  1. If we don't get promotion...well then I guess we'll be rolling in shedloads of cash due to the sale of Ox,Fonte,Morgan,Rickie and Adam to name but a few. Mark my words if we fail to accede to the level above not one of them will be here come August. Only Morgan is injured and we have a bit part player suspended, we have all the players we need to finish off our campaign.
  2. Perhaps we haven't got any money? I'm sure that we'll have whatever is required in the close season for our campaign in the NPC.
  3. Surely not, why would a "rich club" such as SFC be money grubbing like that.
  4. I know, lets have another "Taxi for Guly" thread, should make sure of 210% improvement.
  5. And even then it would depend on how he gets on with ginger rottweilers biting his ankles for 90 minutes every Saturday and Tuesday from August to May.League 1 is terrible and most players wouldn't want to be in it if they're anywhere near good enough to play higher up.
  6. Charlton have got a new keeper on loan to replace the one they had on loan from Fulham, hope that doesn't make them instantly better then.
  7. But Bournemouth were shyte anyway so it didn't matter.I watched the Full 90( some of those flat camera angles are a bit nauseabond though).
  8. Why?
  9. Chaplow is playing a role that he doesn't get on with. He's an offensive minded player and not a ball winner/water carrier. His 7 yellows in 20 or so games just show that his tackling is woeful or at best badly judged, his close control is suspect as well because he immediately seeks to move the ball forward rather than having an instant look about and choosing the best option. He's a great little player but offensively and we're already over flush on that with Ox and Adam. When he's with Morgan it's compensated because Morgan always knows what's happening around him and can compensate Chappers advanced style but Hammond although doing well in his own role isn't aware enough to cover for Chappers offensive penchants.
  10. CMS is 2 million plus up to 1 million add-ons (or if you believe the Norwich chairman anyway).
  11. Solution to all TV problems for Saturday...go to the game if you're within reasonable distance of SMS. Cost £22 and you'll spend nearly that in the Pub anyway. If I was anywhere near SMS (say 100km or so ) I'd prefer going to games than sitting about in pubs.
  12. If results up to then have gone our way we might write off the Brighton game unless we can catch them.Unless Morgan is fit again I doubt that it's winnable anyway.
  13. Orient will be focused on just on thing, making the play-offs. They're on 56 from 33 and probably need another 24 points from the 13 games they have left. They'll concentrate on the winnable games and manage their squad as best they can because they're going to play a 2 games every 7 days from here on.They may even write off games they see as unwinnable, it's been known in the past.
  14. Players like Morgan don't grow on trees and cost a lot of money;I know nothing whatsoever about Frimpong but his lack of league experience in a vital role at this stage might well be a bit of a handicap. We saw this with Gobern last week, full of enthusiasm and no doubt knows what needs to be done but a big red 0/10 for knowing how to go about it.We have what we need if neither of them gets injured or suspended, most of the opposition we have from here in won't need anything more and we can afford to lose 2 even 3.
  15. We'd hae difficulty fitting him in anyway, he has no defensive qualities at all (well if you believe Reading's fans forums anyway) and we are flush with offensive midfielders. You'd have to put him in instead of Chaplow and then if Deano had one of his lesser days you would be completely exposed.Reading use a a system with 2 hard tacking and mobile CMs with 2 wide OMs in front of them, Howard doesn't fit into this system (seemingly) because his tackling is said to be woeful. They can't feed those wide men (don't we rely on 2 wide men as well?) if the CMs can't tackle and obtain the ball so BH seems surplus to requirements there and would be here as well. Now next season when Ox is gone may be he could fit into our Morgan/Chappers/A N Other/Adam midfield but right now it wouldn't be any advance on where we are now, just anouth 10K a week sat on the bench, be it he or Chappers.
  16. 9 of 12 is all that we need, 88 points and a stonking GD will be enough. We have 9 winnable games +1 that is winnable so if we should fail it will be because we haven't controlled the controlables and even then we still have the "Dogs Chance" of the play-offs.
  17. But Peterborough have always had this firepower, they'd be streets ahead already if they'd had a defence to match it. Johnson got it all wrong defensively,Ferguson came back a re-established Zakuani in the starting pair and no doubt effected some tactical defensive changes as well.If they had to start from scratch I'd doubt that any League 1 side could afford a strike force like Peterborough nor could they obtain it even if they had the necessary wherewithal.Peterborough started the season as promotion favourites with ourselves and Sheffield Weds, managerial ineptitude held them back until it was corrected that's all.
  18. Are you not reporting on a regular basis conversation or text exchanges between the player and your son??If not I must have been imagining things or are you expressing your own opinion on the matter and reporting it as fact established in telephone exchanges? Pray enlighten me.
  19. Vastly underestimate Orient there, they will finish 5th or 6th.We will lose at Brighton and probably at Orient as well. We'll win 9 out 12 and still be second.
  20. Well unless he stops talking about it on websites and to chummies who fall over themselves to talk to the entire world about it,it's not going to happen. He must know how we do things at SFC.
  21. And in such great letters as they write “Here is good horse to hire” let them signify under my sign
  22. Well I hope I'm right because if it shouldn't come to pass for some reason or other the consequences will be far reaching, seismic even.
  23. I remember selling fruit machine tickets for the Saints Supporters Club, think they handed over quite a bit of the proceeds to the club and it's well known that the Supporter's Club (which I suppose is now defunct) kept us alive in hard times more than once.
  24. Anyway people take whatever Cortese says far too literally.
  25. We're in League 1 for another 7/8 weeks, then we'll be in the NPC and I don't think we need reading's cast-offs for that.
