  1. Not great keeping either was it...
  2. NEVER ever to what Peter Crouch did. Made me mad seeing this again.
  3. I actually we think we played better against United than we did against Reading!
  4. Hmm, let me think.... Manchester, Arsenal, Everton, Spurs v Swansea, Newcastle, QPR, Reading... shall we have a look at the league table...
  5. I like Harry, he makes me laugh, but the guy is the biggest self-promoter in the history of self-promotion. I had more chance of managing Ukraine than Harry 'come and get me I'm off to the Urals' Redknapp!!!! If you can't see how he manipulates every situation, could we please go into business together?
  6. You could write his press releases!!
  7. The truth is Kelvin would not have allowed the free kick in. Kelvin's distribution is worse and neither of them come off their line. So logic says we would have won 1-0 with Kelvin in goal on Wednesday. That said, none of them are top class. In January we need to buy Brad Friedel or Shay Given. Keepers do not need to be young - keepers need to keep the ball out of the net and organise the defence.

  9. I would. We should be full of confidence at home and Norwich suit our style, always have - how many 4-3, 5-4 games have we had, incidentally...! Keep it tight and play our football and we are good enough to beat any team in this division - we already proved that! The only reason we are not top is kamikaze defending from the 1978 Schoolboy Mistakes Annual...!!
  10. Let's just win our games and not get carried away. 1-0 off someone's arse and three points will be fine!
  11. If I was advertising (which being in marketing, I often find myself doing) I wouldn't accept censorship, but then I wouldn't have time to even look at the ad. Of course, Cortese with a football club to run, millionnaires to manage, mulit-million pound unsecured debt to service, team to select, babies to eat, horses to decapitate, fans to alienate, ticket tax to collect, probably has all the time in the world to approve a £250 advertisement in the programme...
  12. Saw it last night, he was easily on-side - level if not half a yard. You know where you should have gone
  13. Saints start winning now we are playing poor teams shocker... This is what we need before we start to play the good sides again, some confidence-building results!
  14. You'll never know the real Chairman. A particular Premiership Chairman seems to be a really lovely guy who has the club's interests at heart, but I have word (from a very reliable source) that he is a meglomaniac who treats it like a toy train set and has on many occasions put off genuine investment in the club...
  15. No, we won fewer games than any team in England in the ten years before Pardew took over, as a result of which we were at the bottom of League One on minus ten. But facts seem irrelevant on this forum...
  16. Dramatic? FACTUALLY we were the worst team in England for winning football matches. No drama. Just the facts. In any organisation, turning that around would be hard. Look how many business have failed because it has proven impossible to turn around a 'failing' company. Where are Oxford United now? Luton Town? Wimbledon? Pardew turned our form around 100%. He did it with the Chairman's money, admittedly. But he changed us from losing to winning. What would you call it?
  17. Pardew turned around a club that had forgotten how to win - at any level! We were awful - truly awful. The Dutch jokers and Lowe has made us the LEAST WINNINGMOST TEAM in ENGLAND - this is all documented. To go from that, to a team used to winning and being disappointed with even draws, is an achievement any manager would and should be proud of. Personally, I think winning the JPT did more for the culture of the club than the Chairman appreciates. However, Pardew and the Chairman clashed and ultimately in those circumstances the man has to go. We were not in turmoil and at the bottom of the league. We were, from memory, something like 13th and one win and a game in hand off of 6th in the league! Our season had swung into gear with a 4-0 away win - can't remember another manager in history to be sacked on the back of those results. Pardew deserves credit for what he did, which is laid a cultural change foundation and for finding Ricky Lambert - our best striker since Steve Moran. Adkins deserves credit for taking that culture and refining it, and above all introducing a brand of football that is not just about winning, but winning the right way. They are two managers whose time with us was perfect for one another.
  18. Hmmm, not sure. That squad doesn't even look good on paper...! BTW was out with some fellas last night who are close to the QPR board and they tell me Hughes was invited to resign on Monday but refused, for five million reasons...!
  19. Say what you like about Chelsea and the way their Chairman operates, their trophy cabinet is a bit more interesting than Arsenal's...
  20. Is this true?
  21. Results. Where is the mystery in that??!!!!
  22. And let us not forget, Avram Gran was one slip away from being the first Chelsea manager to win the CL...
  23. I'm not saying the money was well spent, but you cannot spend the third highest in the dvision and aim just to stay up... I'll bet that wasn't the Chairman's plan, anyway!
