Yep agree. As I say, Adkins has shown that he can exploit pace and that players will provide the service as long as they have confidence in the player - Oxlade-Chamberlain being a good example.

Agree. If the problem was how we set up, AOC would have never seen the ball. We used his pace to great effect - one reason why we've been clamouring for pace for ages.

As I said on the other thread, I don't think the problem is how we set up. Its a matter of trust. We got the ball to the AOC in decent positions and exploited his pace; we didn't with SDR. The explanation is simple. The rest of the team trusted AOC; it obviously didn't have the same confidence in SDR. Also its not an either/or. Swansea show you can play slow build-up football that seems to be going nowhere but combine it with injections of pace and quick counterattacking football.

Don't totally buy that - we had no problem getting the ball to AOC in decent, dangerous positions. I think its more that the rest of team has never really trusted the lad.

That statement is as loose as his touch.

We don't play with out and out wingers. We play with inside forwards who are comfortable on the touchline but can ultimately cut inside and get a shot off. From what I've seen, this lad is quite happy to take wide positions. Where he differs from Jrod is that he has a pace to burn and can beat a player, critical if you play in a wide position where you're directly up against the full-back The problem with Jrod is not that he's not a winger. Its that i) he hardly receives the ball -more attributable to Fox and ii) when he gets the ball, he always lays the ball back because he can't beat his man.
