Can you hear something? It's very quiet but there is definitely a nagging little whine going on. Yes, it's a tiny minnow in League Two shouting to be heard by the bigger clubs like Bournemouth and Brighton. pompey – England’s trailblazing club which continues to break new ground. Really? Summer is here, it must be time to beg and cajole via grand claims of superiority and rousing war cries designed to drag money from the easily-led. Tifosy have done a great job in keeping on pushing it and the deal we have got with them is absolutely fantastic – all the money effectively goes straight into the Academy and they are not getting anything out of it. Whoa hang on, back up, what was that? There is an extra word in that sentence that gives it a different meaning....why? We've seen these deals before that didn't cost the club anything and in the past they were proved to be lying to their own supporters. I'm sure things have effectively changed.

Koeman's first Southampton press conference 11/7/14

any news on our old interpreter, has he been offered a new deal? Come on you shaints! -
He is ITK - so if I want to know anything about Accrington Stanley I'll give him a shout.

The worst thing for me is that it's now difficult for Britain to be taken seriously when telling other countries or hardline religions how they should live their lives when it's becoming obvious that our society has been infested with the worst type of perverts for decades. How can we be critical of the way women and children are treated elsewhere? These latest revelations are PR gold dust to the extremists who want to change western society, I hate to think how we as a country are being portrayed in some parts of the middle east. Harris, Savile etc have done massive damage to the image of the UK, if it is shown that government colluded to protect offenders, this country will look like a cesspit paedo camp.

Five years? This thread has more history than the current company AFCpompeyphoenix2013PDTbeggingcharityincorporated.org. Happy anniversary you bedwetting nutjobs, let it go, there's nothing to see here, as one infamous poster said two takeovers ago.

how can you have a hissy fit when nothing is happening? You really need to save your attention-seeking outrage and childish moral stances for match threads - or transfer discussions.

and while we are on a positive path - we may well find we are underwhelmed by some of his signings, but let's not be hasty to judge... I seem to recall getting excited about Ramirez and Osvaldo, whereas the likes of Cork and Davis, the sort of players that the Mexican Wave wasn't invented for - have been far more important too us than the 'glamour' signings. Build Ronnie, build.

While not impressed with the exodus, it is an exciting opportunity for the boss to prove his worth. And on another positive note, we have just robbed Man Utd and Liverpool in the street, as we did with Arsenal over the Ox who looked worth every penny of £500K in some games he played for us in his last season. If we can't find a decent left back for £10M I'd be surprised. The key is to wisely reinvest the top dollar prices that clubs are paying us....the next four weeks will demonstrate whether the project is over, or entering a new era. The managerial appointment would suggest the latter.

of course Madrid haven't signed him. The highly-rated midfielder will have turned his back on a host of offers from Premier League clubs, declined the chance of Champions' League football and sensibly pledged his future to plucky pompey - who will in turn have spurned the advances of several European giants and fought off competition to retain the services of the future England international, allowing him to lead them to promotion glory. And bestest of all, those 'facts' can all be shoehorned into paragraphs of eight words.

it may be quicker to ask, is there anyone who is impressed with that farewell letter? (Other than people trolling for attention) Poorly-advised is the polite description. An interview talking about the great times we have shared with him and a heartfelt thank-you and goodbye would have gone a long way to halting the out-of-control truck that this hatred bandwagon has become. He can't have wanted to leave like this. Captain Mainwaring had him sussed long before Clattenberg. Stupid boy. But on a positive note, I do thank Poch and Hodgson for whacking up the value of the squad - no one gets a bargain at SMS anymore, it's all top dollar!

Appalling show of grace from the Club and some fans

He's a bit thick, he's gone - bank the cash and forget him. Save the love for Rickie, a true club legend. -
Well if Awford doesn't go over budget he will be the first manager since they won the first division title who hasn't. It just seems odd that you have to officially announce something blindingly obvious. Wenger assures Arsenal fans that he won't pleasure himself with farm animals this season....Mourinho confident that none of his players are heroin addicts....Awford says he will stick to the agreed budget.
-
Yeah, not impressed by the style of that one, but we pocket the cash and move on.

some good points, and a funny one from Trader! I hope Spurs fail, but I wish the main three players well. It was likely that talented youngsters heads would be turned, but we have done some fantastic business. If the add-ons are to be believed and are realistic, £31M for Shaw?? Nice. Keep the production line rolling. To put it into context, we would drop any player tomorrow if it suited us, so they have no reason to worry about what happens to Saints. Loyalty is a rare thing - remember how Kelvin could have gone to West Ham for an easy life but stayed and played a big part in the return. That aside, there ain't much of it about. Bring on the next era!

Naked wood? Is Avram in da house?... Yes, that child-maimer brought nothing but bad luck to pompey - the honest club was tainted by dirty cash made from illegal arms dealing. Not that he actually owned the club, that was just a little irregularity supported by false paperwork overlooked by the authorities - but I digress. His time at Fratton was a disgrace and best consigned to the boardroom toilet of history! The old villain smashed up the oak panels, did away with the heritage, and his whole reign should be wiped from history - all of it! All of it apart from the Wembley appearances.... And the cup 'win'. And the night that Pele/Maradona declared them the greatest club in sport. And the win at SMS. Yes, it's just another round of that old pompey parlour game,cherry-picking history! Nasty villainous owner gives fans the time of their lives. Luckily Terry the shafted builder took control of the furniture made by Jesus during his old man's take your son to work days, but is there any sign of the old corner flags that were cut from the main sail of HMS Victory by Queen Victoria?
-
effing 'shares' - surely even the thickest of the thick must now be wondering how the property developers can keep on offering you new shares in something without diluting your existing share of fantasy ownership?

Singing is the least of our worries. It's like debating the title of a book that we haven't written yet. Let's get to the point where we can celebrate scoring a consolation goal without breaking someone's leg, then perhaps move onto putting out a team that can actually compete - then we'll worry about a song.

Going to the trouble of checking out the stock levels of their full replica kits is Nutjobbery above and beyond the call of duty! The much-coveted PTS medal of honour will no doubt be on the way soon. You can clean it every day - to fill all those hours that you obviously have spare!

WE ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. But I did get to see Lallana and Rickie playing in the World Cup! And a record number of yellow card offences go unpunished! Funny sort of night, and not in the good way. Glad I gave up four years ago.
-
The door is open - spend, spend, spend!!! Farm out youth, fill the squad, it's Christmas again! Tonight they're gonna party like MC Storrie is on the decks and DJ Lampitt is in da house.

Craig Westcarr has revealed Pompey’s ambition persuaded him to snub four League One clubs in favour of dropping down a division. That and perhaps the two year contract on improved wages? There's a lad with ambition! The chance to play in the third tier? - no, lower please, lower. Would you like to play in the Premier League? No, the Championship will do for me ta. Fancy a game in the World Cup? Nah, a pointless international friendly would be more my scene. Want to be a pro footballer? Not really, I'd prefer to work in a shop. It can only be the lure of playing as part of the best atmosphere in world football.
-
I'd have thought that 'nominal' for League Two is more likely to be around the £50K mark. Their cut should be enough to pay Connolly through the summer. The financial gulf between the lower leagues and the Championship widens with every day that passes. They must be pleased that they put their confidence in youth and concentrated on the academy to provide the players who will get them back to their seat at the top table. It's shrewd business decisions like that from their talented board that will give them the edge over lesser clubs.
-
Lallana might struggle out there, he has been used to having better players around him. Maybe give Rickie an hour to create chances for people, then bring on some pace? I heard football expert and Chelsea fan Alec Stewart making the case for Ashley Cole at left back because he is a better defender... Baines and Shaw have shown that they are better than him over a season. Lack of cover in front would expose any of the three. Stick to cricket mate.

1963 - what a year that was! Meanwhile, what is Farmery doing at a car boot sale in Rome? Though I understand his excitement, it's difficult to spot a pompey shirt in Cosham these days between all the Chelsea and United ones, as the little minnow sinks beneath the media frenzy of the nasty Premier League and into obscurity. They will soon be a club remembered only by bitter old men who like the superior sound quality of cassette tapes, strippers in pubs, and Love Thy Neighbour.

While I've given up guessing how good a new manager will actually perform, this looks like a great appointment. Now tell the players to stop muttering, wind their necks in, and get with the effing programme! #onthebus
