  1. Many expect us to field a ridiculously weak side just so that their chances of Wembley days out are optimised.
  2. We will never play a team as weak as that in the PL, the result would be disgracefully shamemaking. team tomorrow night will be roughly as per usual, they'll be expected to win tomorrow and again on Saturday. We don't have enough players that's all so the same just have to shoulder the load week in week out, some will pay the price for that by not being selected for their respective nations at the WC.
  3. because we had U18 and U21 games against Arsenal this weekend ? When that happens I'd think we barely have enough players to go round. Isgrove was injured for long while and probably isn't anywhere near match fit yet; So he played half a game in the Us and then was on the bench to make up the numbers for the first team. None of the other numbers makeruppers get any game time anyway.
  4. too many games and too few players. We saw that on Saturday, some of our lads look knackered and we've nothing else in the kitbag. If we want to have a good chance next Saturday we'll have to risk a sub standard side on Tuesday. We have what 14 fit senior pros (over 21s) and 3 kids who play most games, that just isn't enough to expect to win most games.
  5. Clueless, now in men's rugby the Australian number 11 wouldn't just put in the tackle on the England number 11, he'd give him a sly kick when walking away as well.
  6. because just anyone doesn't fit the bill. If we were that desperate we'd have kept Sharp (see he got sent off on Saturday) or even Barnard.
  7. Lovren is in the Croatian group for their March friendlies so that should mean that he's approaching game fitness level.
  8. What reserves would that be then, we only have just about enough players to make up the match 18 just now. In fact we put players onto the bench who have no chance whatsoever of getting any game time. I'd give Jonnoquick a number and put him on the bench at Hull if Gallagher isn't available, can't be any more redundant than Isgrove would seem to be.
  9. Cork is a mopper upper, picks up a lot of loose ball but doesn't really put in enough tackles or make interceptions on his own account.
  10. Stange that VW didn't come on at all yesterday don't you think, might not even have been fit enough to play for 20 minutes then because we could certainly have done with something different in the 2nd half, even send him on instead of Lambert or JRod and use him as a battering ram in attack. Didn't MP say he'd gotten a knock against Fulham ?
  11. A draw would be a good result for us, think we'll get beaten myself, too many games and too few players to play them. Might change my opinion if Gaston or Dejan suddenly became available though.
  12. No he didn't, no yellows for Saints today. Free kick given against him though.
  13. If you say so then.
  14. We were hoofing far too much ourselves. Not enough at the sharp end again against a side that defends well. Needed Gaston to provide a bit of imagination.
  15. Same old last ditch dirty tackle...different ref.
  16. what a gabfest.....
  17. Well he is actually, set up both of their goals last week, fits in perfectly with the way they play.
  18. Wasn't the kick-off at Stoke delayed as well ?
  19. Well as far as I can gather it's to reassure the "fans" that the new management mean to develop the club and not sell us to the highest bidding Far East whack job come May. As Mauricio said himself, he's got a contract up until the end of next season and there's no rush over a new one. That's the trouble with "fans", the more you pander to them, the more they want.
  20. Add to that the continual jaunts around the globe for WC qualifiers, Confederations Cup games etc and you have a young man who is completely destabilised. Ah but Suarez still scores a lot of goals I hear you say, but the c**t got a convenient 10 match suspension though didn't he so he had plenty of time to recover from all the rest of the football.
  21. Hmmm, just needs a bit of Waterman's finest carmine red ink and that would closely resemble a Harry Spooner destruction of one of my finest 3rd form bike shed essays.:uhoh:
  22. And yet he chucked one of his favourite players in the trash can without giving him a chance in the PL. Brought Sharp here on the basis that it was 'his best chance of PL football" and then binned him after 4 months.
  23. And yet the fact that Adkins had some of those players at his disposal in something little better than Sunday league football (on occasions) made him a great manager. When you have a side with at least 5 players who can command starters places in the PL getting out of League 1 is no achievement.
  24. 30 month contract (well roughly anyway, up until June of next year)
