Saints 1-0 Leeds Utd - Post Match Reaction
Legod Third Coming replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
Have been on my feet all day working the bollix off at an exhibition. This made it all worthwhile! -
No 2 is a very frightened Jonny Vaughan
-
Or half the price of a ticket at Stamford Bridge... and people wonder why some of us are in no rush to the Premiership...
-
Finally I agree with you!!!! Why the feck at Adams Park did we not leave 1 or 2 players up at their corners? It immediately means they have to leave a minimum of 2/3 defenders back AND gives us an out. If the player(s) you leave up is also Waigo/Antonio, the opposition are screwed because they know a quick break is a real possibility so leave their entire back four on the halfway line!!! As for getting it out wide, we didn't need to! They ran at us down the middle of the pitch. I've seen lumpier snooker tables!

Glad that we havent given up chasing the playoffs

Yes, all losses and draws count, but when you compare our results with the top teams at places like Brentford, Exeter, Millwall, Orient and Wycombe we often got BETTER results than the top clubs!! We lost so much ground over the first third of the season we were always playing catch-up. Yes, funnily enough if those teams beat us (Colchester, Swindon and Leeds) guess what? It puts an un assailable gap between us. So Colchester have 4 points on us come what may. We started slowly for reasons we all understand. 2010 Form is promotion form so it cannot be Tranmere which is the reason we are so far behind can it? The point is we are now in great form (Tranmere aside). On eight game form we are fourth (with Tranmere bizarrely...) -
It cost a fortune, and has a major design flaw

Yes, I went to Cardiff and it was like playing in my school sports hall. Football matches are not designed to be played indoors!!! Gawd strike a light - as for relaying the pitch, we don't seem to have too much trouble at SMS... mind you perhaps the Wembley turf sees more of the ball... -
I hope all the plastics like you got in early to get your share to see our underperfoming team and hapless tactically inpet manager. Make sure you tell them from Block 530...

Oh FFS - what is it with this country? It's gone to the dogs. Football is a MAAAAN'S game (said in Ray Winstone voice) to be played in all weathers! Come on. If it were down to me: white boots - banned, gloves - banned, tights - banned, cycling shorts - banned... Give us our game back! -
Unless your birthday suit us from Moss Bros I would strongly advise against this on Health and Safety grounds.

Yes, or they would be in the fu ck ing final!!!!!!!!

But all this occured in August and September. We know this. Why do people keep ignoring that we won feck all for two months? That is why we are adrift of the play-offs. No other reason. -

Look, he is there cooking up a solution to our midfield challenges at away grounds. Can I also point out that the most succesful team in the league has a chef as Chairman. If that is not good enough reason to consider the implications of food in our success I don't know what is. Muppet. -
Ah... lol - got ahead of myself there...
-
Oh FFS, they f u c k the pitch up for us!!!
-
Hope that goes for me as I've had a confirmation of my order...
-
Ah, it's gone then!

Will you go when we reach the promised land...
Legod Third Coming replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
I actually think we would invest and be successful in the Premiership, so for me it's not about seeing us win or lose. It's about watching players like Craig Bellamy, John Terry, Cashley Cole and the like - knowing they are the spawn of Satan driving home in £150k motor cars, parking in disabled bays, screwing their mate's exs, smacking night club bouncers... And knowing that they were doing it with the proceeds of the shirt off and on my back... So like I say, will go to the odd game - most likely the Aston Villa type games, but not every week and away games as often as possible as I do at the moment. OK, Wycombe was not a footballing extravaganza but in a perverse way it was fun. What else would I have been doing on a Tuesday night? -
Will you go when we reach the promised land...
Legod Third Coming replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
No, it sums up those of us who appreciate that anything in life worth having is worth earning and fighting for. You go find a pretty girl today, get excited, marry her and watch as before your eyes she ages into something that reminds you all you married was a picture book... Or go and find someone who you can actually spend your life with and age together realising that the person you married, you wanted to travel with looking in the same direction, not looking at one another. I will enjoy whatever success comes our way, don't get me wrong, but I will simply go less when we reach our destination. Why? Because there isn't a man alive who understand the real value of life who doesn't enjoy travelling in hope more than arriving... We see it on this site every day, one win sustains you for ten minutes. The hope of a win sustains some of us for life. -
Thanks for that. All I get is news about Charlton and Brentford! Oh and Dagenham and Redbridge- four teams I have no interest in !
-
This is not quite the same as my thinking but not far off. I still want us to succeed and be promoted fairly quickly because we will need to be for reasons given above - if we're not Pardew will be sacked, players will leave and we could just become Leeds, destined to stay here forever. I simply won't go as much in the Premiership because I know in my heart of hearts it won't be as much fun, win or lose.

Not me, don't get me wrong. I will go to the play-off final and love it if we win - I'm a SAINT after all. But I can't get excited by the prospect of seeing Fergie again... It's too much like playing American 'franchises'. Something about being down here slumming it has made me remember why I enjoy football. It's reminded me that football is a journey not a destination.
