Forgot to add to my post that Puncheon was awful today

Changing the manager is not what we need. Ridiculous two games in. Couple of new additions is what we do need to break teams like Orient down when we are running out of ideas. It happened last season and it happened again today. First half we were good today and should have had a couple more, would have been game over. But once again we didn't put our chances away and were punished. Not a fan of Butterfield, not a first team regular, the sooner Richardson get's fit, the better. Jaidi awful today aswell, lump it anywhere. First half we looked decent, but didn't show up in the second. Harding should have had one, Barnard hits the woodwork twice and two great saves by their keeper deny us. It's not the end of the world but we need a couple more players and to convert these chances!!

We really need cover for Rickie, especially after seeing the state he was in last night in Soton! In all seriousness, when he get's a knock I think we will struggle majorly so need somebody who can do a similar job to him. Yes it will be hard to bring someone of the same quality as they aren't going to want to sit on the bench week in, week out, but somebody is definitley required. Perhaps a loan?

As it is at the moment, you can see these midweek trips to the likes of Tranmere being the same as last season. We won't be able to break them down as we don't have enough options going forward. As you say, defensively we are sound, but minus Antonio, our 'alternative' threat has gone, so we effectively only have one option now. This worries me.

Laughable thread. None of our key players are leaving, people just being paranoid as usual. With regards to people saying the squad is weaker than last season, yes we may have lost Antonio, who I think was effective, and Papa Waigo, who I didn't rate that much, but we have cleared out the dead wood in the squad and are slowly building a good side. I am confident there will be a few more additions before the window closes, and the signing's we have madehave been good, our backline is now solid. When was the last time you could say that about a Saints back line. Bring on this season, comparing this squad now to the one we have a year ago makes you feel so much better!

Totally agree. Due to the fact that they have those players, I believe they will win this league. Managing to keep ahold of Tudgay is fantastic for them, he could get a game in a mid/lower Premiership side in my opinion.

I agree, having lost Antonio and not having replaced them so far we lack different ideas for games where one approach doesnt work. If we were running out of steam in a game, then Antonio was brought on to mix it up a bit and give the opposition something to think about. We need a replacement for him, aswell as a good CM. For me, Hammond isn't consistently good enough for a side that is going to be challenging to win the league and I am worried that a key player like this hasn't been brought in early doors. If nothing is done within the next 10 days I am going to start getting worried big style.

Do we think that or know that Hammond is going to continue the roll?? Personally I think Fonte should captain the side and I see he did in the FC Thun game during the first half. Did Hammond take over in the second? Views?

This ^^. At the end of the day he is running a business and making business decisions. Nothing to complain about, the club is in a fantastic state and loving every moment of it.

Dropped in peoples opinions is what I mean

I don't understand why Harding has suddenly been dropped. What has he done wrong? Other than Lambert, he was probably our most consistent player last season.

Harding is our first choice left-back. It's great to have two player's in each position as now Harding will know he will have to consistently perform or risk being dropped and not getting another look in for a while. Dickson can also be used on the wing if things aren't quite working in one game and Pardew decides to put Lallana in the hole or something.

Surman is a player from the past. We are looking to move on and I am glad he hasn't come back here.

We aren't leaving it late. People are just impatient and want 4/5 players signed overnight. It doesn't happen like that. In 3 weeks time, if we haven't signed anyone, then I would get worried.
