  1. I think you can add Rupert into the holy triumvirate to be honest. I think the only "relationship" there is now (or will ever be) is between Wilde and Lowe but, even that is conducted through clenched buttocks and gritted teeth.
  2. Because when Crouch took over the Chairman's position a year ago he - quite rightly imo after what happened the last time - declined to offer Wilde a seat back on the board. Wilde spat his dummy and went running to Lowe.
  3. The crazy thing is I suspect Crouch wants to buy more shares but Wilde won't sell to him.
  4. Sorry I forgot - according to some on here "there is no alternative".
  5. Perhaps now is the time for Andrew Cowen (Mr Teflon man) to step out of the shadows and put a hand on his friend's shoulders and say "time to go Rupert".
  6. Your last 5 words undermine everything you said before
  7. me too, but we are deeply in the mire nonetheless
  8. Idiot of the year award here I come. Thanks Ponty. I should have omitted the anti word of course. Interesting that the Sol Campbell incident was homophobic which I suppose could mean the whole Northam end who were singing at the Brighton fans "does your boyfriend know you are here?" and then what about the "shouldn't you be washing up" at the female linesman. Where will it end.
  9. Ron, that last sentence I would contest. Nothing fortunate about it I reckon - more down to Le Tiss's immaculate skills.
  10. Thanks St John - I can't quite work out why Lowe senior would want to buy this sort of business when it is far from his base. Was there ever a "tie in" between Webbs and the club when the stadium was built?
  11. Life was different then alright. I abhor anti-racist chanting etc but I do think this PC pendulem has swung too far. Before long chanting of any sort will be banned.
  12. This has been lifted from the business pages of tonight's Echo CREDIT PLEA BY FIRM OWNED BY FAMILY OF SAINTS CHAIRMAN An historic Hampshire company owned by the family of Saints chairman Rupert Lowe, is today appealing to its creditors not to put it out of business. 60-year-old building services engineering name RF Webb and Sons (RFW) has had to lay off 19 of its 53 workers following the termination of a £4m contract connected to the building of Portsmouth's Queen Alexandra Hospital. A well-known regional family company, RFW was the subject of a management buyout in 2002 before being bought by Lowe Holdings for an undisclosed sum in 2005. Both Rupert Lowe and his father Patrick are registered as directors of Lowe Holdings, which is also headquartered at his father's Gloucestershire farm.
  13. I have had it confirmed to me by someone who would certainly know that Pearson was on £150,000 pa.
  14. Actually I have just realised that is not remotely funny and in case some on here believe it I had better confess to making it up. Apologies to all on this forum - sometimes irony and gallows humour have no place on a football forum.
  15. It was interesting listening to Tyler and Goodman last night because they were full of praise for Saints at the start of the game and talked how exciting we have been this season and then it dawned on them half way through the second half (as it did me) its all very well playing this "exciting" football if it doesn't actually get you goals and win you matches. The table does not lie - exciting football has us in 20th position.
  16. I was also convinced BWP had popped off in the 2nd half for a swift pint. It was only when Tyler mentioned he had been marked out of the game by a 17 year old I remembered he was still on the pitch.
  17. Hot news - Simon Clifford seen at Staplewood this morning.
  18. I guess this somewhat dilutes the "Pearson wasn't kept on for financial reasons" argument? And have the club told us officially about Webster yet and why was he put on gardening leave?
  19. Would agree with all of this - time for a change of direction but with no funds available I am lost for a solution.
  20. If Pearson had been kept on and he had blended the kids with a few wise heads then I think we could have confidently expected not to get relegated. However I think we saw last night a good young side trying to play decent football that will get relegated unless it toughens up. I also think if Lowe had stayed away the crowds would have been more inclined to turn up, thus alleviating the financial situation. So to answer your question NickG - depends if it was pre Pearson's departure or post.
  21. Brave words Ron - I will have a fiver that at least one won't????
  22. I do like Lallana (his performance v Wolves when we were down to 10 men was awesome) but tonight talk about flattering to decieve. Mind you he was 5 times better than BWP.
  23. I like both players but if we had to lose one which one would you chose? After tonight I think I would rather Lallana go. Great skill, quick feet but no end product whereas Surman might not have pace he does have nous and the ability to read the game. Tough call but Surman is as MLT said on Sky A FOOTBALLER
  24. I would quit while you are ahead mate. I used to respect your views but tonight you are looking like King Canute!
  25. There was a lot of talk on the train to Charlton about a Shirley based electrical company who are in deep financial trouble and Lowe is apparantly a director.
