I've had a worm's eye view of the BBC due to recent work commitments. While the staff may be mildly centre left, it doesn't follow that the organisation as a whole is. My overriding impression is that the BBC is on the defensive. Rightly or wrongly it has concluded that its not in its interests to pick unnecessary fights with government. And frankly right now its far harder to get in trouble if you're accused of being right-leaning or pro-brexit than the other way round.

Agree - nearly all signs point to Parliament rejecting her deal in which case she'll be toast. The only reason she's stayed in the job is because she's been unable or unwilling to show her hand and spell out what Brexit means. They’re not bent pal. They may be subject to subtle unconscious biases (as we all are) but they’re not on the take. And yes everyone makes mistakes. VAR can’t come soon enough except for the six-fingered Luddites.
