Exactly Um, none of us can knows what he expects but from the soundbites it would seem like mounting a serious challenge for Europe this season and doing it with what we've got already and what we can find in the academy. He was ruthless with Adkins and if we should say, fall below Hull or Villa I can well see him being ruthless again. Pardew's position above us with a lesser side must be hacking him off. He'll look at Spurs, ruthless sacking and then winning 3 and drawing 1 out of the next 4 will tempt him sorely.

Realistic target placing next season - current squad?
Window Cleaner replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
I think you might find that he thinks that he has made "consistent investment" although far too much of it has been wasted on no hopers and underperformers. The fact that Saints have about 50 million £'s worth of "talent" that does absolutely sod all might be p*ssing him off somewhat. -

could be that, or it just could be the placing of the match as last year they were up to their ears in the Europa League. We didn't look like the same side as on that day though, probably due to injuries and general fatigue. -

The "realistic placing" will be whatever target Cortese has set. I don't think that we're currently in it. -

which is of course why we beat them last year. -
is Osvaldo fit , is he going to be suspended before Saturday next, you just can't say, I like him but he's a waste of money.
-
I just couldn't say, I'm not Nicola Cortese, I don't know the targets set or how he'll have viewed our disastrous run of 1 win in 9 games. I'm hoping he'd be tolerant and understanding about it but I wouldn't wager any significant sum on that. I don't know how he'll have viewed spending 13 million quid on a sick-note, bad tempered player either.

Torres didn't get a flukey goal, he showed us that a real striker never gives up, watches the flight of the ball and is ready to pounce on it if it comes back off the keeper, the post or the bar. He was absolutely destroying us down our left all of the first half as well.
-
I don't actually think anyone will give us much money for him, might loan him out though.

held back from every tackle, every crunch moment, there can only be so many reasons for that, either the club have punished him for his suspension and he's proving a point or he's on his way out. If he was injured we'd have subbed him. -

Puncheon wanted to leave on loan, he requested it, he needed to be in South London for his own reasons and we let him go. If we'd have retained him against his wish then we'd probably have got less than nothing out of him. -

not that bad, everything he did was pointless, missed every tackle, got caught on the ball most times and just passed 5 yards each time, mark my words something is going on with him. -

I am Morgan's biggest fan and I was absolutely dumbstruck to see what he did today, he's either on his way out, ill or injured (or both) or he's been drastically fined by the club for getting a 5th booking and missing the Everton game and has put in a transfer request. No idea but something just wasn't right today, never seen him like it before. -

did you not see how bad Schneiderlin was today ? He should have been subbed, we were awful, absolutely awful and I'm not usually the first one to say that. We just couldn't control the ball anywhere, every time we got near it it seemed to bobble up and end up with a Chelsea player, worst match of the season. -

But usually we don't have too much problem dealing with those sort of attacks. Don't know what game most of you saw but I thought we looked totally out of sorts everywhere on the pitch. To me it looked like something unpleasant had gone down since Sunday. Why was Shaw subbed ? -
has he been sacked then? won't be long if not.

we can play the U 14 girls for all I care, the first teamers need some R+R.

so why didn't Morgan get taken off, he was rubbish, Cork had been booked but even if he'd been sent off it looked like we were playing with 10 men anyway. -
1st player IN, 1st player OUT sweepstake

Thought Morgan was absolutely awful, not even interested and he should have been the least tired player on our side (barring Davis and perhaps Gaston) something isn't right with him. Maybe he actually believed in the Top 6 dream. -
As if that could make up for the rubbish we presented today, never seen Morgan have such a bad game for us, don't know why he wasn't subbed before half time, just didn't look interested, something is going on with him, must be the one that's having "personal problems". As for Shaw, did his mum send a note in a half time saying he wasn't allowed to play in the rain or did Chelsea bring the cheque round.
-
yep me too, absolute rubbish today.

The Razor's Edge and all that.

can't have been a recent photo, you wouldn't want to hang about in Millau in short sleeves at this time of year.
