  1. To repeat, all I said was that whoever was elected would not be naturally disposed to free trade, so there may be complications, a pretty low evidential threshold. You've cited a mom-and-apple quote before anything has actually happened. Zilch. Shall we wait and see -and then assess it against my precise statement. Suggest your desperation to pin something on me is getting the better of you. I'm flattered by the attention but once again you're not doing yourself any favours, little kipper.
  2. So Brexiter economists were also wrong in their short-term forecasts per Minford, Lyons etc. Good to clear that up pal.
  3. Bless you, you did that all by yourself. Can you do a Wilbur Ross one for me pal, you know Trump's trade chief designate. Of course, the only reason you're citing a post that still holds up today, doesn't support any of your claims and makes you look a bit silly and frankly quite desperate is because I'm largely sceptical of short-term calls. Keep trying, little kipper
  4. Yep and that's why any serious analysis won't just look at the average (mean); but also measures such as standard deviation (how much spread there is around the mean), a further reason why amateur pieces like this article should be taken with a pinch of salt.
  5. Not the point pal. It's whether these inputs are adequate proxies or measures for the things we care about. For instance, why should anyone care about no. of passes in the opponent's half -if all those passes are in front of the defence and mean we slow down play? In this case, the number maybe correct but also be consistent with a diametrically opposed conclusion.
  6. Still doing your damnest to prove you're out of your depth. Sure you haven't been dosing on all those legal highs aka fertiliser products nobody wants to buy over here? Keep an eye on things pal. My point stands -alas you misunderstand it. Despite being a 'businessman', Trump is no instinctive free-trader. Far, far from it. That was true when I wrote it and it's truer today. If some thought Trump's sabre-rattling was just campaign theatre, it's clear he intends to deliver on the rhetoric. Pursuing perceived free-riders, both at home and abroad and rewriting 'unfair' trading arrangements- are big priorities. Does it mean he'll have time to conduct free trade arrangements and they won't be negatively impacted by the fallout of the rest of his trade agenda? Who knows. That's why I said the situation was complicated. It's also complicated because Trump is adopting a staunchly America-first position. As Wilbur Ross, Trump's pick for Commerce Secretary noted: Brexit presents a god-given opportunity to steal trade from a weakened and vulnerable UK. Alas you, as befits Brexit cheerleaders, appear to inhabit a nostalgic and naive lalaland where goodwill -rather than shrewd political and economic self-interest will dominate because the UK is well the UK. Be careful what you wish for little kipper.
  7. 25k? 50-60k is reasonable. Would put him in Shane Long territory.
  8. Is that what you told the police?
  9. Is DPS correct that you were investigated by the police? What was it for? Unsavoury posts? I hope it was just a misunderstanding pal. Why the recent surge of activity? You basically kept a low profile for 18 or so months and have only exploded in the last 3/4 months.
  10. Had disappeared from public, other than that degrading Aldi cider ad he did in which he looked worse for wear. RIP.
  11. Some proper #bantz there baldrick.
  12. Yep that is miles from the truth and paranoid.
  13. No. It's Google translate doing a funny. The company in both cases is Lander (莱茵达 or laiyinda, if you want the pinyin, the official romanisation). Per Reuters, the Lander Sports Development company is buying out (it's not clear if it's in full or in part) Gao Jisheng, the main shareholder of the company. On one level, it's a completely internal affair and has no relation to us...
  14. Have you asked your friend who the source is (ballpark without being specific)?
  15. Excellent result, though tinged with disappointment. Should have been more. Scousers will be mightily relieved.
  16. Redmond has to do better there.
  17. Garbage in, Garbage out.
  18. If people are using the table as a proxy for squad quality, its pretty meaningless as it doesn't adjust for inflation. Values are calculated on the basis of when the players were bought. Squads with high levels of turnover (like us) are likely to look more expensive as players/transfers reflect current market prices. By contrast, more stable teams will look cheaper: the fee paid Ronaldo contributes significantly to Real Madrid's squad value but remember he was bought in 2009 for £80m. How much would he cost -and Madrid's squad be valued at if that transfer happened today?
  19. Berahino is a much more instinctive finisher for starters.
  20. A silly thread which misspecifies the problem. It's not that we rotate just after European games; its that we've been rotating from game to game. For instance, how many sides chopped and changed over the Xmas period as much as us?
  21. Les credibility has never quite recovered from the Lambert sale.
  22. Wrong. Our wage bill wasn't £80m; it was £72m. And this is the wage bill for the entire club from Les right down to the lowliest tea lady; not the first team squad/playing staff.
