I can pass on Boruc, just needed to make up our mind and get on with that in May or June but then I'd think he was looking for more money and a longer contract then. Think he'll come good, if only we had a defence. None of them would make most PL sides, including Clyne cos he's just too lightweight at the moment.

In fact what we didn't get is what we're missing most of all.

Chelsea at home would have been a good money spinner but as I'd guess we're not paying out too many bonuses just now it won't make much difference.

It's something I could well believe but then I'm pretty credulous. One thing that always puzzles me is Billy Sharp, think NA made a big pitch to get him here with the prospective of PL football and then he gets shipped out after just a couple of sub appearances in the PL; Sharp says (well if you believe the BBC anyway) that NA told him it was the best thing for him(going to Forest that is). Now I'm not at all sure that NA is the sort of bloke who would sell the club to a protegee in January and then dump him in August, seems he'd have a bit more faith than that.

For me the only 2 signings that you could bet your house on as being Adkins signings would be Forte and Sharp with Chaplow being a strong possibility. All the rest are down to the nebulous "transfer committee".

you can't sack players, you can wait until their contracts expire or you can sell them or loan them out. One of the unfortunate aspects of fixed term contracts I'm afraid.

think they're long gone anyway, financially speaking anyway. There's the equity of course but no doubt they've written that off already.

Whilst I don't think he's trying to pick the team I do think he's had a fair amount of undue influence on the hirings and firings and that affects the team at the end of the day.

He's got a contract up until June 2015 and that's by far long enough. In fact we may not be able to afford to sack him, even at 20K a week we'd be looking at nigh on 3 million..

And he's still on the bench from time to time, absolutely woeful player, should have been shipped back to Yeovil or Exeter by now. Why we ship out Martin and keep Seaborne just beggars belief. It's either about money or someone's judgement is catastrophically bad. Then again I guess someone may have thought Martin would keep one of the wonder kids off the team sheet.

Came in April 2010 and the bolloaks started not long afterwards. Still don't know why we sacked Pardew (apart from the usual speculation that is) maybe he just got himself sacked to go to Newcastle with a pay-off, I don't know.

But what we put on to the pitch was woefully outclassed, I just can't see why so many fail to accept that De Ridder ,Butterfield,Seaborne, Chaplow etc are just very poor footballers. They should have been shipped out to anyone who would take them last summer. Tweeting doesn't make you a good player, neither does sticking a cardboard box on your head.

Doesn't augure well that the commentators gets one of the first thing he says wrong . In 79 the League Cup final was between Saints and Forest, we beat Leeds in the semis, you'd think they'd check their facts before spouting ****** wouldn't you.

You only had to look at the team sheet to know that the performance would be bad but that's not the question. The question is why we, a Premier League side, have so many poor players on our squad and no real depth.

DD was really positive all summer though, seem to remember him taking me to task because I criticised our transfer dealings.

Shearer has management experience though, didn't he get Newcastle relegated when he had an 8 match stint there at the end of one season?
