Barry comes from a fair way back, must have put in a bit of an effort to get there and may not really know where he is, still he can see the goal I guess and in theory should have put it wide. But if you look closely just until the instant where he plays the ball he has his head turned to the left and he's not looking towards the goal. He knows that if he doesn't do something JRod will just tap it in so leaving it alone isn't an option but not looking where he's going is a fatal error..

I know a coach who worked at Lens in their heyday; They had a lot of Africans (sold most of them to Pompey) at that time and he told me that the trouble with the ACON is that the players get into the African rhythm and come back fat,slow and lazy. Took them most of the rest of the season to re-adapt after 3 or 4 weeks down there. We saw this with Touré yesterday, no pace, no intensity in his game.

because they had good'ish start to the season, we had an atrocious one. They had some sort of basic PL experience throughout the set-up and we had virtually none. If we'd got any much better than 4 points from our first 10 games we'd be top 7 or 8 by now. We've taken 23 points from 16 games so without the awful start we'd be well ahead of them. Not to mention Gazza's gifties, but then again I always do because without them we'd now be above West Ham, bad start and all.

not really heard much hype about him really, he's always been big a bustling type, he collided with my lad in a tyro tournament once at Nogent sur Marne and apparently it's like getting hit by a train. You have to have either the right kind of single player or 2 who can do half the job equally well. Players with massive engines. When you already have the player who's run the furthest of all in the PL season and who has put in the most tackles and interceptions you're off to a good start. When you have another one just like him you're even better equipped.
