  1. some advice for the wind-up merchants
  2. Of course, it was the soaring ambition of signing Saga that gave it away
  3. On current form, I would take Raza over Saga any day of the week. Takes us back down to three, probably two strikers if Raza leaves. Presumably we'll be in the market again for another CF. Cue more speculation
  4. ...and not to forget MB's juggling titties.
  5. Shame Jermaine Wright's not Scottish.
  6. OP=utter plonker
  7. Either way, Sept 12 @ the Valley is going to be a cracker.
  8. "Whats that about you not washing your lucky scoring pants" (Millwall no.2 to Pato)
  9. Thought Harding and Schneiderlin were the best players on the pitch tonight. Good to see a fullback bomb on as much as Harding did (Lambert had a good first half but faded in the second).
  10. Why not Lallana and Lambert?
  11. Looks like its not just rovers fans who are reacting. Blackpool fans are bemoaning the unfairness of it all - how we can be within a c*ck-hair of going out of business and then splash 7 figures on a quality player. ignorance and sour grapes.... http://fansonline.net/blackpool/mb/view.php?id=219787

    Lambert

Don't think that combo will work - IMO think Saga work better with Lambo who, lets not kid ourselves, isn't the paciest of the players. Either way, we'll get the best out of Lambert with (i) more width to feed him crosses and (ii) pace to play off his knock-downs and ability to hold the ball up.
  13. I wouldn't gloat or want to rub it in.unless we've been treated like c**ts by particular fans given where we've been&come from, I think a bit of humility is in order.anyway there are bigger things to think about.

    get in!

    Lambert

If we do get him and he's good in the air, he'll need proper service. Makes a decent wide player more important than before.

    Lambert

I agree - I might understand the point if lambert was over 30 but at 27 he's in the prime of his career. If he gets a few goals and helps get us out of the division, that will be worth more than a few quid, justifying the transfer fee.
  17. Wonder what happened to Cédric Baseya after he went back to France. For a while, he looked like he would be the perfect successor to Kenwyne Jones.
  18. Adebayo Akinfenwa of Northampton Town should be lining up against us on Tues - a bit-injury prone but will give our defense a proper, proper test. Kicked lumps out of Danny Sh*ttu and Gary Cahill (no mean feat), scoring two goals to help knock out Bolton in last year's cup.

  20. 'Fraid dont really agree with many of the posts. I dont think we played well in either halfs. Yes we matched them physically in the first half, though didn't they only play one man -Morrison- upfront? But how many real saves did their keeper make? How many times did we really get behind them and have them on the backfoot? Not once if I remember. From being our weakest area, I think both our fullbacks are excellent. Shame there were so few options in front of Murty and Harding with the predictable result that both rarely got forward and were forced to hit long ball after long ball. Why was Lallana played on the left? Neither him or James are wide players - we can afford one to play narrow but we need at least one player with scary pace - we havent had a decent wide player since Dyer. McLaggon has shown glimpses but its still early days. Mills will give more balance but will not frighten opponents. Saga and Patterson were horribly isolated - Wotton, Schneiderlin, James were unwilling to make forward runs and only Schneiderlin can find a genuine pass. Most worringly, our midfield just imploded when they got their goal - in theory Wotton ticks all the right boxes but its hard to say what he offers in practise - he doesnt have the juice in the tank to get around the pitch and break things up. I would be interested to know why Gillett started as sub. With the addition of perhaps one more CB, I think our defense is pretty solid while Patterson and Saga aren't the worst combo in the world, though we are spread really thin if either gets injured/suspended/sold. But both defense and attack are only as good as the midfield and that is letting the whole side down at the moment.
  21. So much for experience, then. One is 19; the other is 21. I distinctly thought Pards wanted a bit of experience - there are so many coded references to having too many youngsters in his interviews.
  22. Dont know what the thread's about. Check pardew on Saints player upon which the article is largely based. Puts his words in context. Pards says that bringing players is a must -but any sentient tom, **** and harry knows that- but at this stage is more in hope than expectation.
  23. F**king eureeka our CB problems are solved!!! Recycled wikipedia is more professional than this garbage (that's not to say mills isnt a prospect)
  24. Lancashire's greatest claim to fame and most significant contribution to the club was helping get us a point at Sheff U last season. Mind you it had very little to do with the football. Was sent off for brutally mowing down danny webber in the last min of the game. As Webber was through on goal and one on one with kelvin, Ollie's kamikaze decision to take him out on the edge of the area and get sent off probably earnt us a draw. The tackle was pre-agricultural, more appropriate for the prison shower than the football pitch but hilarious nonetheless. Its hard to say but I really dont think the lad will ever have it.
  25. And whatever happened to Adebayor?
