Hammond and Schneiderlin are too similar to be a regular midfield partnership. The both prefer to sit in midfield, play defensive and let the game pass them by without making much of an impact. It needs to be one or the other IMO. Hammond is not my favourite and until he improves, he will keep receiving stick from me. When he signed, I expected so much more that what he produced and IMO doesn't warrant having the captain's armband, give it to Fonte. His passing is poor and doesn't score enough goals or contribute to the attacking phase of the team. As today, I have noticed so many times over the course of last season, there was too much of a gap between the midfield and strikers leaving Lambert & Barnard chasing shadows up top without any support. I'd play Guly & Schneiderlin. Schneiderlin could do a really good job at being that exciting playmaking midfielder with flair if he worked on it but for the time being, he should stick to what he's good at and that's breaking up play and simple passing (except today he tried to be Beckham/Gerrard in midfield with 60 yard passes that went horribly wrong). Once Guly finds his feet, push him, let him attack and be creative and keep Schneiderlin in the sitting role breaking up the play and running the midfield. We could then use Hammond as Wotton is currently used, bring him on for 15-20 mins to shore up games we are struggling to see out.

Adkins say's he'll either analyse the game tonight or tomorrow. There will be a debrief tomorrow at Staplewood. Fair play to him. He's thorough and if he keeps putting the effort in, we have to back him and the players have to perform for him. Simple as. He realises we need to improve on set plays, we didn't create enough chances and we gave away 2 poor goals. Congratulating the fanbase, "1500 is fantastic for a midweek game at MK Dons so we need to support them" Overall, he didnt sound too concerned about the defeat. It sounded like a was expecting a poor result but, he's got one hell of a job on his hands and I will support him until it gets out of hand. Bring on Saturday IMO!

Never has impressed me since he arrived. Doesn't do enough to warrant the captaincy and hopefully we can get Guly to add more of an attacking threat from midfield.

Yes possibly. It's saying that the lot we were "offered" just weren't good enough so he went with Pardew either because he was the best out of the lot or because of the "big" name that had been there done it sort of thing. Either way, very happy with this appointment and as others have said, hope we can begin to climb the table now asap! 3 points against our favourite club on Wednesday would be a good start. He has a strong record to keep up against the dons...

I agree that it's a bad result but it's not disaster. Ok we're 3rd from bottom and 8 points from 1st but we win our game midweek and that gap drops to 5 points. We're not a mile off points-wise but performance wise we're way off the pace. If the performance gets upped, the points go up and we go up! I have faith that Adkins will get these players playing and will get 3 points in his 1st game in charge!
