Have recieved a message from a well-placed source tonight who is not a member of this forum. She asked me to post the info onto here which I will do. It is probably true imo but I have not been able to double check it so I am not going to defend it. Take it as you wish, but like I say the source is very reliable. Talk is Wilde wants out and is ready to sell - he has no "lock in" agreement with Lowe. His house in Jersey is now a hotel and his home in Burley is up for sale.
-
I hear Wilde is twitching like hell. The publishing of Merlion's accounts are long overdue.
-
BBC South TV said "Lowe addressed the players before the game". If he wanted to "talk" to the players he could have done it at a relatively quieter Staplewood, pre-match is pre-match and I wouldn't mind betting it was the equivalent of the sort of thing a manager would say prior to sending a team out to play. I have no proof I accept but I know Lowe and his ego and not many Chairmen get their own training kit made up with their initials on it. The man has an ego as big as Big Macs and that is saying something. No wonder the two don't get on. Mind you I would still prefer Big Mac because as sure as eggs is eggs he knows his football.... ego or not.
-
To be fair you need to define the word manager. Perhaps asst manager might be more appropriate.
-
Tbh if Saints had won 10-0 last night I still don't like the principle of the Chair of the PLC involving himself in football related matters, especially in the dressing room just before a match. If true of course but knowing Lowe I believe he is more than capable.
-
Quite agree - it is a shame he can't keep his ego in check, I still feel he could do a job for us somewhere but SMS aint big enough.

Didn't the UKIP party metamorphis out of the Referendum Party when Goldsmith gave up the ghost. Their policies (not that I have studied them in detail) seem very similar.

as also quoted by Andrew Cowan in the Runnymede minutes. Perhaps both are reading from Rupert's hymn book.
-
Nick while I accept it may serve my purpose, trust me I would not make something up to justify it. You have my word.
-
You should never make presumptions Nickh. My "job" meant I spent the whole hour before kick off in the direct vicinity of both dressing rooms and sometimes even in them so I know exactly who was in and who wasn't. And on the one occasion when Bates and Ellis did visit it was at a long time before the kick off. Funnily enough although both men chilled me they were both very friendly.

Try the "Dog and Duck" public house

Snowballs, I can reliably inform you that LC is very active in trying to solve the looming crisis but, like someone said, doing that without rocking the boat is a tricky juggling act. I do think he feels, however, that it would be neccesary for Lowe and Wilde (assuming they have no intention of putting their own hands in their pockets) to "bow out" before other's purse strings are loosened.
-
In the early days of the Premiership I worked in the football media and visited most grounds working behind the scenes. The only two Chairman I saw go to the players dressing room prior to kick off were Ken Bates who popped into see Glen Hoddle's Chelsea dressing room and Doug Ellis at Villa. I think Case is confusing it with some who come down afterwards but very rarely are Chairman welcome before hand. Lowe is in good company with Ellis and Bates, two of the biggest meglomaniacs I ever met.

A straw clutcher at work

But it is the obsessiveness of Lowe that is our undoing.

Not technically according to NickG

Was the return of Rupert the final nail in our coffin?
Long Shot replied to Gordon Mockles's topic in The Saints
Football is a sport where only black or white opinions count - so having said that I think Lowe is an absolute fruitcake. 5 minutes in his company would have you reaching for the phone to call the men in white coats, I assure you. I wouldn't leave him in charge of a shopping trolly let alone a football club. -
How long until the first Lowe Out chant starts tomorrow?

The picture is quite clearly captioned as follows "LOOKING CONCERNED: JP before Saturday's game at Swansea, with Rupert Lowe next to him". I sometimes wonder about NickH - I think he should put more water in his glass.

I have already started but I am getting funny looks from the dog. -
Walked past his Merlion Homes office in Winchester this morning. The milk was still on the doorstep and it was nearly midday. As he hasn't listed company accounts since 2006 perhaps he has done a runner.
-
Can't argue with this at all except perhaps the last line which seems you advocate leaving things as they are. I know we have been caught out before with an anyone but Lowe mantra but I would take the risk again.

When sensible and mild mannered (well compared to me) posters like Ron see the writing is on the wall then we are in serious trouble. The experiment was never likely to work but I think most of us gave it support but the time has now come for a dose of reality.
