Gloomy budget - another nail in the coffin for May's government.

So Maidstone is a warzone, Mauricio Pellegrino is the next Alex Ferguson - what next from SOG's magic hat of fûckwit reductio ad absurdum?

Started Harrison Reed IIRC.

On the surface, it appears to be (1): Reed in explaining MP's appointment stressed his commitment to fast, attacking, high-intensity football which would suggest that Reed was also labouring under an illusion which, in turn, raises questions. Of course Reed might just be bullsh*tting. What is strange is that there is absolutely nothing in MP's trackrecord to suggest he wants to play football in this way. Admittedly managing a minnow in Spain requires a bit of pragmatism -you're going to get destroyed if you are too gung-ho; that said when you hold up Benitez and Van Gaal as inspirations about how the game should be played, as MP does, one can't help but conclude that MP is philosophically inclined in this way too.

Is that just gobbledygook for the Southampton Way?

Whoever is Shane Long’s agent played an absolute blinder to negotiate a new contract after the most freakish of freakish seasons. Talking about buying high.

Professor of horseshît wheels out FFP rules. Surprise, surprise. We have one of, if not the most expensively assembled squad outside the top six and still have salary space. It’s quite normal that people are asking questions about our recent recruitment and whether we should be looking up, not down - never mind why we’ve extended the contracts of players like Forster.

Gao 'open to offers for Gabbiadini, Long and Austin'

Sounds like complete rubbish to me as well - even the porn barons wouldn't mouth off like that, never mind discrete, non-English speaking owners. Anyway hasn't it already been reported we've been looking to shift the likes of Long and Austin? -
Les Reed - where’s the transparency and accountability?

As many as Uncle Les? ...Nope. -

Agree, though the sad fact is that there was a certain logic to playing him yesterday, away from home against slow CBs that like to push up. -

Didn’t stop them saying it. Maybe they meant it figuratively in the same way certain posters talk about Maidstone. You tell me pal. -

Maybe Jeremy Wilson will put out an article likening Uncle Les to Willy Wonka again. -
Why does playing Austin mean Gabbi will get more service, especially if it means taking off one of our more creative players?

There’s a difference between tailing off and settling into midtable obscurity on the one hand and having one of the worst attacks in the league and looking over the shoulder at the possibility of relegation on the other.

Do you still chat to Les in the car park? How are you getting on with your badges pal?
