Thought Reed was a CM ? -
Open up a new thread then, can nationalisation work ? Probably TBH, would it work now ? No, the values of the big six are far far too high for the government to reasonably take back control of them. It was widely reported at the time that the government at the time of privatisation was losing millions of taxpayers money as the old EB's could not effectively run their businesses to the breakeven points required, energy prices are always relevent to supply/demand as well as other taxeable qoutas that is written in legislation and requirement from the government. As a distribution company we can only effectively spend money on areas of the network that the government allow anyway. France went the right way about it, ploughing money into generation which as you can see now has created a supply surplus that they are able to sell off to the continent, this effectively keeps energy 'prices' down but the network maintenance etc will always have to come out of the taxpayers pocket which is different to how the UK operates within which that maintenance effectively is paid for by the companies themselves.

Employment question - contact with former employees.

True, but you find those that are willing to take crap from their boss generally take a disproportional amount of crap with little reward coming back. Im not saying openly rock the boat till it sinks but there is certainly no harm in defending yourself. Contrary to popular belief I believe that a manager is at the same level as me from a social POV, just employed to do a more responsible job, if he shows me no respect he will openly get none back, but thats just me. -

It is a bacon sarnie -
Needs a different thread really bud, presumeambly you are talking about nationalisation due to the vast profits made by these companies ? Ill discuss it aslong as it doesnt turn into the usual arguement against capitalism which is a completely different arguement ?
-
Nationalisation of the energy companies will never be the answer, will never be viable and wont change a thing, but that a different arguement. From a tenants POV I dont see what the issue is really, Im looking at starting to build a property portfolio and obviously Ill be looking to get a decent return on my investment. A counter arguement I suppose is that if I am purchasing and ultimately maintaining a property then it is saving the government money that would have been used to build that property in the first place.

Then its just crap, presumeably the worry is your mate may jump ship to one of the other conpanies or it is a case that the bosses nose is out of joint after a real falling out with the ones that left but realistically I cant see how he can have a leg to stand on if your mates personal life isnt effecting his job. My line of work is a different environment to yours or any office based politics (thankfully) I got out of the computing game long ago but where I work if I asked my staff to not hang about with certain people I think Id be told where to go. Unfortunately though, as much as what your boss is doing isnt strictly legal and utterly unenforceable like many work scenarios if your boss wanted to make life v hard then he could do so just make sure your mate watches his back and potentially note down any 'changes' to his work/opportunities incase things get sticky later on. -
Pretty much fitter then Ive been since I was 18 now I reckon. Slimmed right down, starting to really tone up (christ it takes ages to get some real tone going !) and I reckon Im in the top 3 of the fitter players at my club which is pretty good considering Im one of the older lads and its a respectable standard (playing with ex Millwall and chelsea players helps). Basically playing football 4-5 times a week, badminton 1-2 times and the weights routines 3x a week has helped. Unfortunately some of the lads have let me down and I wont be doing tough mudder this year but hey ho Im happy at the moment

As long as he isnt doing anything himself that would potentially be putting his employment at risk then I dont see how his boss can influence his personal life. For instance I have to be drug and drink tested on occasion at work so obviously I need to avoid being under the influence of drink and avoid any drug intake whilst in their employment. Aslong as I turn up to work in a fit state, i.e not half asleep all the time, constantly injured etc and dont bring the companies name into disrepute by being constantly in trouble with the law then I cant see how they can have any influence on my personal life whatsoever. Id suggest though that maybe your mate should start keeping a work diary or talk to his union rep if he is worried for his longevity in his current position, also if his boss is that much of a cock then you could potentially see his progression being tarnished. Just how bad are his 'friends' ? -
Oh my god your relentless

Heard somewhere that they have been to Wembley as many times as us

Which for me is a little worrying, I know Sir Les gets a hard job in here and was a woefull manager but from a development POV he has done a pretty good job here. So to swap him for an ice hockey coach is.... Well.... A new one

Jesus christ a thread with GM and DP..... -
Sounds like too much effort for the package TBH

Not really too worried, has the potential to be a good appointment but I can fully see Batmans point, from a glance it looks rediculous. Also raises serious questions about Reed (is he still here ?) as essentially his job is from an organisational stand point regarding the footballing excellence side (coaching/academy/fitness) We really need a CEO in here that knows his stuff and quickly.
