  1. The pitch appears to be heavily watered. A number of players already lost their footing or misjudged weight of a pass.

  9. No, thank you.
  10. So in future they should be advertised as 'Season tickets - except for the odd game'.

  14. For those interested: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26337542 Michael Wilde is no longer in talks to buy Tranmere - a deal that would have seen former Chelsea defender Albert Ferrer installed as head coach. Rovers chairman Peter Johnson has been in discussions with a number of interested parties, including ex-Southampton chairman Wilde. In a statement, Wirral-born property developer Wilde said the pair had been "unable to conclude an agreement". Ferrer became coach of Spanish second division club Cordoba last week. The 43-year-old, who represented Spain in two World Cups, previously had a short spell in charge of Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem. Ferrer, who also played for Barcelona, featured more than 100 times in five seasons as a player at Chelsea and has also worked as a television pundit. Wilde, a Tranmere supporter, said: "Following recent speculation in the media that I was interested in acquiring Tranmere Rovers, I feel that now is the right time to clarify the situation. "Alongside my excellent bid team, which included Jeremy Butler and Albert Ferrer, I have worked extremely hard over the past six months trying to negotiate a deal with the Tranmere Rovers board." He continued: "I had exciting plans in place, including the appointment of Albert as head coach, aimed at creating a new and successful culture at Prenton Park. Unfortunately, however, following long and protracted talks with Peter Johnson, and despite agreement in respect of many areas, we have been unable to conclude a final agreement. "Consequently, and after much consideration, I have now decided to withdraw from the process and I wish Tranmere Rovers every success in the future." Johnson, who has been involved with Tranmere since 1987, has appealed for fresh investment in the club for several years. He has said he would be prepared to sell his controlling stake to a suitable new owner. The Tranmere Rovers Trust - a supporters' group - are also known to be among the interested parties. John McMahon is currently in caretaker charge of the first team at Prenton Park, with Ronnie Moore suspended pending the outcome of a Football Association inquiry into an alleged breach of betting rules.
  15. That's why the likes of Matt Crocker and Dan Micciche have been brought in.
  16. I watched him play for a bit in the summer whilst helping out at a Nike event, he was contracted abroad at the time. Broke my heart, he wasn't the Freddy Adu we expected and was blowing after 25 minutes. I had no opportunity to talk to him directly, really wanted to ask him about the Saints link and more importantly about his ex JoJo(Google her)
  17. I hope this isn't the second time we shoot ourselves in the foot regarding a cup tie.
  18. Shoot. Just effing shoot.
  19. Davis dropping much deeper than usual. Really disappointed that we are not shooting more from outside the area instead of the forced killer ball. Rodriguez's shot was a prime example. Harper is 40, time to challenge his shot stopping.
  20. Here please: Stream links will also be handy.
  21. 138 as gossip page on teletext.
  22. I very nearly took a job at Swansea 18 months ago! Not exactly this job though & no I am not related to Garry.
  23. My work gear is nike, always preferred addidas truth be told.
  24. The adidas situation rings true to what I have been told. Nicola kicked up a huge fuss regarding a number of mistakes by adidas. He wasn't happy at their PR campaign, the delay in delivery of kits and lack of access to stock. The main issue was the lack of personalisation on training and coaching wear. Which originally came umbranded. Source, member HR staff at Arcadia (own topman) who recently left Adudas.

    Chelsea Academy

Its not an academy, its a development centre. Chelsea Foundation deliver sessions in schools throughout Hampshire and for those children who show ability are invited to attend the DTC. They run one at Portsmouth University (which caused a number of arguments and stories in The News). The second centre is ran in Southampton near Eastleigh. If children show anything of academy calibre ability, they are then invited to either Cobham directly for a trial or sent to the Elite Centre in Ash. Some good coaches and some incredibly poor ones. It isn't directly linked to the academy unless a player is exceptional and I only know of one child to make it through the DTC in Southampton and sign academy forms in four years.
