  1. #meltdown
  2. Give yourself a werther's. More or less the perfect response.
  3. Talking about Morgans, Morgan Sanson CDAJFU.
  4. I'd take an Essien over a Lampard. More dynamic, more box-to-box.
  5. Green Bay Packers are on the verge of the playoffs.
  6. I'd like to congratulate Les for doing the treble -coming top of the net transfer spend table three years in a row. #5yearplan
  7. Will always be a bang average player, even in the right system.
  8. Boufal head and shoulders best player on the pitch.
  9. The exception doesn't prove the rule pal.
  10. Not sure I buy it. Can't think of a situation where it would be optimal -or 'agreed' with the coaching staff for a keeper not to come off his line for crosses but always to defer to the CBs. Each case will be judged on the merits. It's even starker with 1-on-1s (where there are no CBs). All received wisdom says that the keeper should come off his line, make himself big, close the angle etc. Physics innit.
  11. Would have liked to see him to do better with the 2nd and 4th goals; that's not to say they're on him or other keepers would have necessarily saved them.
  12. As a point of consistency why are (temporary) bans handed out for innocuous insults while words such as spazz not acted upon -indeed they are partially encouraged? You've been more than trigger-happy to dole out infractions for use of the m-word and related terms in the past. No rhyme or reason with the curry crew.
  13. Baldrick - you do realise that pay rises in the civil service have been capped at 1% a year.
  14. Dinlows are still working through their cortese issues to realise it. Bless them.
  15. Les, the gift that keeps on giving.
  16. For someone who shouted from the rooftops they had me on ignore, you still seem curiously and unhealthily obsessed with me.
  17. You were wrong the first time as a simple matter of fact. And were shown up. No shame in that. You then claimed that the subject was really about whether MP underachieved. I pointed out some of the other factual constraints under which he and his squad operated to which you failed to respond. If I'm wrong, please tell me specifically where I'm wrong. But from your gratuitous, circular post, I imagine I'll be waiting a long time. Christ I hope you're not as a much of dopey soft-touch offline as you are on here pal. #suppressedpremises
  18. Not misunderstood anything. You just erred factually pal and had to concoct some bizarre guff about suppressed premises If you want to talk about substance, it's worth pointing out that we had no attacking players beyond Jrod, Lambert and Lallana that season. We had zero pace in the side after Jrod tore his acl and were reliant on ageing lambert such that we had to throw a raw and completely unready Gallagher into the mix. Our lack of forward options was so bare that Cork played as an AM in a number of games (e.g. Everton, h). Missing Boruc for nearly a quarter of the season cost us clear, identifiable points. The trip to the Etihad still sticks out in the memory. Jos also cost us points: his howlers against Spurs (h) and Newcastle (a) being obvious examples. I could go on.
  19. Good try but you're wrong. That's not what was said. The fact is that Poch had to play those players at times. You're artificially introducing a new point about the frequency at which the aforementioned players featured. Whether they played the majority of time or a handful of times is a new point and not pertinent to the original point pal.
  20. Wrong. I remember losing 3-2 to Spurs at home in MP's second season with gazza, fox and jos all starting. Jos even managed an og.
  21. Edit
  22. Even if that's the case, it's also unlikely that we're going to do a 2013/14 when we finished 8th but with a comfortable gap (notwithstanding a wobbly finish) over the rest of the league.
  23. Remember it's not about the goals #moneyball
  24. Not sure what your point is - but it's barrel scraping, desperation stuff when you have to wheel out the likes of Jrod, a shadow of his former self, Austin, a lower league, injury-prone journeyman with one good season under his belt and Tadic, a player who goes missing half a season as supporting examples. Needless to say, you have weak grasp of the term 'proven quality' when you include six-goal-a-season man Shane Long. Your obsession with palace doesn't do anything for the lucidity of your argument either. Bertrand, Fonte, Davis and VVD are all proven and experienced (even if some of that experience was developed on the job with all the risks that entails rather than acquired). Indeed its no coincidence that defensively we have one of the stronger records in the league. Spot the pattern...
  25. Because apart from VVD (who's not strictly a youngster), our recent signings have been hit-and-miss. Even for all the gushing over Romeu, his limitations have been starkly exposed. It's not about ripping things up. The operative word is 'balance' which you fail to acknowledge. If anything, one complements the other. Bedding in younger players like Boufal (who only has one good season in France to his name), Hojbjerg, Redmond etc would be easier with a bit more experience and proven quality around them. Asking them to change or carry games is a bit unfair.
