We are in for another striker then other than Sharp. Wish we would hurry up and get it done...although it's inevitable in January that clubs wait till the last minute. Out of interest, what time does the window shut on Tuesday? Midnight?

Can't see it. He has a better chance of being in the Prem next season with Cardiff as we bottle it this year.

40.3 Subject to Regulations 40.4 and 40.5, a Player will only be eligible to play in a match organised by The League if the appropriate forms for his Standard Loan, Emergency Loan, Youth Loan or Emergency Loan of a goalkeeper transfer are received (including by facsimile) and found to be in order by the Executive: 40.3.1 in respect of any fixture played on a weekday when the Office is normally open, at least three hours before the match; or 40.3.2 in respect of any other fixture: (a) 12 noon on the day of the match; or (b) at least three hours before the match, whichever is the earlier.

He knows Adam Lallana personally based on other posts, so AL is out tomorrow. Do we know Guly is fit btw?

Birmingham have lost Chris Wood as his loan ran out and I really don't rate Marlon King as a striker who will consistently score in the run in when you need him to. I am not worried about WHU is all honest, I think us and WHU will break clear of the pack together and they might sneak it, but I will happily take second. Nigel has strengthened well so far and one more addition will be enough for us to keep getting results, especially with players coming back from suspension and injury. Just enjoying this season winning a fair few games...as much as I look forward to the Prem, the consequences of relegation and losing players in a couple of season does worry me.

Yeah Beckford would be fantastic for our "team". A lot of our success this season has been down to the togetherness we have, hence why the likes of Puncheon are shipped out. It's not just about the ability of the player. Lambert isn't going anywhere, ridiculous thread. Obviously a wind up by a journalist

Okaka has been frozen out at AS Roma it appears. Lovely finish here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcprxTOq2YM&feature=related Commentator sounds a tad excited.

A Saints fan tweeted him asking how much, and he replied to him stating £7.5million. Would that be a record for the Championship?
-
Coming from a guy on twitter called Fourth_Official. He obviously has contacts in clubs as he always seems to announce the deals that are happening before the press, especially last Summer. Fourth Official @Fourth_Official Southampton have also made a loan enquiry for Stefano Okaka from Roma, was on loan at Fulham in 2010 #saintsfc I see he is a Striker. Perhaps a back up deal in case the Hooper one doesn't come off. Would we sign Lee, Hooper and Okaka? He also tweeted last night: Fourth Official @Fourth_Official Southampton are set to make a much improved offer for Celtic's Gary Hooper this week, confident of getting a deal done #saintsfc Fee thought to be £7.5million

I love this one. Perhaps tinker with the second to last line? The rest sounds quality. The Balotelli tune is very good and Tadanari fit nicely.
-
Just can't get enough: do do do do do do do do do do tad-an-ar-i to the tune of luiz suarez song by Liverpool. Seeing as we took their one for Torres and changed it for Rickie, let's steal another.

2-1 forest is my prediction, also the day we slip from 1st to 4th in the League.
-
Having spoken to Steve, he said that the management want to play in a reserves game this week and based on how that goes he may be ready for Forest. If not Forest he said definitely Leicester
-
Jason Puncheon is not in the squad.
-
Somebody said to Puncheon on Twitter: shame u wont settle and commit to the saints , u could be the difference this season =) Puncheon replied: got more chance winning the lottery than that happening I think that pretty much sums up where his future lies.
-
De Ridder has not travelled with the squad.
-
Oxlade-Chamberlain was in Southampton today...Lallana saying on Twitter it was nice to see him....potential loan until the end of the season? He doesn't make the Arsenal matchday squad at the moment. Stranger things have happened.
-
Interesting that Adkins said about bringing in a couple of LOANS. Perhaps with the option to buy in the summer I am guessing

My views: Bristol City are our bogey team, much like Swindon were in the first year in League 1. They just know how to play against us. The defeat has come at a good time I feel, highlighting the fact that we have nobody on the bench that is a 'game winner', so here is hoping for a couple of signings next week. Don't panic people, this was going to come sooner or later. Rather get it out the way now than on the last day against Coventry. Teams are going to come for a point now at St Marys and we are going to have to break them down. Hopefully the likes of Leicester will come and play which suits us and we should tear them apart. It's just a case of getting that first goal. We didn't have enough quality today but I'm hopeful we can bounce back against Brighton. Morgan was poor tonight, I expect Hammond and Cork on Monday. Lambert was getting assaulted and the ref didn't let the game flow which didn't help. On to the next one. Plenty of game left and we are still 3points clear.

Spent two hours queuing down there today and didn't get a ticket. Like many I was going to go down on the Saturday collecting both at the same time as I couldn't get down on the Friday. I have been to 9 away games this season and with such a big game that was going to be incredibly popular, the ticket office should have set up a ballot. Maybe they couldn't cope with another one. Who knows, they seem to be useless down there since David Luker left. The chap that came out this morning dressed in a suit who I gather is the manager mentioned that the ticket office system is being overhauled in the summer with a total new setup being put in place for next season. I guess that is one bit of good news!
-
Beckford over Sharp? No thanks. Beckford is League 1 with an awful attitude, wouldn't want him anywhere near our squad. Sharp is a down to earth guy who I believe will thrive off Rickie's knock downs and score a lot of goals for us. Rather have Sharp for £3m compared to Jay Rod and Maynard (Bristol reportedly after £6m).
-
I think he will probably be looking at Brighton away for his comeback game. He tweeted yesterday before the game 'I've joined in the warm ups with the lads this wk but can't fully kick a ball yet due to the ligament still on the mend!Running is cool tho'.
-
Christ, but replace him with Lee Holmes......surely not. Lallana is the one player in our team that can create something when we need it. He is straight on the teamsheet every week unless he is badly injured. Lee Holmes is an average League 1 player, we need another quality winger in January.
-
I think it is harsh judging Barnard on three late appearances, especially yesterday when, as someone pointed out, Kelvin was lumping long balls to him when he was up against a 6ft + defender. Give Barnard time, he has been out for a while so will be lacking match sharpness. He needs Rickie to feed off and I firmly believe, given time, he will come good and score some vital goals for us this season. If the worst came to the worst, I'm sorry, but I think Cork could easily do a job at CB in the Championship. However I agree that come January we should be looking for another centre half to add to Fonte & Jos. As this thread is about Rickie, I'm sure he will be back on Saturday and will score a couple hopefully!

What worries me is we have a type of game like Bristol City on Saturday and they catch us on an off day or a day when we have twenty shots and only one goes in
