I know people who earn hundreds of thousands of pounds a year and like me they never have any cash. It is the fallacy of those on say 30k a year that if you earn 150k you can suddenly bank 120k. You can't. Everyone lives to their means. So if you earn £2m a year, chances are you spend what you earn. Yes, you'll have advisors and so on, but you buy a £150k Ferrari (or two), you pay £20k per month on your mortgage on your bloody great house, you holiday first class in Barbados and so on... I'm not saying have sympathy - such people are clearly very very lucky. But they're not defacto sat on millions in the bank. Recent evidence shows a huge proportion of Premiership plays are broke within three years of retiring.

Our football today has been a mix of brilliant and bloody useless!
-
I told you Yoshi would save us a goal!
-
We need to win this we are the much better side! Just that final ball not quite falling for us!!
-
He doesn't look back to his best still. Would play Puncheon myself...
-
He needs to grow some balls. Stop chucking himself on the ground and USE his undoubted talent by staying on his bloody feet!
-
Today he looks like he doesn't know how to play football.
-
He is having a shocker. Get him off before he costs us a goal!
-
We need to get Yoshi off and get someone who knows how to play football on!
-
He doesn't look 'match' fit - or anywhere near as fit as he was before the injury. Players need game time - this is why you have a reserve team. Baffles me why we don't use it properly but then no-one seems to these days...

Anyone actually honestly think we are worse than: Reading, Villa and QPR? Really?
-
Gutless - no heart, no passion, no fight.

Failure of tactics both off and on the pitch sadly... Needed to get the ball out wide quicker and try to get behind a bank of defenders that was 10 wide or 10 deep depending where we were on the pitch. We lacked our usual sharp, crisp passing and movement because Harry (loathe him or loathe him) had actually done his homework... No lack of passion or effort, lack of application and lack of thought. And a few underperformed - Gaston, Rickie, Cork all nowehere near their best. -
He has come back from injury too soon, not for the first time. I don't underatdn why we changed a formation and line-up which slaughtered the team currently in second in the league myself...

Tesco can sell you a pint for 89p whereas you pay £4 in a pub... Not helped by a government (successive governments) who are hell bent on curing binge drinking by increasing the bloody price of booze... What's needed is a government which understands: a) alcahol education could be ASSISTED by encouraging responsible parents to take their kids to 'drinking' environments from a young age b) local pubs used to be a home to the 'Big Society' - local people meeting and helping one another, sharing problems and halving them c) pubs can create wealth - recycling money into the local economy rather than into faceless corporate monsters d) most people are responsible when treated responsibly e) happiness underpins a successful economy - it boosts confidence and well-being (reducing the health budget and welfare budget) f) drinking at home is the scourge of society since this is when most depression and drink-related illness actually occurs (not in social environments - where the environment tempers behaviour). So ultimately, we need a government which invests in pubs. Simples.

Newcastle 4-2 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
Legod Third Coming replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
This season Morgan has scored four goals. We have won none of the games in which he has scored. There, sir, is not a scapegoat. There is facts. Don't let him score again. -
I don't agree with this. We don't know how he was treated other than he was fired. People are fired every day of the week. To be honest (while I love the bloke dearly and would be happy were he still here) you could have fired him after he made three changes when 2-1 up with thirteen minutes to go against Manchester United. I said at the time, there is not another Premiership quality manager who would have made that decision. It was a mistake - a bad one. It cost us a win. It showed categorically that he was learning - he would probbaly admit as much. And while many lauded the result against Chelsea, team selection dug us a hole that substitutions then filled... So how much had he really learned (looking objectively not with the afterglow of resurrection)? The Chairman decided he couldn't do the job at this level and he found someone he believed could. It happens every day. It's not shabby, it's progress. I sincerely hope Adkins proves he can do the job at this level but your Chairman wanted someone qualified not a trainee... And that's life. Adkins is a good man and I hope he was dealt with professionally. But there's no nice way to fire someone...

Hmm, not sure about that - he's a big lad! But I will have a word. Anything that gives me a chance to chat up his missus!! Funny though, I could have sworn that we could have been three up by then!
-
Did he really say this??!! I will have words if so! (our daughters are in the same class). But this is factually complete tosh - surely the stats prove it? We were all over them like a cheap suit.

SAINTS 3 City 1 Reactions & MOTM
Legod Third Coming replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Yep, three of us said exactly that at the time. I know fans of teams like us say this, but it is FACT, lesser teams do not get decisions against the big boys. (Just look at some of the shockers we got in our favour in League One when we were a 'big club'!!) Now, either this is deliberate on the part of the FA or it is subconscious on the part of referees who make known or unknown judgements about respective quality and allow this to influence their decisions. -
Cortese and Le Tissier arrange meeting
Legod Third Coming replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I think it's a great shame that Matt and the Chairman aren't now going to talk. It should have been handled discreetly and behind closed doors. Matt doesn't come out of this with any credit, which is a greater shame. I also hope that it is not the end of the matter. They both want exactly the same thing - our club to be the most successful it can. -
I nearly turned the game off to be honest. Wasn't a game I cared about anyway, but FFS, how hard is it to shut up for 60 seconds? In future, we should all just lamp anyone who abuses this sort of thing. That's how you deal with these sort of scumbags - use a language they understand. Hard to make a noise when you're unconscious!

When we win the European Cup, I will allow us to be just smaller than Villa...
