I can't believe the Sports Editor of the Southampton Evening Echo has never been to a Saints match. That is an effin outrage - no wonder the paper is a shadow of its former self and don't get me started on Editor Ian Murray who is a numpty of the highest order (his column on a Saturday is cringeworthy). When I think of how football reporting was carried out in the old days, Brian Haywood, John May and Graham Hiley, even the slightly idle Bob Brunskell could pen a few words that actually came from the heart. Grrrr!

A bit like what we said when Dyer went to Sheffield United. It is going to be strange come January when all our loanees return to their clubs.
-
Have been told by someone in a position to know, that despite the denials from the club, Skacel is on big appearance money, hence his non appearance thus far and the loan of this kid.
-
Hey thats the spirit - just as well Ponty never wielded the axe. Some of us are bonding and not trading insults.
-
See my reply to Roman - this post was meant to be light hearted mate. For your info i missed Tuesday's because I was looking after my kids - its not big deal unless you chose to make it so, and by your reply I see you have.
-
F*ckin hell mate I was having a joke, light hearted, not serious. We are touchy - I wonder why.
-
Yea but Ponty - small crowds and the reasons why are SO important to our future
-
Fair point but that drive back to the Smoke, mid week by yourself when we lost was not much fun

Some reasons are acceptable - some are not. Acceptable Living a long way away - personally this is a dubious one, I never missed a game when I lived in London but accept it is not easy for some (dont forget that bloke, Malc who lived in Canada who came home for every game. Finance - it is expensive these days Family committments - can't get out of looking after the kids if no one else can illness - self explanatory you're banned - no brainer work the chance of meeting unpleasant postees - scooby - does he go, sundance - is he real? Agrophobia - and its getting worse with all the stay aways might find yourself sitting next to Marc Jackson - on leave from saving the Cherries an allergy to Mike Osman amnesia Unacceptable The presence of Lowe - understandable but not acceptable Prefer to monitor forum and pontificate - criminal Laziness - see above Weather - see above game on TV - see above Fear of hooliganism - does not exist any more lack of atmosphere - not surprising if people stay away being a Billynomates - get to a game you might find a friend Borderline Crap football a la Branfoot and Burley Disillusionment with football in general the beer is crap divorce threats old age or death a hot date with Lucy Pinder No doubt there are other reasons that fall into the above 3 camps - feel free to voice them.

You mean you "followed" TEAM GB.
-
But do you parcipate in theatre forums?
-
Trousers - do you actually ever go to SMS?
-
Like I said the guy is a near legend.
-
Iain Dowie, in tonight's Echo is reported as saying Lallana is the best young player he has seen in the Championship by a mile.
-
What paper or magazine do you think he reads? Farmer's Weekly? Hare and Hounds? Country Life? The Daily Mail?
-
LOL. I also think Alia Dia is a legend but, SlickMick I am neither he or the infamous, near legendary Lifelong Cherry. Sorry to disappoint. Despite the crap he often spouted I do kinda miss his posts however.

No offence taken. I thought with my original post I was at least "spilling a few beans" but the trouble is, in my experience, the messenger usually gets shot on this forum. Or in my case accused of being Marc Jackson:rolleyes: Also at present I think quite a lot are keeping schtum because a few wrong calls could, could I repeat, jeopardise the small (small I said) chance we have of a takeover. I know there are people out there who are desperate to tell what they know but still feel now is not the right time. Rocking the boat usually means people fall out.

Thanks WS

There's a nice write up of Lallana in today's Guardian written by, of all people, Steve Claridge in his "Scouting Report" column. He is full of praise for young Adam having watched him in the recent QPR fixture. My only gripe with the piece is Claridge's miserly valuation of him....£1m. Hope Rupert doersn't take the Guardian:rolleyes:

I'm no one important mate - I just happen to be in touch with some "relevant" people. And, one day, when all the stupid politics are done, I will do my utmost to ensure the common decent fan at the very least is informed why his/her club has undergone such a torrid time.
-
And there lies a story that can't yet be told. Although one day it will be.
-
Thanks WS. If this forum is to flourish then people are going to have to realise that shooting apparent genuine posters down in flames is not going to give us a healthy arena for debate. TBH I could have better spent my time today trying to justify an honest post which I hoped would be informative. I could have been studying the odds for tomorrow - I'd love to know what Mr Fulthorpe is putting his money on.

Bloody hell Trousers - yes, the Ladbrokes desk was about 20 feet from the bar. Doncaster hospitality is a lot smaller than SMS, by the time the game had finished, the word had spread that a small group of Saints fans had sort of taken the local bookies to the cleaners and the four of us were pretty **** a' hoop. Seeing your side win on the road and pocketing the best part of £1300 does wonders for bonhomie. Sad thing is it will never get any better, so perhaps I will retire from going away.
