Alleged fraud, betting or otherwise is not a minor transgression and IMO if you are able to arrogantly carry that off in front of your adoring public then, and I stress IMO, you are probably capable of anything with regards to 'minor transgressions'. I have lost my faith and trust in MLT and whilst that saddens me I doubt he is bothered about my lack of trust one iota as we don't know each other and i am according to you in the minoriity of 1.

Agreed although in recognition of their efforts we could have the Le Tissier, Crouch, Lynam and Fialka stand. Rename the Kingsland to Bates and the Itchen to Liebherr and if anyone else devotes their entire life to the club or saves it from extinction with many millions of their own pounds then the Chapel or Northam can be renamed but that may be a while yet.

Would have been 922 if you had made it to the game of course. Far to many cliches in that detailed match report to suggest you were ar the game. Where do you live btw, Kendal?

Hi Johnny, I wasn't aware of Cottee's antics but thanks for the insight. For the record i was just quoting the line up on the Sky Website and wasn't bigging Cottee up anymore than the dour Alan McNally. I can only quote what I see, perhaps next week it will be Paul Walsh so start digging. The double standards appear to by Sky's not mine if MLT has been dropped from the show.

No decided to get this thread going before Pancake woke up. Think it deserves a separate thread away from the whole book and Pinnacle discussions. Who said anything about sleep? Been up all night waiting on your reply, I thought your question was urgent.

Temporarily erased at best by the looks of things.

I have no evidence other than MLT was or was not involved in a fraud but the police did seemingly have enough to go to the CPS with who turned away on lack of evidence? Apparently not but not in the public interest to use Police resources. Do you play Monopoly Wes because I think you'll agree he drew a nice card from the Community Chest this time. Given this knowledge does it not allow us to question his integrity and therefore can we not question that which cannot be easily proven such as 40 pages of well wishes from his adoring public. The only ridiculous thing is those who blindly ignore their hero's shine may be a tad tarnished. Only natural for those with an enquiring mind to start to question some of MLT's recent actions and god forbid we start digging into Pinnacle and the rubbish he has spouted on that affair to date. We need a manager - only ex-saints need apply?! What's the point in guessing about Pompey's trial and tribulations? Just becaue MLT was a legend of this club does not mean we should not be allowed to discuss why he has disappeared from the opinion pages on the SKY website and been off the screens for 3 weeks. BTW Wes you're slipping you took over 8 hours to reply to that post not as good as your usual 3 minutes.

Good luck to Tony Cottee, today sitting in (or replacing?) for the missing Matt Le Tissier. Has Sky kicked him into touch? Where is the gazelle like Shipperley when you need him? Very curious indeed even with my alleged OCD.

Shouldn't our focus be on getting fans in before the game?

LOL - it may be rubbish Tame but I am far from embarrassed by my opinions. With regard to my old sparring partner Wes if I hounded him to answer every question of mine that he refuses to acknowledge my post count would have doubled by now. He's like a dog with a bone and yet I get called obsessive, funnily enough it's usually by you almost everyday which makes you......... How are the Tyramine levels?
-
Wes do you have an alarm or something everytime I post? 3 minutes - a bit slow tonight! So do you think MLT has been suspended or resigned or a more simple explanation? So many questions. With regards to your question I would respond by saying can we believe anything Mr Le Tissier says anymore if he was prepared to get involved with the opportunity to allegedly defraud a spread betting form and take le tiss out of the fans by running the hardest he ever has for SFC just to save his own skin? Happy go lucky Maverick or selfish arrogance? I merely asked the question could those 40 pages be verified and anyway which film star, sporting star, political heavyweight has ever had the arrogance to include 40 pages of plaudits from a bunch of unknowns. He has the comments from some well known people and that is fair enough but did some of the greastest biographers and racontuers such as Ustinov, Niven and Johnston (some of my personal favourites) include 40 pages of letters from wellwishers from the general public, as a generous chance to give them a voice? Now you have managed to draw me back into a debate on which I felt i had explained my view enough I do have nothing else to add on the book or Pinnacle on this thread. I do want to discuss what is happening at Sky and would start another thread but the last time i did that I made Pancake a bit cross unintentionally and so I'm keeping this thread going to discuss MLT's contract at Sky and nothing more. Is it over for him at Sky. just suspended or absent due to more mundane reasons? Whatever it doesn't look good.

Club answers beer pricing/disabled fans travelling
Nineteen Canteen replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Bet that deosn't happen in the Corporate suites where they serve 'real' beer and where the SISA representative can allegedly afford to pay for the chance to buy a drink at that bar but not actually afford the extra 30p they have to pay over and above what they consider a reasonable price. Draino, I have long decided beverage purchase on the concourses is a waste of time not because of price but quality as you outlined. Better off being a pot collecter and drinking the dregs! Fuel up before entering and relax in the ambience of your surroundings at halftime instead of trying to get a drink or a cup of tea that has a tendency to strip layers from your mouth lining due to the concoction of powder and water so hot it could melt mild steel. They should do what they do in theatres and allow customers to order their drinks for halftime and left on occassional tables dotted around the concourse with names underneath. Mr Draino76 drinks party, how very civilised. The most the drinks could be standing for is 45 mins so probably not as bad as the pint you buy at 2.45 and poured at 1.45 and the tea would still be hot enough to melt plastic. -
Would appear not. This week Tony Cottee joins the usual panellists and it's interesting to note MLT's blog and 'expert opinion' has been removed form the Sky website. 2+2 = 5 or is there a more simple explanation depending which way you look at it? http://www.skysports.com/opinion/0,25219,12054,00.html

Sully his reputation after Celtic? Come on Ron even Burley has a chance in a two race especially if you're on teh one with all the money. Rangers are skint. WGS couldn't sully his Celtic reputation if he managed Elgin City. I would be surprised if he managed Portsmouth in fact i would be surprised anyone would want the job except for Tony Adams.

So, why DID Mark Fry prefer Pinnacle over Liebherr?

What did the Romans ever do for us? Will you ever get it over it Wes? Roads and baths and stuff, oh and the Daily Mail masquerading as the Daily Bluenose. -
I think our oldest has stopped going as his mate doesn't buy a box and he thinks he has some divine right to a permanent freebie. Amazing the alleged arrogance of some fans.

Club answers beer pricing/disabled fans travelling

2) The question I think was to allow disabled fans to travel unaided. Would you like the indignity of being enabled onto a coach? The answer was no. -

LOL - They'd probably be the most expensive in the world! Is Guinness now 'reassuringly expensive' or does 'wife beater' still own that title. -

Impressive and not surprised by the pricing of beer, they should slap on another 70p for the temerity of asking the question. As I understand Guinnes is only sold in the corporate/hospitality suites the price of a pint is hardly an issue if it is come and join the rest of us under the stands. Disappointing out of a fleet of away coaches they cannot provide one coach with disabled facilities so fans can enjoy the matchday experience as any able bodied fan. The answer is the longest no I have read for a while and is a cop out IMO probably along the lines of the reality that we only have 1 or 2 who would use it so it's not worth the extra cost. The number is irrelevent and I'm sure if it meant adding a small amount to the cost of away travel I'm sure most fans would be happy to pay that bit extra to make the group more inclusive. Don't care about the price of beer in Corporate and they should be lucky it's not a fiver a pint, privileges come at a cost accept it. Disappionted that the club could not take a lead on the disabled access on coaches and I wonder if the person who asked the question on Monday has examples of what other clubs do to help fan's with similar issues. I wouldn't leave it at that and worth making further investigations, unaccpetable IMO, and a missed opportunity by the club. -

Nothing was guaranteed with those two. McGoldrick was dependent on which player turned up as under JP he was a mere shadown of the player he became during the second half of the season and who can forget 2 of the most woeful penalities we have ever seen? With regards to Surman he had become a shadow of the player that he was when we earned selction for the England U21's. Thereafter, he inexplicably went off the boil and whilst he had the occassional great game he had become consistent in only at best, his steady and unremarkable play. Could he have benefitted from dropping down a league? Maybe, but IMO good players become great players by playing with players at the highest level they can attain. IMO Surman needed the move more than we needed him to stay and perhaps watch an obvious talent decline even further. With his love of Saints I would love him to come back when we are in a position to have him back and he has found his game and confidence again. -

Yawn - I bet you'll take an FA Cup final appearance now Wes. John is correct to say that there are similarities in the way the club is being run now and when under Lowe and comparisons are a lot closer than when under Wilde or Crouch. The only thing I don't agree with John is , is his insistence over the urgent improvement of results. We've only been beaten twice and only once well beaten and our goal difference of -1 shows that we have already built a platform in 8 games on which to build despite giving the reat at least a 6 week head start. Financial prudence and a clear business plan is how NC and ML have set their stall out but the one obvious difference they have recognised is the importance of a good manager and one open to new ideas. Lowe got that wrong more often than he got it right but was the one area where eventually he allowed himself to be influenced by fan pressure and on his return last season he was clearly admanant to learn from that mistake and failed not replacing JP quick enough, the Reading result buying JP time he didn't deserve IMO. ML's money has allowed the club to become debt free and with that millstone removed from our necks we are in a tremendous and very lucky position but it is interesting to see that financial prudence remains paramount and more interesting to see if the slow but positive influences on our results will be tolerated because this season I would be surprised if we finish above halfway but provided we finish the season in a flourish like Bournemouth did last year for example and carry on next season as they have this year I would be very happy with that. It is strange to see how money and power can silence most critics and could you imagine Lowe charging McMenemy last season for his seat? The uproar and pomposity would have been a sight to behold but this season hardly a murmur. Of course Mcmenemy was vicariously charged for a ticket but IMO he probably ponced his 'seat at the game' off Crouch who IMO added McMenemy's name to his box for a little high profile kudos and gloating - no more supporting the new regime than positioning himself for a return. Lowe was not and never will be the only charlatan in the firmly closed closet of our past. If there is a god he is called Markus and I pray he is in it for the long haul despite inevitable rocky roads ahead no doubt lined with impatient fans calling for cheque books to be opened. The first of which, because of injuries, maybe the M6. -

Don't worry, a new copy of your favourite paper will land on your door step tomorrow and you can start cut and pasting some new 'arguments'. Night night sleep tight.
