There was no need to do that, we should have gotten someone a darn sight better.Why change a manager after 4 games of the season if you're not going to get anyone better?? I see last season's statistics as an argument to the contrary. We're still 34 points shy of our total last season (3 more if you think that once the play-offs were gone we experimented at Gillingham).We're about 35 goals shy as well,two players who were brought in at the close season are either on the bench or in the stands and we're giving away more soft goals. I really don't think Adkins and his staff are doing any better than Pardew and Downes last season, I really really don't.

And that's about Poyet and his coaches,as long as we have Wilkins involved anywhere in our set up we will be staid and unimaginative.As I personally think that Adkins doesn't have the experience or savvy to override this we will always be predictable.As we have chosen to alternate Jaidi and Seaborne in defence rather than bringing on the more talented Martin we'll always either get caught for pace or give away stupid penalties and soft goals.

Might I just point out that in 2006/7 when NA's side took automatic promotion from League 1 it was Brian Laws that was in charge until November and they were already in the top 2 when he was sacked. True NA guided them to the top from then on but with Law's side. They also had a striker who was extremely performant, and not from the penalty spot either. I think on the other occasion when NA obtained promotion it was via the play-offs??

But if you look at the last 12 games I think Bournemouth are in front of us with 25 points from those 12 games to our our 22. After 18 games Bournemouth were a point below us and now they're 5 in front despite losing their manager and some players. So how do you interpret this? If we play true to form we'll take a bit less than 6 points from our 3 games in hand on them and still be below them by fractions of a point. If they carry their last 12 games form forward and we do the same we'll finish below them. The whole pivotal point is the game between the 2 sides on the 12th March, they can play for a draw, we'll need to win.
