No it's a colloquial expression, means blow fuses, act stupidly, go over the top etc etc. Peter means to fart but also to burst or suddenly stop working in an explosive manner.. Ma télé a pété, doesn't mean the TV has farted, it means it's blown up or just simply stopped working suddenly.

For the francophones: From this morning's L'Equipe Don't have time to translate it all now, Mrs says I have to go to the shops when I've finished my cuppa. http://kickoff.blogs.lequipe.fr/?p=508

Saints make 8 million bid for Athletico's Adrian Lopez

Anyone with a pair of boots would fit that description -
Right in the crapper, that's where we would be, just confirmation of what I've said all along, NA wanted nothing to do with Boruc, he had his binkie and there was only 1 keeper at SFC. Got him sacked.
-
well that would be Cech playing for Czech Rep on Friday and again next Wednesday Cole+Lampard for England Friday and Wednesday Azpilicueta and Mata for Spain, (Finland Friday+France mercredi) Ba for Senegal against err Angola on Saturday Hazard for Belgium home and away against Macedonia Friday and Wednesday Ivanovic must be playing for Serbia somewhere, unless he's injured Obi Mikel and Moses will have a game for Nigeria on Saturday, Kenya I believe There must be a couple of others and then there are the Brazilians.

See he's got the watch then. Have we only got the 1 pen then, always the same. There will be a clique mentality at the club soon, those with "the watch" and those without.

But that would be "accurate shooting". Has a lot of sexual encounters with bears does she? -

In fact we have a couple of players who you just know will waste every chance they get, Cork and Lallana both had reasonable chances early on against QPR, either converted would have changed trhe course of the match but they snatched at them and troubled the corner flag more than the keeper. No confidence when shooting is a bugbear, if they'd been hiiting the target regularly they'd probably have done far better. Look at Morgan, a right old donkey in front of goal up until this season but now he's got the gnaque of it it's gotten much better. -
Clubs with superior financial clout and superior sporting projects can always buy whoever they want. Might get turned down at first on occasions but if they really want the player they will get him. Long term contracts mean nothing apart from a sort of financial securisation for the selling club. Only got to look at a couple of transfers involving young english "future stars" Jones and Henderson, both had longish and recently renewed contracts but when Utd and Liverpool came calling with silly money those contracts weren't worth the paper they were written on. Just upped the ante a wee bit. Players in the main want success, to be all they can be and if their actual club is going nowhere fast they'll jump ship.

To get out of League 1 he had a side including Lallana,Schneiderlin,Lambert,Fonte, Puncheon and AOC so a side in League 1 with 6 players who have become PL regulars. To get out of the NPC he had the above (less AOC of course) plus Cork and Jos, so is getting a side with 7 players capable of holding their own in the PL promoted some sort of mega-feat, I don't really think so. Adkins always had all he needed to get to the PL quickly, it just needed pointing in the roughly right direction. However his first dabbles with the PL showed him to be not quite up to the level so he was sacked after being given a better chance than many. -
So Guardiola turned us down huh :D:D But on a serious note I've always wondered how Adkins survived beyond that point.

Deschamps only looks at players with European competition to their name. Morgan won't get the nod until he's with a club Deschamps has heard of or Deschamps is gone. Morgan did himself untold harm vis a vis international selection in dropping down to League 1 with us and the FFF won't forget that they told him not to do that.

Thing about that game was a: we started with Fox and b: Lallana went off after 40 odd minutes. Both those things would be extremely perturbing to any system. We'd used 2 forced subs (including sending on a vastly dimished Shaw after 57') before the hour was up. If we had just converted one of our early chances the game would have been different. Green was pretty amazing when he came on and that gave them a boost as well. It was just a combination of circumstances that day. It happens in football. -

Nothing wrong, how can you say that with the mess he made of the GK situation? If anything is going to cost us PL status this season it's that. If we had got it right last summer instead of him insisting on continuing with KD at all cost we would now probably be on somewhere around 40 points. -

and yet it's a better percentage than 5 in 22. -
nope, increases his value and gives him a stronger bargaining basis as well as doing a favour to a club where he's been for 5 years. Still see him at M U next season. He wants to be in the squad come June 2014, Deschamps is a "big" club pundit, if Morgan was at Juventus,Lyon or PSG he'd have got the nod before Gonalons or Pogba before now. Staying at Saints is restricting his chance of being in Brazil in June 2014. He knows it.

In fact I'd say the plan is 3rd in the PL, win the Cup and make the final of the Europa League. Rafa won't want to get beaten in the Cup Replay, we all know how it stands between he and Sir Alex. Plus they'll have a shedload of players coming back from international duties.

still might, you'd have to colour me dubious about him still being here on the opening day of next season .

tbh for my part I was never a great fan of NA. Always thought he'd hit the buffers sooner or later. Wouldn't have got past the first 10 games this season, if it was up to me (which it obviously wasn't) Must be said that amongst all the posters of this forum we were in a minority of about 4 though. -

we failed to convert our chances against QPR, they didn't. It's a big failing with the Saints on occasions. -
Gerrard was an excellent player, should have moved on at his peak. Same as MLT really. Top players need new challenges from time to time to avoid stagnation no matter how much the fans love them. Still think a couple of ours will need to move on within a couple of years to exploit their full potential.

And yet even the Chelsea park the bus schema shows real managerial ability, try to get Drogba to track back and tackle in his own box...now that would defeat most managers. -

Pochettino obviously, for me NA was only as good as the players he had at his disposal. When he has a squad that needs managing because most of them aren't playing way below their level we shall see just how good his managerial abilities really are. 2 successive promotions...well with half a PL team at his disposal it really isn't a surprise. I shall never forget the danger he put us into with his crass mishandling of the keeper situation, for me that shows his level. -
I'd by far rather face Ba than Torres, don't rate Ba over highly, too erratic. Torres is still a hard player to handle. Ba is up and down, the middle, Torres is everywhere and dangerous if his stuff comes off.
