  1. can they turn down a selection like that without being sanctioned ?
  2. named after the album by Don Fagen who we all know is an ancient member of Steely Dan. In fact Rickie don't lose that number (of goals scored) is quite apt really.
  3. Indeed, it's not the players it's the manager's use of them. Since he has started wanting to play both JRod and SRL again we've gone tits up. Nigel...it's JRod or Rickie but not both.
  4. no, Mary Corbett.
  5. Ah no,that's down to the transfer commitee I'm afraid. Who is to blame is the idiot who wanted JRod at all costs last summer, there was plenty of time to get him in January. I do not doubt that was someone who thinks he is in with the England set up. We did not need JRod,Mayuka and Lambert when we had Sharp and Lee in reserve.
  6. Trouble is our powder puff defence needs 3 CMs in front of it so there are only places for 3 attackers and you've got 4. The Man U set up was the right one.
  7. Lallana isn't a CM, he's an attacking player. If we do not stop trying to shoe him in somewhere where he doesn't fit we will suffer. If you want to play 3 CMs it has to be Cork,Morgan and either Davis or JWP..same formation that was reasonably succesful at the start of the season. Then choices have to be made cos there's 3 places available for front men and we have a whole lot of them, you either have to drop JRod or Lallana if you want to start with Ramirez and SRL.
  8. Yep, our debacle is all his own work. It's about bad management and bad coaching. Then, again with Wilkins involved in it anywhere what can you expect really.
  9. I know who h is, not sure that I give a sh*t about his opinion though. Woeful, woeful footballer.
  10. Like almost every continental football manager where the president or/and the board buy the players and the manager gets to work out how best to use them.
  11. think we tried it last season, not an overwhelming success if I remember correctly.
  12. Of course Cortese doesn't pick the team, that's just a dumbass theory dreamt up by those who refuse to accept that NA doesn't really know what he's doing.
  13. Bearsy has probably gone the way of many a young poster...he's either discovered girls or work or both..
  14. how can he take another job when he has a contract until 2015 with us, Blackpool would never be able to afford the compensation. Until NC decides he can leave he's not likely to go anywhere.
  15. probably does a couple of fashion shows for Yves St Laurent and Christian LaCroix, at least when he's not putting in more tackles and interceptions than every other player in our side. Needs to clear off out of it to a side where he gets better support than from the useless Davis and the powder puff Lallana.
  16. Well I think it's those making the assessment who don't have the clue really. Allardyce is obviously a decent manager and we'd do well to get someone like him if we want to start out on the road to premier league success. I really really don't think NA is going to make the grade. Whether that's because he himself has set out his stall to play entertaining football or a Barca fixation has been imposed on him (something a real manager would never let happen) it just doesn't matter. I've never understood why we sacked Pardew and wish he was still here, whatever he'd done couldn't be as grave as the mess we're making now.
  17. Now I'd say that the definition of your average Premier League manager is someone who realises that not losing is at least as important as winning. Allardyce is a Premier League manager, people seem to hate him and everything he stands for but his sides are hard to beat. Unattractive certainly but me, I'd just as soon a shady 1-0 win or a 2-2 borefest as getting done 2-0 at home all the time but amusing the fans. I want a manager who knows how not to lose to start with, the rest will follow.
  18. Pity that leftback was so soon banned, probably the nearest thing we've ever had to the real workings of SFC.
  19. this is the right side and the one that should have played on Monday last (if Cork was fit of course) Davis is poor and is turning all those around him into mediocre players as well. It's Lambert or JROd and certainly not both.
  20. perhaps Cortese remembers what happened the last time he sacked a manager(a manager who's side finished in the top few of the PL last season I might add) with no replacement lined up. If so it at least shows that someone in our organisation has learnt from past mistakes. Pity the manager hasn't done the same thing. Lambert + Rodriguez+Lallana+Ramirez away from home is just crass stupidity and the fact that NA is generally well thought of by the fans is what gives rise to the idea that he doesn't pick the team.
  21. As we've lost 8 out of 10 already there is absolutely no reason to believe that Swansea will be anything different. Always hopeful though, I always believe we'll win our next game.
  22. Just can't quite see why it's taking so long myself. Should have been gone weeks ago, the longer it takes the worse it will get. Just finished looking through the WBA game again, side is totally demoralised and as the Mail piece says, plenty of them know Adkins is finished with us.
  23. Lallana has had some very poor notations on whoscored of late. According to them he was only noted better than Gazza on Tuesday night.
  24. I'm beginning to think that quite a few of our players are devestated by our start, in particular those who've waited so long for PL football.
  25. Is it just me or does anyone else think that we're getting a little bit worse with every game that we play? Perhaps we're playing with injuries and stuff.
