  1. Leaving aside the offsides (which I don't think are of particular importance) to me Papa's problem is that he's just not clinical enough in front of goal. If the 2 chances he had against Skate had fallen to Lambert or Barnard we would have walked that game, I know he scored a few but none of them were really good goals, not like some of Antonio's. Papa is obviously having trouble finding a club, perhaps he's asking for too much much money.
  2. Isn't he? he can tell you to f*ck right off if you get up his nose (ask Nick Illingsworth or the Echo), to all intents and purposes Cortese runs the club as he sees fit, no shareholders,no creditors ,no bank pressure;Markus in his pocket and the supporters (in the main)will be happy as long as the results are good.
  3. I really do wonder just how big a win we'll need on Saturday to put a stop to this incessant **** stirring that seems to be all the mode at SFC just now.
  4. I'd even go as far as saying it's top 2 by mid-November or bust. Anything less will be considered as a failure by the vast majority of supporters and no doubt all of the top management.
  5. spanish don't have wags they have esposas y novias so that would be eyns still Nora Batty , that's a real bit of alright especially the wrinkly stockings, a thinking man's crumpet, well north of Watford Gap anyway.
  6. still I think it comes under the terms of preying on the simple mined. I know nothing about the incident but you have to understand that some people are so trusting in anything that seems official (like Nigerian bank frauds) that they wedge up just so as not to miss out or be different from the rest of the herd. For the club to refuse a long time fan (and ST holder) a ST renewal well then I guess they must have their reasons, just as they must have had their reasons for no instalment plan this time round.
  7. Well I think you'll find this is pretty standard continental pratice, if you act the knob then most establishments have no qualms whatsoever in telling you to shove your money up your backside because they can well do without the hassle.I know of a restaurant in Lyon where the meat chef (and presumably the owner) tells client to **** off to Macdonalds if they ask for steak cooked beyond medium rare cos he doesn't waste good meat.
  8. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (in the first round of the cup??)
  9. thenumberofinjuriesweseemtobe pickingupisabitworrying
  10. I guess if we'd really wanted to win for some reason or other then we would have put our Ist XI (minus Lallana) on the pitch for at least the first hour.
  11. a nice round ton would be acceptable
  12. Correct, success in our league depends on what you do against the piles of shît as one,of their more erudite posters so succinctly called them, and as I have realised those games are often a bit of a lottery that goes one way or the other according to the fall of the coin in dodgy refereeing decisions. Unless you can completely shock and awe the crap sides from the start, your results against the better sides count for little.
  13. Agreed, Sochaux are poor, thought we'd be better myself.Anything below 8th or 9th in Ligue 1 doesn't compare to most CCC sides, they're dirt poor and play in front of less than 10000. I doubt that Sochaux's average home gate is much above 12000, it's a Peugeot town and since they've laid off over half their workers in the last 10 years no-one bothers much will football there.
  14. Although I did think we might do a little better against Sochaux, still it's only pre-season.FCSM haven't had a smooth ride either, they lost 5-0 against FC Bale and lost again against non-league Evian as well. They really aren't very good and losing 2-0 today...... wel I'll just put it down as warm up game.
  15. Nope, but then I'm not Princess Anne either and yet I know she won't be topless sunbathing on Weston Shore again ths summer either.
  16. Danns will not sign for Saints.
  17. wouldn't want Gerrard really (well in League 1 maybe) Awful season at Liverpool who were relying on him and he really let them down, seems to be going down the wrong path just now.
  18. Not me, I believe that we have a good side and only really needed a right back,
  19. you don't say !!!!
  20. and why not, there was a Spurs player who, at the pinnacle of his career, jacked it all in to become a vicar, can't remeber his name though, full back I think, may have played for england a couple of times.
  21. Talking of green, I was down at Le Puy en Velay the other day, watched St Etienne beat Clermont 2-0, was talking to a bloke who assured me he was "au courant" at the buvette at half time, assured me that "le dossier Schneiderlin" was now at the top of the president's pile for action, 1 million euros, told him he was having a laugh and that StE couldn't afford Morgan and he wouldn't want to play for a pile of crap like them anyway. Wonder why he didn't buy me a beer after that.
  22. well perhaps not, but at least we seem to be competing this half, mind you our first half side was rubbish,AP probably just needed to give them a game to get it out of the way.
  23. probably just dropping into his bank to put his signing on fee into his account
  24. we'll p*ss this league then
  25. plenty of money about in the EPL but it will all be squandered on potential busts who've had a decent game somewhere or other at the WC. The usual suspects(Sunderland,Birmingham, Wigan etc) will sign a few third world stars for mega £ and then they'll be loaned out next season to Spain and Portugal leaving the good old English fan to foot the bill for those 5 year golden contracts.
