  1. No, you should stick with your original opinion. In this instance you can't change how you feel and if smug posters want to challenge a post where most know where you are coming from then best ignore them. Its not a time for text books.
  2. Last 3 games I have watched are Exeter, Stockport and MK Dons all at home all home wins. I have seen nothing in those 3 performances to suggest we can get near to beating Pompey tomorrow and their performance on Tuesday night suggests that we will be well beaten. I hope I am wrong but they have more reason to raise their game (one already above our level) and pure survival can be a hell of a motivator and AP will have a job motivating our troops to that level. In fact I am concerned some of our players may be overawed by the atmosphere. Lambert was unaware how much it meant and Waigo and Antonio I suspect will be clueless about the importance and their inconsistency and light 'weightedness' must be a concern. Davis, Thomas, Harding and Jaidi are potentially the only players who may have experienced games of this intensity. I hope if the worse happens and we lose I hope it is with dignity and any arrests are purely from the blue corner.
  3. No but I was hoping for a wrong again NC from Kevin.
  4. Feels like an unexpected day off school but you have to go to the dentist. Suddenly double Chemistry seems attractive.
  5. I have no problem with that and could be MLT's life coach or business advisor for all I care, doesn't discount the fact he represented us well today IMO. Seemingly doesn't post on here either from which we can draw an interesting conclusion.
  6. Surely it should be Jailhouse Rock?
  7. The derby is not important at all, it is meaningless, irrelevent and without worth or merit. This is not my opinion just something I have been indoctrinated with over the past few months with everyone hoping with glee and hatred that they go out of business. No more derby matches is what we wish for ergo they are not important.
  8. Still, a lot better than Mike Osman screaming like a banshee. The Alan Ball memorial probably the most cringing pre match delivery ever experienced.
  9. control
  10. Agreed, and history cannot be altered and nor should it. Likewise he has hardly covered himself in glory since he left for Sunderland and the fact he has deserted supporting the club that now it has finally turned a corner for the better is difficult to understand. Afterall, our new owners were only trying to find an equitable way to welcome back directors from the past and heal those wounds. Paying for a ticket is hardly a major issue when you still have a seat in the Directors box and no doubt plenty of fawning towards LM from some quarters which would be worth the entrance fee alone surely.? Not to mention a free lunch at the captains table if I were to venture a guess. McMenemy and Crouch should consider picking up their dummies as no matter how badly the club treated me I can't imagine a scenario where I wouldn't come back for more. Do they really love the club or was it popularity seeking rhetoric?
  11. And why did he choose to pluck him from obscruity? He had been following his career closely and thought he was the next big manager in waiting and the ideal man to turn us around? Sorry, but that doesn't sound believable IMO. Nigel who? Was the shout at the time and initially made D&G look appealing. LM can opine on how it was but objectively look at the future without reference to himself? In the kingdom of the blind the 'I' man is king.
  12. Did anyone else hear Kevin on Talksport this afternoon? We was the fan's representative in their weekly slot to predict the results of the main games at the weekend. He was inevitably asked about the Saints v Pompey rivalry and how the fact Pompey may be out of business should a replay be required. I was wondering if Kevin was a regular poster on here and if so will he reveal his identity. I am guessing he isn't or at best a very casual poster because he spoke a lot of sense - he even showed up Mark Dennis which isn't difficult and I was surprised to learn he was at Fratton Park on Tuesday night. Anyway, Kevin fair play to you if read this I thought you did us proud even though your prediction that Palace will score 2 against Villa was , how can I say, ambitious? 2-1 to Saints - your voice couldn't hide what you really think and sensed you really wanted to say 1-1 as the most likely result and like Hawksby said, that could be a win for us anyway come the 23rd/24th Feb. Somehow couldn't bring yourself to admit we may not beat them tomorrow especially on national radio and I don't blame you. Hope reigns!
  13. I was there in the front rows of the Kingsland / Chapel wing. Change of a scene for me and Wes is probably not far from the truth and if you read this thread it's full of fan's different perceptions which are often innocently wrong. Lets face it I wasn't the only one who got it wrong and if you had been there or the goal made / scored in the opposite corner of the ground those in the lower rows of the Northam may have got it wrong. Being a member of the attendance police is a position adopted by those unable or afraid to make their own comment or as an excuse to berate those who do. I don't know Greenridge but my guess is you attend the Rose Bowl more than you attend SMS and I doubt your commitment to Saints in terms of time and money is a match for mine but I may be wrong, just a perception you understand. If everyone took your stance on the post match reaction threads it would be as popular as a 4 day county match at the Rose Bowl in our wettest summer. Some us don't post for plaudits or see it as a popularity contest but simply to post their honest opinions and occassionaly they can be proven to be wrong but in such a subjective matter that is rare. Pity one of the forum owners can't see that but that again is a feature of the puerile nature that sometimes pervades this forum and why it will never get its paid up membership remotely close to match the number of season ticket holders.
  14. And you have a way with emoticons. Nice to see such youthful expression but in my experience posters who favour them as liberally as you tend to spit their dummy out eventually. Night, Night, sleep well.
  15. Match report from OS http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10280,00.html#continue Not seen the TV footage but at least we know who scored. I thought it was Lallana who assisted and so do the OS but I was unwrapping my sandwiches and reaching for my flask at the time.
  16. No wonder Cortese is worried
  17. Ottery you dumb fool don't believe all that is written on here either listen to the commentary or read the professional reports not those trying to support their own arguments with lies. Our first goal came courtesy of our Crazy Gang approach and nice touch by Lallana to Lambert. If I remember correctly Lallana deftly controlled a well timed pass by Kelvin. Papa's involvement was to watch in awe.
  18. More reality altering he did not make the first goal and would rather he had Lambert's finishing ability or even Lallana's for all his industry. He is supposed to be a striker after all and not a winger.
  19. I wonder if you wish to alter reality to suit your own agenda. Lallana set the first goal up somewhat more memorable than Papa's glaring miss in the first half not unlike his miss from 2 yards in front of the chapel the other week - can't remember the game so won't make it up. Unfortunately we don't get points for 'scaring' defenders and his inconsistency is simply frustrating. He is quick out of the blocks but his quality dimishes markedly over 90 minutes and that is why he is more effective as a super sub. I can remember one glorious BWP goal in the Championship no less, again in front of the Chapel in fact i can remember one or two. Again though not a great player but I liked his youthful enthusiasm and big smile even if Wes Dour Tender cannot. They are very much on a par.
  20. ...or Benji thinks he is Alan Hansen and nobody can have an opinion more knowing than his own. A few others agree with me about Papa and where have I slagged him off exactly? You may not agree with my comparison but hardly a slagging off. The best thing for me last night about his performance was that he seems to have cracked the offside rule. I thought our full backs played well as I mentioned previously but overall and especially after our second goal it became a very tedious game. Nothing wrong in that as it was the right result but it puts Papa's performance into context. Lets see how he gets on this Saturday or more importantly against Norwich shall we Alan? We need our strikers to deliver more than just movement especially if the quality of ball from wide positions is generally poor.
  21. The tail is probably sticking out of the water. Bleach and Brush required.
  22. Well I laughed - about as much use.
  23. Who mentioned MLT? Just reference to our darkest hour and showing some empathy as to how those Pompey fans are feeling. Thought losing a relative was a good analogy as that is how I felt seeing Fialka wheeled out as our backer last year. If Pompey fans feel they are losing a relative its not them who have been f u c k ing the club is it?
