  1. I bet we would be apart from the ridiculous Wilkins era though. I think if you compare results under NA only (excluding the MK Dons loss cos he'd only been here 1 day) we are just a fraction of a point behind Brighton if you extrapolate our results to their number of games played. If they win their last 2 they'll be fractionally ahead come what may but if they don't an extrapolation of the "Adkins era" over 46 games would probably be in our favour. Pointless and hypothetical I know because those 3 Wilkins defeats exist but since then we are as good as them.
  2. No the CB and the striker refers to mounting a challenge, perhaps my expression of that is wayward. What we have now is probably good enough for the bottom half etc. Sorry didn't make it clear enough evidently.
  3. is Loughborough still stuffed full with hunky, future PE teachers? About the only thing is was famous for in my day. All the top sports folk with a couple of brain cells went there, the others went to Borough Road College in London.
  4. I didn't even realise that a second Uni had been installed in Nottingham, why would they do that? Can't they just make the old one...the real one, collegiate? I'm sure that they could cut some costs with a centralised administration like that.
  5. Won't take 20 million to build a challenge for the CCC. 5 perhaps, think that's about what Norwich put out last close season, maybe not even that.Brighton have a sound base,as do we, they probably need a CB and a midfielder, we need a CB and a striker, other than that both sides can probably go top half with what they have next season. The NPC really isn't all that good just now although some sides are obviously superior. At the moment I'd fancy our chances against any of the lower half NPC sides and probably a couple of the others.
  6. Oh right, forgot the Royal Moneyspinner at the end of the week.
  7. Why bother, backing Brentford is just a waste of money anyway. Can't understand this penchabnt for gifting the bookies money so that you'll feel better (in theory) if we lose, you never do anyway.Nothing can alter the feeling that losing on a Saturday produces, not winning money from the bookies, not getting drunk, not a BJ (helps though)... nothing.
  8. they haven't got any......therein lies the answer. I guess their travelling support must number about 200, you can stick them anywhere really. We're not going to miss a bumper crowd by blocking off a lot of space for a handful of Walsall.
  9. We beat Brighton away didn't we? and Orient and Colchester. Bookies obviously taking no chances on us.
  10. Walsall might also be in a desperate position when we play them. We'd best wrap this up at Brentford then.
  11. this will be my 4 th promotion although 1 was only about 5 in 59/60. Remember it well though, I was at Graham Sheen's birthday party (he of the bassoon fame, cos they lived round the corner) All the kids went wild even though we didn't really know what it was about, the parents seemed pleased so we were as well;
  12. My sister was at Nottingham yonks back.....Pharmacy though, she loved Nottingham, I thought Hornsey was the place to study art. I have one leaving for England next year as well, Engineering Doctorate at Cranfield, haven't a clue how good that is but he says it's the bees bolleau because he'll be at Rolls Royce working on jet engines most of the time.
  13. What you need is Bag Balm
  14. bloke had already been booked as well. Don't know if it was 2 yellows or a yellow and then a straight red though.Anyone know that?
  15. One more win for us and Huddersfield will give up and start their play-off preparation, they know we won't crack now.
  16. Who's this new striker we've got, Fonte or something like that. Scores every game
  17. Some of us are particularly attached to Sholing. I even played there.
  18. Spot on, a penalty for us and a red card for them.
  19. Who'd want to take a train from Cardiff to Portsmouth Harbour then?? Both pretty pikey places though, must have something to do with that i suppose.
  20. Depends where you are I guess. There are parts of France that are 5000 miles away.
  21. Come on Saints we need to sink one of these chances. Personally I'd get Chaplow on pretty smartish.
  22. Never mind that, Sholing have equalised.
  23. Saints seem to be committing a lot of fouls today.
