my allegiance is to the club and I will get behind the man (or woman) who I think is best placed to save it. Once that person appeared to be Michael Wilde which turned out to be a mistake, but right now it is Crouch I believe, although it may take a bit of help from others for him to be able to succeed. Unfortunately the man at the helm at present is the person who can do this club most harm, especially in such treacherous waters.

Thanks for that - unfortunately sometimes you have to ask people to read between the lines because you can't really say what you really want to. That oftens gets peoples backs up. I certainly wouldn't want to be considered in the same vein as LLS or St David who were in my mind toying with the forum. It is all bloody frustrating I accept.

Up until now I have been against a boycott. Up to now I thought it right to get behind the young players who have at least tried to play decent football. Up until now I have tried to ignore the fact that deep down I suspected Lowe was pulling the footballing strings. Gray first let the cat out of the bag, along with the Delgado signing and Bassett's words spoken, I think without malice is the last straw. For me enough is enough and despite having a ST I am minded not go again while Lowe is, for all intents and purposes our manager. I cannot support the players and team he picks. I don't care if he makes good decisions the fundamental principle of a PLC Chairman directly meddling in team selection policies is wrong wrong wrong. When he is either put back in his boardroom or he leaves then I will relent but not until.

Trust me Bassett is not a bitter man - if he was he would not have waited until someone asked him a question on a radio show 2 years after the event. The same old "shoot the messenger reaction" should not be allowed to cover up the real reasons we were relegated ie Lowe's meddling.

This will not go down well but Bassett's revelations do vindicate Redknapp just a little. I have long maintained it was the way Lowe treated HR that started the rot. I met Bassett a few times way back and I would say he tells like it is and is not an axe grinder

Accept it would have made sense but I suspect some sort of underhand motives. Agent or third paties at work maybe but there is no way Lowe would have parted with £1.2 without having it red ringed - no way! The whole thing stinks if you ask me.

Not sure that is the answer - as other leeches would just come in and bleed us dry and make off with Staplewood and Jacksons Farm. What we need is Lowe and Wilde to step down and then a team come in to manage the club hel[ped by a little financial backing which will be forthcoming once Lowe and Wilde's depart. Will it happen? There's the million dollar question right now. If things stay as they are though it will be deffo administration.

A good honest post from the heart. I just wish some fans would get their heads out of the sand. Keep the faith, mate I know Leon Crouch is "on the case" but it is not easy dealing with Lowe's ego.

I am sure Morph can answer this for himself, Roman but in the meantime I do gather LC's plans did unavoidably change at a late stage. Did not see the Lord Marland bit, must check Morph's sources on that one.

Of course you are entitled to have an opinion but you were saying or preaching even that the fans should give the players more support and yet you don't bother going yourself. So if we took a leaf out of your book there would be no one giving them any support whatsoever. How bizarre You really aren't for real.

Hmmm - you say the team need support but you also confess that you hardly ever go! A good case of don't do what I do just do what I say.

Nick thanks for that slight vote of confidence. However you may have misunderstood what I have said. I am not aware of any new investors as such - but I believe a few out there (inc Crouch) would put enough into the club to stave of looming administration. I think unfortunately while that is a slight glimmer of hope w ehave a long way to go before we are taken over. Also, Dubai Phil - the Runnymede minutes show just how impossible it is for all 3 to work together - nice sentiments but it aint going to happen I am afraid.

I am sure Morph will not mind me setting one point straight here. At no time did Morph say anything which was based on Fulthorpe's investment plans. As far as I am aware Morph has no connection with Fulthorpe's alleged consortium. He/she mixes in completely different but no less influential circles.

Roman I was only reacting to someone who accused Crouch of financial mismanagement and whilst the gang of three are still actively involved in the politics of our club I believe it wise to keep an eye on the history. Also I don't neccesarily think there WILL be a new Board although undoubtedly there are some working hard to achieve this before administration beckons. A lot will depend on Lowe seing sense and that is what concerns me gravely.

I think Crouch did show concern over a year ago - that is why he was negated on the PLC board following a coup by the execs. We were heading into administration long before LC grabbed the reigns in December 2007. Don't forget he had already tried to stop the haemorrhaging by blocking the Euell deal a few months before but was let down by Wiseman siding with the execs and Burley getting his way. During his short time in power (6 months) he agreed a deal with Barclays, got rid (albeit by luck) of a manager who was expensive, undisciplined and who had given up the ghost and, in the process, got a good compensation deal out of the Scottish FA which would cover NP's salary for 18 months. The only financial outgoings during this period were for Pearson's loan deals which probably kept us up. So a bit unfair then to have a go at Crouch for the financial mess or even accuse him of being equally guilty. Of course in the middle of this there was also the final satisfactory conclusion of the statue debacle in which he frankly rescued this club and us fans from national ridicule. Imagine, if he had not put his hand in his own pocket all we would have in front of St Marys now would be an empty plynth. If Wilde and Lowe are not the sole reasons for our plight they sure are the sole reasons why that plight is worsening. I honestly believe if they had stayed out of the club and let Crouch continue with Pearson at the helm we would be more secure with the bank financially and further up the table. Just my opinion of course and no way will we know. I am not particularly pro Crouch - he made mistakes - bad PR and Gorman/Dodd to mention two reasons that I was angry with at the time but, like I said above financial mishandling -no way. Wilde is hanging on for financial reasons, Lowe is there for financial and egotistical reasons, Crouch is involved because he cares about the club. It is a no brainer really and is why I will continue (until a better or more viable proposition emerges) to support the removal of Wilde and Lowe and back Crouch's and Co's efforts to make that happen.

You could be right, Roman, about civil war but I don't think Crouch is interested in the "club falling into his hands". In fact I hear he is no longer interested in any significant position at SMS other than in his corporate box, but I do think he is very concerned at the direction the club is heading and doing all he can to help prevent what is, under the current stewardship, inevitable administration. Wilde wants out with as much cash as possible. Lowe will not admit he got it wrong by coming back and will try and stay to the bitter end (as he did last time). Personal agendas ahead of the club's wellbeing is not good news for the fans.
