  1. Just been watching Nigel's pre-match piece on the OS, the background video is a lot of slow motion footage from the Hartlepool game (rather well done actually). It's pretty evident that Lambert is a yard short a few times whereas he wasn't last season. The rest of his game makes up for it though. We should however consider someone a bit quicker for next season because there are so many chances going begging because of that missing bit of oomph.Should be kept for his link up play though.
  2. Never 10%, it was 1.57% at it's highest.Looked it up on the list I had.The only person to ever own 10% or more of the shares was Michael Wilde.Crouch was close but not quite.
  3. A footballing man wouldn't have sold Paynter and Greer and would have kept Charlie Austin for the rest of this season as well. I'm sure Nicola could have given him a couple of pointers about how to keep your best players.
  4. Strange that we have so many injured players, we're about 3 weeks into the season after a 7 month lay-off.Pardew doing the pre-season's is he?
  5. Jim Davidson, now there's a comedian devoid of all political correctness. I went, dragged kicking and screaming, to one of his shows at the Winter Garden once, probably because the prospect of nooky with a hot girl who had free tickets for some reason or other bypassed better judgement, anyway, he started picking on some poor asian bloke in the front row, calling him "Snipe" and making funny of his thick lensed spectacles, couldn't make fun of the 6ft 6,250 lb anglo saxon a couple of rows down who also had specs,oh no wouldn't have suited his agenda. Horrible little man.
  6. that's not selling though is it, it's providing duplicates for previous sales. If saints were still sending out tickets yesterday with just 1 delivery before a bank holiday intervened they need a kick up the butt.
  7. So then as Somerset move inexorably towards 400 one must ask the question: What other bowling options do we have? have we someone in reserve or is it time to go on a recruiting drive, because with what we seem to have we'll be relegated before the mid point of the season.
  8. Ha...agent working overtime again then. When he came here he said that as far as he knew it was just a loan and after that it would have to be seen.
  9. Don't Plymouth play in green any more?
  10. Guly fits into my schema playing at the front with the new striker because to be honest I'm not at all sure that Barnard will make the step up to the NPC particularly well.Just a personal opinion mind you but against better quality CBs he was a bit invisible. Could be down to his hernia troubles though. I see out front line being: Guly+New bloke, behind them Rickie (in a free sort of roving role) Lallana,Morgan and Chaplow.
  11. Difficult to say without actually watching a couple of days cricket but Cork seems to be a bit of a bowling liability sometimes.Useful contribution with the bat yesterday though.
  12. I expect to see him in much the same role as this season actually. I believe AOC will leave in the inter-season and that we'll recruit someone in the CMS mould in his place.I can see Rickie carrying on in the deeper role, holding the ball up and laying it off.
  13. Of course it's funny, just like Monty Python, Not the 9 o' clock news and Morcambe and Wise, who spent most of the time taking the p*ss out of Des O'Connor. It's Satire, the basis of most British Comedy.
  14. they also came back from 1 down against Colchester, overmuch is being made of all this.I mean if we're promoted on Saturday are we going to throw it against Plymouth and Walsall, you bet your old boots we ain't. For one thing Nige and Nicola wouldn't tolerate it.Players holidays rarely start the day the season ends you know. Some Huddersfield fans might even think Brighton let us win for a bigger home gate in 1 fixture next season.
  15. One of the principal reason why we need to get out of this poxy league. You wouldn't find that sort of crap on Coventry's OS or Forest's.
  16. Somerset now at 208/3 with Trescothick on about 85 or so. Second highest on the scorecard so far is extras with 41, what the heck are all these no-balls that we're bowling,28 so far.
  17. Brentford have an awful of loan players, more than they can field at any one time I think.Probably a bit of plus factor then ,nothing to play for won't be motivational for loan players.
  18. Obviously not a work of art, just an amusing spoof video. I guess those who might be offended just won't watch it. Won't stop it getting pulled eventually though because someone must own the copyright to the original background.
  19. Is Thursday not the new Friday, or was it Wednesday:Tomorrow being a bank holiday and Muslim Prayer day and all that.
  20. Can't quite see why we'd keep a player on the basis that some other 3rd division club's fans rate him. We'll be moving up to a whole new level and some of our own players might not even be able to make the step up. He's got 3 games left to convince NA that he's worth buying, what Oldham's fans think is immaterial. If managers went by what fans think Kelvin and Rickie would have both been dropped by now and we'd have paid £50 million for Brian Howard.
  21. Now as bets have been taken on this game wouldn't it be sort of illegal if Brighton threw it? Could anyone found to be involved get some sort of judicial punishment. If the bookies are offering 2/1 on Huddersfield winning and they could show in any way that Brighton had thrown the game then they'd appeal to the Football League I guess. Brighton won't throw the match because that would be match fixing but they probably won't worry if they win or not.
  22. watched my DVD of Saints -United cup game yesterday evening, mainly because Real-Barca was unwatchable,Seaborne looked to be the real weak link in our side (well until Dickson came on that is) bad positioning,half-hit back passes.Just can't see what anyone sees in the bloke really. If Jaidi isn't fit then I'd play Martin any day ahead of Seaborne.
  23. A Glastonbury Romance (Cowper-Powys) haven't read it for eons, found it in a carton in the loft the other day.
  24. and decisive goals in that number??
  25. It would be a whole lot more simple if Brighton weren't playing Huddersfield. I'm not at all convinced that Brighton will just let them win but they may not put in overmuch effort.Brighton have also picked up a few injuries of late...a fact to which we contributed. The only bright spot that I can see is the return of Greer.
