Don't get me wrong - a lot of the knobs who spout off about Mandela on social networks are even less informed than some on the mongboard -and exhibit the worst form of evangelical, exhibitionist ignorance. But barring that, is it strange to you that people can have or express an opinion without any ulterior motive or purpose in mind?
-
Why does it have to make a difference?
-
Was simply pointing out the differences between N. Ireland and South Africa. And my point was about the use of 'unauthorized', political violence - not the targeting or murder of ordinary civilians which I never addressed. They're very different points, so don't blur them. Perhaps you should stick to your intimate knowledge of men's fragrances.
-
Did I justify the murder of innocents anymore than you?

What institutional channels existed for black SAs to change the status quo - illuminate things for me, sunshine...
-
If only the apartheid government had the equivalent of a fan on the board, huh? Did I say corrupt? What credible, institutional mechanisms existed for black SAs to effect change?

Got a PS4 with BF4, Ghosts and Fifa 14 Some glimpses of greatness but thought the jump from the PS2 to the PS3 provided more wow moments, at least in the early days. Developers are a bit like the sorcerer's apprentice, unable to control or channel their newly acquired powers while others are eking the last drops from the status quo and rushing conversions for next gen consoles. In other words, it's going to take time before we really see what this new hardware can do.

And the struggles in South Africa are different from those in Northern Ireland.
-
Odd you single out the death of white south Africans in the struggles without acknowledging the other side of the balance sheet which towered in comparison. Oh yeh I remember because some were 'terrorists'
-
Well the Apartheid regime certainly thought as much regards the vast majority of the South African population - hence another difference. Curious you overlook that.
-
Plenty. That the UK is well-governed with institutionalised spaces for dissent, making violence -or extralegal methods- much harder to justify whereas South Africa under apartheid was the polar opposite. That's only a start.
-
Am not offended by it at all - just saying there are helmets on here who think the terrorism label carries some extra force in an argument when it may have none whatsoever.
-
The law isn't morality. The Nazis had law just as every other appalling dictatorship has done. So if white farmers fought back against Mugabe -seemingly everyone's favourite cause on here- wouldn't they too be terrorists?
-
And what was official and authorised was apartheid and repression. Hiding behind the cloak of legality doesn't make something moral or right. That's a schoolboy error in jurisprudential terms.

Chambers can be got out quite easily - West Brom who were otherwise toothless had plenty of joy down our right hand side and Redmond ran him ragged in the Norwich game. And of course he offers very little going forward in a team starved of width and pace.
-
Shame some people have to have an opinion about everything, even though they're totally out of their depth.
-
Glasgow - remember, don't try so hard.
-
Its called being 'shouted down' in these parts.
-
Of course, it may have nothing to do with Gaston. Most of his appearances coincided with Adkins tenure and he played a decidedly more open game than MP, for better or worse. A better, if still crude test would be to look at the goals scored when Gaston was in the team under MP.

From what I've seen, Banega is very hardworking - probably been raised on the pressing game.
-
Doesn't come off his line enough for crosses.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-3 Aston Villa
shurlock replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Agree with that - suffice to say while the boy has bags of potential, don't think JWP is the solution at the moment. Davis is more versatile but isn't going to give defenses any sleepless nights much while even with Morgan, it's sometimes been a struggle to get him to go forward more. -
At least, tow the line of your multiple identities, Glasgow.
-
JWP's set pieces are excellent but I haven't seen much from in terms of him taking the ball forward and linking up with the attackers. Davis gets into more dangerous positions than JWP and at this stage in their careers is more versatile. The game was set on plate for JWP tonight as he had plenty of time to pick a pass - yet he chose the high percentage ball. I liked MP's sub - we didn't need another midfielder out there to slow down play and he was decisive rather than scratching his balls till the middle of the second half.
-
Thought fonte was poor against Chelsea - constantly going for players rather than the ball. One encounter against Hazard in the first half summed it up perfectly: won have the ball had he not focused as much on trying to shoulder Hazard out of play. Of course, he might be overcompensating because he's picked up an injury.
