L'Equipe bang the drum for a Schneiderlin call-up
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
we will have to see when the group for the S Am tour is announced. Personally I'm still sceptic but then I think DD is an absolute knob capable of the greatest "aneries". As long as a player is touted as the next ".....", fill in name of one of his 1998 cronies, he'll get the nod. Benzema gets a game despite the fact that he hasn"t scored since the Great War because his mate Zidane is something in the mechanism at Real, likewise Pogba who showed that he hasn't the maitrise for big games as yet. Don't get me started on Matuidi either, totally readable, when he's going to kick the ball in a direction he always dips the knee on the other side. -
realistically they'd have to beat Wigan,Toon,Stoke and Reading in that then, all good for us. If they should have a miracle end of season they'll just take one of our other rivals down.

When you've only got 57£ a week to live on that's what you have to do isn't it? Unless you like sponging from parents and grannies and stuff that is. When I was a grad student I was pretty poor, living in West London on not much, you get used to it in the end.. What aways gets me when people moan about their meagre disposable revenues is when they light up about 3 fags whilst they're doing it.

If anything the majority of the lads just looked pleased enough but exhausted. Many of them spent a fair old while saluting the fans so perhaps a bit of their exhuberance was spent on that. They have to get in the ice baths straight after the game as well I think.
-
they did indeed and then sold most of their players. don't know much about Sané, wouldn't have thought he was a PL class defender though. only two players remotely worth looking at at Bordeaux just now but as we need neither a right back nor a striker don't see them being targets for us.

70K a month would be far too much for the utility of the bloke. Still fans do like to grossly exagerate when they're talking about their favourites pay cheque. The figures are roughly worked out by journalists per match and then that's often extrapolated into a per week figure. Most of the players reported on '100K a week" are probably on about half of that.

tbh don't think he's reffed a Saints game at any time in the recent past, last couple of seasons that is.

Realistic target placing next season - current squad?

And a big wedge of GD to boot. We are still a virtual 5 points clear of Wigan and Villa. The situation at the top of the table will induce Citeh to try to crush every side they play cos it's going to get tight up at 2/3/4 and 5. Wigan or Villa will go down, Reading and QPR are already gone, no matter what they do they won't get enough points to survive. -
Sunderland-Villa, Wigan-Villa and Tottenham-Chelsea will as likely as not decide the third and final relegation place. Villa are still my favourites to fill it.

What again ? :smug:

like they're going to escape relegation with draws. They have to win 5 out of 7 at least so there are no no-win matches for them. They have to come looking for us and for a Pochettino side that's the equivalent of the famous Inspector Harry catch phrase "Go ahead, make my day".
-
Summer signings, which positions ?
Window Cleaner replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
All good stuff but I bet at least 1 of our top players will be sold and will need replacing -
Reading will need to win 5 out of 7 if they're to have a chance of staying up, if their GD was better maybe 4 and 2 draws but as they're at -25 they'll need at least 5 wins. Don't know much about their style of play but if Adkins tries to make them suddenly pass out from the back our CMs will pounce on them and have a field day.

pffffff anyone who had the misfortune to watch Lyon get walloped by relegation candidates Sochaux yesterday would know that Gonalons is only good on paper most of the time..

Team playing well under Pochettino: MYTH

Chelsea don't look any better today than they did on Saturday. Ramires is p*ss poor and Lampard looked far better. -
be content with a draw myself.

from where ?

Remaining Fixtures for bottom teams...
Window Cleaner replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Villa have to play Stoke,Sunderland,Norwich and Wigan I think. If Villa escape relegation one of those 4 probably won't. -
Rickie Lambert news tomorrow morning?
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Is not tomorrow the 1st of April ??? -
Think we will need at least 40 points
Window Cleaner replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
nope Villa won't get 41 points from where they are now. 38 will do easily. -
I thought in the last 20/25 minutes yesterday that we had at last mastered the art of winning ugly. Not to say that we weren't brilliant in the first half but when some well concealed nastiness was required the lads had it in their locker. MP was like that at PSG.

MON Sacked / Di Canio Appointed at Sunderland
Window Cleaner replied to Olallana's topic in The Saints
Sunderland have a very medioce side, couldn't say whether that's O'Neill's fault or not though, dont take much interest in them tbh. I mean if you're forced into playing Titus Bramble because you've no-one else fit youre on a hiding to nothing arent you. -
Didn't see too many errors from Maya tbh, probably our best CB just now.

not really, a couple of them were already here before Pardew, AOC came from the Academy etc. All I'm sayng is thatwith the side he had promotion was a formality without the -10 points. Still finished second though, probably due to the woefully thought out Wilkins period. Although when I said "anyone" I forgot to exclude Dean Wilkins...
