  1. There are more buts, ifs and seems in that piece than when you're at your most eloquent finest. Odd place to start by focussing on Lambert - I would say that favouring Jrod demonstrates NA is fully in control. But then again, as Merse also admits, we're all talking from a distance.
  2. File it under speculation, opinion and conjecture - everyone's got one, everyone's entitled to one. Still if leaving Lambert out is the best Merse can come up with to support his views, I shudder to think what the rest of the case looks like. Say no to drugs.
  3. Does anyone ever, though? Nowdays, pundits trip over themselves to criticise short-termism as if this makes them guardians of truer, purer footballing values. Also ex-pros take care of their own. Heard some of the reactions to Jewell's departure - some pundits found it almost impossible to say it was a good decision, even if it was by mutual consent and way overdue.
  4. Anyone been lurked by TicketOffice? They appeared on my profile after I posted some news on Tadanari Lee's injury. Put a chill in the air.
  5. Or has stumps for hands - been flapping around on my page too.
  6. Or the top-class international CB that in a single stroke could have solved our defensive problems....
  7. Kamil Kosowski is your LM
  8. Is it? Based on what? A loan that might have been taken out for 100,000 different reasons?
  9. Yep thought Pards was a great choice at first, especially as he had become a forgotten man, though seeing us splutter after Xmas 2010, albeit with a late final burst raised doubts. Re. Adkins, can't put it better than you. We'll see -should the worse come to the worst, perhaps Nick Nak won't be so lucky third time around...
  10. If true, that's even more impressive - Nick Nack went against the grain and Nick Nack was proved right.
  11. We had a poor preseason followed by an indifferent start -yes we beat a relegated side but also lost to one. Like the previous season, we were boom-bust under Pards -and I had my doubts that he was the manager to take us up. Nick Nack acted quickly and imaginatively -it would have been very easy to go down another route and go for one of the usual suspects (as the mongboard implored at the time). There was some short-term fallout as we sniffed around for a new manager -perhaps why Nick Nack has refrained (momentarily) from pulling the trigger this time around (evidence of learning???) but that's a quaint footnote on the page of two , back-to-back promotions. Adkins is enjoying a lot of goodwill -understandably so- but truth is that this is as much a vindication of Nick Nack making the right decision at the right time.
  12. Axing pardew was ruthless -and dare I say it positive.
  13. He had taste.
  14. Very odd. Basking in the limelight usually means enjoying publicity...and NA's actively shunned the media and the wider world. A simpler explanation might be the active chance to build something where success and failure are clearly defined and the consequences of your efforts are widely felt. Most people do jobs where they wouldn't know either way whether they really made a difference or areable to see the fruits of their labours. Throw in your average bloke's repressed sporting fantasies -and you can see why buying and running a football club might be an attractive proposition.
  15. A slight anti-climax tbh -as I was hoping for word on Adkins flirtation with resignation last season, the black arts used against former managers and players, Fontegate, Currygate, Nick Nack's missing spoons, the toilet bunker, the culture of speak when you're spoken to - not to mention our fishy finances, Guly's mindbending contractual arrangements, Rasputin's reincarnation as Les Reed and the depletion of the world's rope supplies each and every time NA has had his hands tied. And that's just for part 1.
  16. May the wrath of jonno quick rain down upon you then.
  17. As long as it wouldn't include shining Nick Nack's platforms. That's Sibley's job.
  18. Sean Dyche would be the perfect puppet manager for nick nack, no?
  19. Some proper big hitters there
  20. Fat fingers is only a partial alibi Only really explains those who start threads but not the rest...
  21. Can picture a bronzed Nige in one. Closest he's likely to get to Anfield this season as well...
  22. Strange place to be 'searching for the voice of reason'
  23. Imagine what Ranieri could do with that glut of talent....
  24. I hear that Adkins gets part of his wages docked every time the crowd sings 'one nigel adkins' - makes cortese's blood boil with jealousy.
