  1. Are you simply making the fatuous point that most teams get their players from other teams? The ground's shaking under my feet.
  2. Lallana's been more loyal than Lambert. End of.
  3. Guan has largely rubbished this theory.
  4. If they had been better players and in demand from bigger clubs, maybe they would have been off too.
  5. Reckon it's true - too specific for the journo to wriggle out if it turns out to be ********.
  6. Was always more of an Andy Impey man.
  7. Not saying they play bad stuff - just saying that compared to most English managers of his generation, he's a relative breath of fresh air but that's not saying much. His football is far less attractive than what we've got used to.
  8. If you've been force-fed on route one all your life - there's nothing particularly entertaining or attractive about Bruce's teams.
  9. Was at the Forest game where he missed the pen (the follow-up was even worse). It didn't do anything to his confidence after that. Le Tiss was the last player in the world to dwell on anything -was the epitome of nonchalance and serenity- whereas I could see Lambo dwelling on a miss.
  10. MLT - more pressure pens (usually as part of a relegation dogfight) against higher quality keepers.
  11. A consummate pro
  12. Good article - interesting insight into how Lambert adapted his game to play as a lone striker.
  13. England's play is very different - unlike us, there was little movement off the ball and too much delay in passing it.
  14. Welbez
  15. England's passing is just so pedestrian - unable to move the ball quickly in and around tight spaces where Lallana can turn and cause damage.
  16. Not a fan but Chilesy has done well - a consummate pro.
  17. Can't they just give Johnson and Rooney metal hats and get on with it?
  18. Johnson is a liability -and has got no understanding with Lallana.
  19. Unlikely any of those, including Lambert, would have gone to the WC. Lallana didn't even get off the bench in the meaningless friendly you mention
  20. Agree -should have had 5 (Clyne) and perhaps 6 (Cork).
  21. You do realise we averaged slightly more goals under Poch than Adkins? You forget some truly dire and one-dimensional performances under Nige -Wigan and Sunderland at home spring to mind. And who wouldn't miss Jrod - teams miss full-internationals, especially when their squad is so thin. That has nothing to do with the absence of a plan B.
  22. Reality is most English managers are crap -both in terms of results and the football they play. If anything they've been given too many chances, not too few.
