  1. He goes by the nickname 'Money Saving Expert'... it's all there on that link. The police in this country are fecking useless.
  2. Nope, this is the man I saw when I clicked on the link, try it. http://www.picknmix.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/martin-lewis-300x300.jpg
  3. David I don't think you meant it like this, but never a truer word spoken in jest!!! It sums up years of the managers I've been watching...
  4. I can confirm that is Martin Lewis.
  5. Good point, very good point. However, when I have watched us concede, all the goals have come down the left or the middle, although I didn't see Saturday's game. I still don't see the value in changing a winning team. Especially not one that has scored 10 goals to concediung 3...
  6. Not at right back though, that was my point!
  7. Totaly agree, Phil. I come from that school that says you don't change a winning team!!!
  8. Although, results with James in the team versus Murty...
  9. Er, so we should structure football programmes for people who aren't interested in the football. Are you a BBC executive by any chance...
  10. James' delivery from set pieces is a great attacking option for us. Rememebr those Lallana corners...!!!!
  11. Agreed, but this is the problem of being a fan. You don't appreciate what's going on at the time always and we also want results before it is sometimes possible to achieve them. Let's say Pards had come in and won the first three games. He would then have thought, hang on, this lot are good enough. And soon enough it would have started going TU and then we would have been further back than square one. That old adage, no pain no gain is so apt in our case. We had to go through the early season pain to be where we are now. Well, that's my fervent belief anyway!
  12. Where is it now I wonder???!!!!!!
  13. Wrong, we were ten from 1st!
  14. What was it Oscar Wilde said? We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars...
  15. I think he was watching and fact-finding. That's why for me, early season games were a right-off. Bizarre as it sounds, I was actually quite positive after that game because we then knew that Pardew knew the scale of the task.
  16. The day Mr Liebheer arrived and fired Wotte I knew we were moving in the right direction. When he appointed Pardew, he confirmed it. When we started dropping players who are no good (not good enough yet) and buying a spine for the team, it was finally sealed. Despite some results (Swindon away maybe), all of this season has been an upward curve for me - results early in the season were frankly irrelevant because what you were seeing was the entrails of the previous regime being cleared away. And in reality, they were cleared inside 9 games which is pretty bloody impressive given that it was the excrement of five years being swept away. So the lowest point has to be the day before Herr Liebherr arrived. From now on, it's highs all the way, even if we get turned over this weekend - which I sincerely hope we do not!
  17. hahahahah. to be honest, I had a good day on the horses and thought it was oneof those 'impossible' bets that just occassionally come in... My 18/1 about promotion I am genuinely hopeful of collecting on!
  18. Lol - I had a touch more than that on...
  19. That is correct. I took 18/1 promotion and 150/1 Champions. Boy, will I get excited if the latter ever becomes a posssibility!!!!
  20. This is a man my wife told me was a Scottish sports presenter when she saw him out walking his dog... I went through every Scottish presenter I know before she finally said: "That was him, Adam Crozier..." Bloody woman! Nice dog though.
  21. He's signing it, not writing it!
  22. Agreed. I would have a full ground over a half empty one any day - so long as I can get in!!!!!!!
  23. Nick, you should run a book on it. I'll take Lambert, Lallana, Hammond and Connolly
  24. If he fights for a place then he's worth keeping. If he doesn't, he's just another Winston Bogarde!!!
  25. Of late, there has been far too much personal abuse on this forum. And it's not on. We could ALL take a deep breath a bit more often and think twice before posting - and he who is without sin is not throwing any stones from the Third Coming household by the way!! But times are looking far, far more positive than they have since the end of 2003. That's six years of pain fellas. It's long enough. Gentle ribbing - fine. Winding-up even is ok as long as everyone participates fairly and does not indulge in personal abuse. I don't want this forum to HAVE to be moderated. In the same way I don't want to HAVE to have my community policed. We are all adult enough to police ourselves and recognise and apologise when we have gone too far. So can we all call it quits? And let's debate the respective merits of players, managers, chairmen and even fans, in good humour? Because of all things this club has given me over the years, laughter is by far the most infectious and welcomed.
