not just the greens, the loony left and the extreme right as well. If you look at governments formed on a basis proportional representation you have all the colours of the rainbow and the shady areas beyond.
-
No it makes the Tories as they always were, a party with an alternate chance of government and the lib dems clueless turncoats who'll do and say anything to get a foot into the corridors of powers...as they always were in fact.

Trouble is the average League 1 gate is dragged down by the minnows that get home gates of 3000 ish. I'd expect there to be a bit more homogenity in the NPC although there are obvious exceptions who get 5/6K. If you drew up a list I'd think more clubs would be closer to the mean in the NPC than in L1.

Thing is don't think we'd want to sell STs twice in 1 financial year.As we only started selling them in July last year selling them now may cause accounting problems.

Best got 5K a week even back in the 70s,doubt if Gobern gets half of that even now. Income tax must be pretty fruity for the single lads as well. -
Well he isn't so he won't be.

Huddersfield have already thrown in the towel !!
Window Cleaner replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
Doubt it, the original figure of 6 isn't right, Swindon scored at SMS,so did Oldham,2 Brentford,2 MK Dons,1 Huddersfield I'm sure that there are others. Saints have concede 12 at home this season in the league, 1 on opening day, 1 against Orient I think. The others are down to NA's reign. -
I expect there'll be a good crowd all the, same, a chance to see promotion winning saints for free shouldn't be missed. Out of interest anyone know when the first XI last turned out with free tickets for anyone who asks and is on the DB (and who isn't?)

Trouble is that as you climb in the hierarchy technical ability becomes more and more determining. You can play in the Southern League with 100% huff and puff and no ability, the league we're leaving behind would probably go about 80/20,next step up about 50/50.

Should we be at all concerned about Nigel Adkins leaving?
Window Cleaner replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
I think most of us assumed it was automatic promotion or nothing for Nigel to be here next season.. -

Purely academic as we won't lose to Walsall by 7. -

No and No -
We can always change at Portswood junction when we notice that the crumpet on the bus behind is better looking.

not even then,we'd still go up by 1 goal on GD,think we've scored more as well. -

Not bizarre at all, they know that they're not going to make up a 17 goal difference in one match. We'd have done the same I expect, makes shifting the tickets a bit easier. -
A full season at 2.18/game would give us about 100 points, exactly what I predicted for the season. Trouble is I didn't know there'd be a disastrous 4 match Wilkinstime interlude.
-
Get someone who is to get them for you.Must be a neighbour or a work colleague who's on the DB. Don't know if they check identities when giving out the tickets, can't be all that difficult to get surely.

are they going to count matches you nearly won but then lost as a draw then?? Like Walsall away.........

Who would you like to win the Play-Offs? (League 1)
Window Cleaner replied to Nexstar's topic in The Saints
How many points did they get from those 24 games unbeaten though?? The tariff for getting out of this league is pretty clear 2 points a game give or take a couple, you can go through a whole season unbeaten and still end up with only 46 points and get relegated.Once they lost Pilkington their strike force faded a bit and they drew too many games. We proved it ,you need to be on the up and up at the end, not falling away relying on the points you already have to get you promoted. -
Perhaps on Sunday, Saturday ? not so sure.

blew it didn't they, didn't make the final even, which was,IIRC, between Swindon and Millwall. I can see them beating Bournemouth and then I can see a very motivated Peterborough, who realised that it was the play-offs for them a while back, crapping all over them at Old Trafford. Huddersfield do not impress me, too much huff and puff and last minute equalisers to be taken seriously. -
Huddersfield appreciation/respect thread

that's handy then, I'm a rocket scientist of sorts  -
just goes to show that defence is primordial in winning promotion. When you're not conceding goals you always have a chance. Not much criticism of the CBs is there.

Especially as he has a contract at Stoke until 2013 and will no doubt be playing in Europe with them this season.
