Lots of mocking out there, not much thought though for the young innocent employee who lost his job because of Wilde's reckless behaviour. Meanwhile Wilde is back with all the perks his Chairman title ensures and yet the fans on the forum continue to "shoot" the messenger. No problem with that (whistle blowers inc:rolleyes:) but when you go to bed tonight remember who is in charge of the football club we all love. Let's hope Wilde sleeps well.

Nick, maybe in hindsight, it should have been done privately in the first place but my initial rebuke on the thread was comparatively mild and relatively innoffensive. (Slightly idle and coasting). Son of Bob's reply upped the anti and so I have sent him a pm explaining my reasons. I have to say however if you were party to the pm or actually knew the whole story you might have felt less inclined to cast so quick a judgement. Son of Bob has said he wishes to leave it there and I am (now) happy to let it go, if that is what he wishes.
-
Nick I would keep out of this if I were you - no offence. I was involved once in a "project" with BB. He is a very nice man, however I found him slightly idle within the work we were scheduled to do together. Therefore I cannot withdraw my remark nor will I apologise for it. I will contact son of Bob by private message.

If anyone thinks he is perhaps they had better ask him to cast his mind back to the early hours (5am) of the 11th November 2006 which was the day we played Sunderland away. Then they should they ask him who he was drinking with at that time and why, 2 days later, a junior club employee consequently lost his job.

Calm down. If you read what i said it was actually complementary about his writing skills. However imo "research" was and is an area when all Echo journalists at some stage have been found to be coasting. I stand by my remarks.

I accept he is the best we can afford (would have preferred Richard Wright) but I think the praise some are now giving him to be a little over the top. Like I said he is one of the best at pulling off wondrous saves but he has an achilles heel which is well known to all CCC sides who then exploit it. Coming for, and dealing with crosses is the hard bit of goalkeeping and KD had not come near mastering the art. He is like having a well-tuned fast car with no steering wheel.
-
Firstly I was not there last night but on Saturday he didn't even command his 6 yard box so can't believe 3 days later he is commanding an area 3 times as big. The glamour part of keeping is fingertips saves and he is as good as any but the nitty gritty is dealing with a cross when you have a Dean Windass type centre-forward to compete with as well. KD simply doesn't even bother trying and that is unacceptable. A true gent he maybe and i'm glad he is switched on PR wise but unfortunately that doesn't get him off the hook as to his qualities as a 'keeper. Sorry.

Disagree strongly - he is a good shot stopper but crap gatherer of crosses. Only half a goalkeeper in my book.

When all said and done and after hearing this news I think Skacel to be one of our biggest ever disappointments. Certainly due diligence was not done when it came to investigate his character before signing him. All part of the big £7m gamble I suppose. I have no problems with Lowe/JP's decision to leave him out either for financial or discipline reasons but it would have been better if the fans had been kept a little more in the loop or at least as much as possible.
-
Fair enough Window Cleaner. I have just been told that Skacel IS on a match by match appearance fee. I have been informed how much but the person who told me wants to double check on the figures before going public. To be fair to Lowe/JP I have also been told that Skacel is being awkward and has an attitude along the lines "you didn't want me at the beginning of the season so why should I help you now" type of thing. All in all a bit of a mess.
-
You would get a lot further if you stopped being quite so stroppy Window Cleaner. And I don't need to be reminded or lectured about "defamation" by someone who can not even spell the bloody word.
-
Not sure forum rules dictate "how or when to reply". Like I said before I would not post unless I was at least fairly certain it was fact. If some don't like what is contained in my posts because it doesn't suit their take on things - fine, I suggest you put me on ignore. The truth will not go away however.
-
Window Cleaner - JF did not tell me hardly anything about the internal happenings at the club, the 5 minutes I spent in his company I was more intent on finding out his latest plans re takeovers etc. Plus I emphasised how fed up the fans were with all this speculation and promises. Have just sent a message to try and find out more exact details of Skacel's situation. All I was told by someone who would know was his absence was due to financial considerations - now whether that is because he is on appearance money or there is a trigger coming up I don't know. Maybe I will find out later today.
-
If Skacel plays I will be very surprised because every appearance he makes for us is financially costly and we will have to be in a helluva hole for Lowe to sanction him turning out.
-
Window Cleaner still won't listen - perhaps he needs to clean his windows more often.
-
And while on the subject of Rupert Lowe and soul legends can I just say Levi Stubbs RIP.

Is there a live link from the forum to the website - I couldn't find it.

Teddy Nutkins was always a good read and Mick8's (Mick junior) story of his trip to Budapest was a classic.

Mind you I hear LC is still prepared to put substantial money in to stave of admin - not sure the other two have made that offer, yet

I hear Rupert has fallen out with Barclays, big time after our overdraft increased from 6 to 8 million.

much as Jan's excuses are starting to grate I still prefer him to Burley's whine
