Lowe is far too involved in footballing decisions at St Marys and I am hearing he is invoking a lot of the unpopular SCW methods so disastrous in our relegation season. I gather the players are increasingly unhappy at some recent training mandates (originating from Lowe) which they feel are over the top. Unfortunately we have a man now running the show at SMS who is not qualified (football wise) but is on a one man mission to prove he knows best. A recipe for absoulute disaster. This is not conjecture it is FACT - believe me I am close enough to the heart of SFC to be able to post this being confident to know it is 100% fact. I can handle RL remaining Chair of the PLC but unless he backs away from the football side we are CCC toast.

For someone who doesn't go to matches and lives away from the area you sure as hell seem to know a lot about the day to day operation of the club. Or do you make it up to suit your pro-Lowe agenda?
-
I think this thread is ample proof (should it be needed) that Lowe divides the fanbase. Whether that is right or wrong is irrelevant. It has happened. The only solution is Lowe to leave. Although I still go and support the Saints I can't bear the thought that should we be successful it will be him who will want to take the credit and it is that which the stay away fans can't stomach. This will not be pleasant reading to the Manjis and the NickGs but they have to admit right or wrong, their messiah, Rupert Lowe is a divisive presence.

How is your good mate Mr Lowe these days NickG?
-
That first sentence is ignorant poppy**** spoken by someone I suspect lives a long way from Southampton and does not mix with the fans on a day to day basis. I personally know about 40-50 principled supporterswho are boycotting because of Lowe. I don't agree with them but I respect their right to do so.

£200 if you take your partner? Do you live in the States?
-
His departure would not do the club any harm and like you insinuate it would "flush out" all those who are staying away because of his presence. While he remains this club will never be 100% united, that is a fact.

only a "fairly" nice guy? Ahem!

If people paid their taxes fair and square (and I am talking higher earners here) this country would have a lot more cash to sort out some of our many problems. People like Wilde who enjoy the benefits etc etc of being a UK citizen without contributing to the financial infrastructure are no more than leeches. He has contributed absolutely nothing to Southampton FC except mire it in ineptitude thus enabling the ultimately deeply flawed and self-professed messianic Lowe back into power. And still he thinks it helpful to pontificate in the pages of the sycophantic Echo. I think I'd prefer to read the thoughts of Lowe at least they were good for a laugh (if you like gallows humour that is).
-
And don't forget the irony of being lectured on financial prudence and the credit crunch by a man who is a tax exile. He has a nerve I'll say that.

Skacel never will play "Official"

Wise words Stanley, I had forgotten Wilde's betrayal of the SoS crowd.

Perhaps it was Doncaster v Saints - those odds were good and Fulthorpe was pretty confident:rolleyes:

NickH - you would be wise to read this as it is correct. Um Pahars is also spot on. Sometimes I think you do not read other's [posts carefully. No offence because I think you mean well but if you are going to respond on complicated issues raised it would be best to try and fully understand what is being said. I think this is the reason Um Pahars resorts to smilies which you seem to spend more time considering.

I think Burley's faults are becoming more and more exposed.
-
Sorry mate - this is utter uninformed garbage
-
No but I would prefer someone who at least gave it a go. He is no "first over the top" mug, naive in running a football club perhaps but the easiest thing for him to have done after he was ousted was to walk away but it appears that is far from what he has done. Southampton FC need all the friends in the world right now especially ones with a bit of financial clout.
-
I know that LC has used his own money to help the club find investment. I also know he is prepared to donate more (if others do) to help fend off administration. And at the present he is physically supporting the club by going to all the away matches.
-
I have met all 3 and while I think none of them are ideally right to "run" our club there is only one man I would trust in the trenches. Leon Crouch may not be many things but he is, imo, the most trustworthy and genuine.

What a classy post - congratulations:rolleyes:

The easiest thing in the world is to blame HR. Lowe is very fond of doing it. Yes he made mistakes but much bigger mistakes were made above his head. Most who slag Harry now were probably singing Harry and Jim chants with fervour after we beat Pompey. But, hey lets look for a fall guy who is convenient to kick. It makes us feel better if we can blame someone no longer connected. No doubt Redknapp is a flawed man and no doubt he has a "questionable" history when it comes to money (as have most in football) but actually if you ever meet him you will find him a man with a friendly personality who loves football and is totally without arrogance. But that doesn't count, it seems. When I read Saints fans talking about HR on this forum, I am reminded of a book I studied for O level - "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding. "Let's all hate the easiest of people to hate" philosophy sort sums it all up.
-
I have heard he is prepared to do just that in an effort to stave of administration (should it be needed) but he would understandably expect the other two major shareholder camps to do similar.
-
he might well be but he is still a half decent manager given reasonable support.
