make money build supermarkets or 24/7 shops. If our owner had real money surely she wouldn't be worried about a few quid that aren't even due until next year. Jeez even blokes like Gold and Sullivan don't worry about owing a few quid and they're paupers.

What's wrong with Fonte then ?

Pffff only 33 years, a real JCL. -
That would suit me.

How many do you think will be sold if any?

We don't really need to spend a lot of money, we just need to get our scouting right and be prepared to offer enough in salary to secure the services of good free agents. 50 K a week over 3 years will cost you about 7.5 million whereas deals like Gaston and Osvaldo will cost you at least 3 times that. Boruc is the only decent free agent that we've signed in years although Steve Davis was a bargain due to Rangers' troubles. -
That would do the trick yes, can't be that difficult really. New 3 year contract, more money and 35 million and the wherewithal to pay new players.
-
In fact Mauricio looked totally hacked off about answering the same unanswerable questions week after week. Didn't even seem to be au fait with the suggestion from the Krueger interview yesterday that there was any reason to fight to keep him here, then again perhaps he was just playing dumb. Krueger needs to clarify why he needs to "fight to keep Mauricio here" when the guy has a year left on his contract.

Gaston easing down for the WC then, he's not the only one, it's happening everywhere, always does in WC years.

Stays in the PL every season with substandard sides. that's quite a feat actually.

But within the range which could be expected from a failing power source. It's in the article. Why else would there be signals in the correct range of frequencies in that area, oh let me guess; someone put it there to veil the truth...yeah right.
-
Gallagher has pace apparenty, trouble is he doesn't know how best to harness it yet.
-
No it's based on equipment that listens for ultrasonic signals coming from below the sea. Where to listen for them may or may not be based on Inmarsat data, that we don't really know.
-
Well I think we've moved on to the "ping" data now. As you probably know this has been re-analysed and the search area has been drastically reduced, just one little tidbit for you there, it was the US Navy who told them how to reanalyse it..although that may be classified info, hope they don't lock me up in Russia or something.

Of course, we just cannot go into next season with the squad that we have now. Guly will be leaving, he'll need replacing, Fonte needs replacing because he's gone downhill of late, there is no way that we can expect to do significantly better without at least 4 new quality players. -
To be expected really. The plane was in theory out of fuel so none of that to float about, the hydraulic fluids used in that type of aircraft are phosphate esters which don't float and engine oil wouldn't leave a large nappe. Can only have come from a ship.

Seeing as we couldn't get Coutinho because he preferred Liverpool then I'd really doubt that we could have got Suarez, anyway weren't we in League 1 at the time ? Saints are at the bottom of the pecking order when it comes to top rate players, you have to admit that and move on. It won't get any better until we have a better status in the game, that's why we need to hang on to Schneiderlin and Lallana if we can because getting replacements of their quality will be difficult for us...don't care about Shaw. -
If one was wanting to be unfair to Mannone you'd have to ask how much City paid him to do that wouldn't you. Absolutely Sunday League keeping at that moment.
-
Yes he does although I'm not sure that he means to be all that disparaging towards Wanyama. Just trying to point out the difference in style and effect between Cork and Wanyama I think. He also questions Victor's stamina( once again as of yet) to play our style for 90 minutes.
-
He makes this point in the paragraph dealing with Cork and Wanyama. Says Wanyama is static and has little endurance (yet) and that hampers Morgan's possibility of moving around which he likes to do. He's not very complimentary on Wanyama at all, says his game is to be static in front of the defence, win the ball and lay it off with a 4-5 yard pass, when he (Wanyama) tries to anything other than that ie a longer pass or a run, we tend to end up losing the ball.
-
It says that Wanyama doesn't have the engine to make runs actually. Reading it in French you get the idea that Morgan isn't totally enamoured of playing with Victor, by far prefers Cork.

Indeed the only thing separating Utd from the Top 4 just now is the 3 home defeats they suffered in December/January. They'll probably still finish above Everton and to think that we wre once confident of finishing above them until our failure to score when it counts knocked us back.
