  1. Seriously?
  2. Other than being one of Spurs players of the season last year. Like most players I guess
  3. This is a mess. Mané started off brightly with goals and assists against Arsenal, QPR and Stoke and should have added to them against Hull, Spurs etc. He had a poor November and early December as the rest of the side struggled, though often looked our most dangerous player. He then went on a tear during the Xmas period which was the foundation for a very good second half of the season. We didn't have an exodus of players the following summer -only Clyne went to Liverpool. In his second season, Mané had an inconsistent start (as did the rest of the team as we had a Europa hangover); but was often the best player on the pitch (e.g. Chelsea away). He was absolutely integral to our unbeaten run in the last two months which saw us qualify for the Europa group stages. Even when he wasn't scoring, he was contributing- doubtful Shane Long's record goal haul would have happened without Mané's pace and movement.
  4. You must have missed the forum bylaws: you're not allowed to like both Cortese and Reed. That's a very serious transgression for some on here.
  5. And? As I said before, he played half a season in 2016/17 -and just because the team concedes goals from setpieces doesn't mean he's individually culpable. Frankly the numbers are so small that I wouldn't read too much into them. Try watching him play.
  6. And christ that video reminds me how much I hate Herrera.
  7. Don't let SOG fool you - he's your classic NIMBY. He talks a good game in the abstract, especially if it's to bash others; but when it comes to the crunch, he's as little England as they come.
  8. Ok for other positions but I assume Lemina was brought in because the club knew it was moving Clasie on. What is the squad limit at now?
  9. Why? Lemina was brought in. A loan isn't ideal: it's not as if the club is loaning him out to get experience or he's going to a league whose quality will make him better should he get another chance. The club seems to have made up its mind on him. As such, I'd prefer to get a fee rather than see him stuck in loan limbo till he walks on a free.
  10. He'll be stuck with us again if nobody comes in for him.
  11. That may be true of Sadoldgit and a few others but not sure how much it applies across-the-board on here.
  12. "Cannot wait to meet Les Reed"
  13. Who and what's the green number? The odds are too low to be AR-10.
  14. Says the poster who's convinced that a cookie-cutter B&Q kitchen was designed by his late brother-in-law. Talking about mistaken identities, this wasn't you, was it? http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/toblerone-bandit-fails-clear-name-12614508
  15. Eh? Can't remember us conceding many from setpieces when VVD was in the line-up -whether under Puel and VVD. He's an absolute monster in the air. Suggest you actually watch him play and give the political porn on order-order a rest, pal. Even if it was true, hypothetically, why should a team's performances say anything about the qualities of the individual? Perhaps the individual is winning his aerial battles but others in the side aren't. How would the team's record in defending setpieces be relevant unless the interested club wanted to buy the whole team? By your logic, Noles, MLG was a bland and uncreative footballer because he happened to play for a toothless Saints side.
  16. This makes no sense at all.
  17. Agree: the North Koreans probably think as long as they stay away from Guam, they can keep taking liberties and pushing their luck. The problem is that the scope for miscalculation and misperception increases with every act of hostility, however calculated, that, at some point, things may slide out of control.
  18. Come on, you live for this.
  19. Doesnt the team usually fly into Bournemouth?
  20. Where's Strongarm with a world exclusive when you need him?
  21. This ignores the fact that our fullbacks provide much of that width. By coming inside and pulling opposing fullbacks out of position, Tadic and Redmond actually free up Cedric and Bertrand to get behind defences (as they do) while themselves getting into shooting positions. My issue is that besides the fullbacks (who are first and foremost defenders), there is no other movement around Tadic and Redmond nor is there anyone from midfield who can consistently play them in.
  22. Because he's been playing well. My point exactly
